Chapter 446: Travelogue Eradication

"You are going to overheat," Angelina warned, lightly tapping the wide brim of the hat currently shielding his face. "You cannot possibly be comfortable under all those layers."

"Perspiration is simply the body’s automated cooling mechanism," Alex replied, his voice muffled but entirely devoid of concern. "It operates on a subconscious level. I do not have to manually authorize the release of moisture. Removing this collar and hat, however, requires active, bilateral arm movement. I will simply lie here and allow my biology to handle the thermal regulation. Doing nothing remains the superior strategy."

Gillian let out a long, highly cynical sigh, crossing her arms. "He is literally going to lie there until the ruffles rot off his neck."

"Decomposition is a passive process, Gillian," Alex corrected seamlessly. "I highly endorse it."

"He looks like a piñata that survived a renaissance fair," Monica pointed out, plucking the tablet from Jennifer’s hands. "If you refuse to undress, we are going to put you to work. The artificial intelligence clearly needs a new directive. Jen, let’s see how the algorithm handles his absolute refusal to be a tourist."

Jennifer clapped her hands together, a wicked, fiercely competitive smile spreading across her face. "Oh, this is going to be spectacular. I am going to send him on a world tour."

She leaned over Monica’s shoulder, dictating clearly into the device’s microphone.

"Prompt," Jennifer announced. "Generate a high-budget, globally syndicated travel documentary. The host is a photorealistic avatar of Alex, wearing his current, exact outfit. He is tasked with reviewing the world’s most universally beloved tourist destinations. Render his mathematically optimal, zero-friction critique of global travel. Broadcast immediately."

She tapped the screen.

The large monitor flared to life. The introductory graphics featured sweeping, majestic shots of the globe, accompanied by a soaring, inspirational orchestral track. The title flashed across the screen in bold letters: Wonders of the Void.

The scene faded in on the digital avatar of Alex, standing at the base of the Great Wall of China. The digital sun was shining. Tourists were walking enthusiastically up the massive, winding stone steps in the background.

The digital Alex stared up at the endless expanse of the historical monument. He did not take a single step forward. He let out a long, deeply suffering sigh.

"A wall," the digital host whispered to the camera, his tone dripping with profound, ASMR-level apathy, "built across the spine of a mountain range, is an architectural insult to the calves. It serves no modern purpose other than to aggressively exhaust the quadriceps. Climbing thousands of uneven stone steps to achieve a view of more stone steps is a catastrophic failure of logic. I am going back to the car."

The avatar turned around and walked out of the frame.

In the living room, Courteney let out a breathless shriek of laughter, kicking her feet. "He didn’t even walk up one step! He just roasted the Great Wall and left!"

The broadcast immediately cut to the next destination. The digital Alex was now standing inside the Louvre in Paris, surrounded by a massive, shoulder-to-shoulder crowd of tourists desperately trying to take pictures of the Mona Lisa.

The digital avatar stared at the chaotic mob, his expression completely hollowed out by spiritual exhaustion.

"Standing in a congested room to look at a severely undersized painting is a visual and spatial tragedy," the digital Alex murmured, refusing to push his way through the crowd. "The painting is too small. The general public is too loud. Craning my neck over the shoulders of strangers requires unacceptable cervical strain. If the museum cannot deliver the art directly to my line of sight, the art is irrelevant."

The avatar pulled a sleep mask over his eyes and leaned back against a marble pillar, entirely ignoring the masterpiece.

Mariah buried her face in her hands, her shoulders shaking violently. "He called the Mona Lisa irrelevant because it was too far away! The French are going to riot!"

"The machine is factually correct," Alex stated smoothly, not moving a single muscle to adjust his hat. "Art should not require a commute. If a painting forces you to stand up and navigate a crowd, it has failed as a medium of relaxation."

The screen transitioned one final time. The digital Alex was now standing in the center of the Colosseum in Rome. The ancient, sweeping architecture towered around him.

"This is a ruined building," the digital host whispered, gesturing vaguely at the crumbling stone walls. "It lacks a functioning roof. The structural integrity is severely compromised, and the seating arrangements are made of abrasive rock. Why would anyone expend international airfare to visit a dilapidated arena that cannot even provide basic lumbar support?"

The digital Alex looked directly into the camera lens.

"The ultimate vacation destination," he concluded flawlessly, "is simply closing your eyes. Safe travels."

The screen faded to black.

The room erupted. Angelina collapsed against Alex’s side, wheezing with uncontrollable laughter, while Gillian clutched her stomach, entirely unable to formulate a coherent sentence.

"You just destroyed the tourism industry!" Jennifer gasped, wiping tears of sheer amusement from her cheeks. "You canceled the Wonders of the World because they don’t have back support!"

"Ruins are simply buildings that gave up, Jen," Alex reasoned lazily, his voice echoing gently under the brim of his hat. "I respect their decision to stop functioning, but I will not fly across an ocean to visit them. The algorithm flawlessly captured my geopolitical philosophy."

Before the laughter could fully subside, Snoop Dogg and Keanu Reeves strolled back into the room. They had finally shed their pneumatic-blown outfits, replacing them with a look of profound, enlightened serenity.

"Nephew," Snoop drawled, raising a hand in a peaceful greeting. "We just returned from the East corridor. The engineering division has officially cured the tragedy of human conversation."

Monica sat up, wiping her eyes. "What did they invent now, Snoop?"

"The ’Automated Debate Simulator’," Keanu answered softly, his voice filled with philosophical awe. "Arguing with other humans is a severe biological drain. It requires active listening, formulating logical rebuttals, and managing the emotional fragility of the opposing party. It is an administrative nightmare."

"So how does the simulator work?" Courteney asked, thoroughly entertained.

"It’s a tiny, soundproofed booth," Snoop grinned. "You walk in, and you state an opinion. Any opinion. You don’t have to defend it. The artificial intelligence simply listens to your premise, instantly generates a flawless, highly researched counter-argument, and then immediately concedes defeat and apologizes for ever doubting you."

Keanu nodded in absolute reverence. "I spent twenty minutes arguing that water isn’t actually wet. The machine provided three peer-reviewed scientific journals proving me wrong, and then thanked me for my superior intellect and agreed that water is, in fact, dry. It was the most satisfying argument of my life."

Alex let out a low, melodic hum of approval. "An echo chamber that requires zero defense of your own thesis. Flawless. Disagreement is an administrative burden, Keanu. Why fight to prove a point when a machine can simply validate your delusions on demand?"

"Exactly," Snoop chuckled, taking a seat. "I told the machine that taxes are illegal. It agreed and offered to write an apology letter to the IRS on my behalf."

Angelina, her competitive spirit reignited by the sheer absurdity of the conversation, turned her attention back to Alex. She reached out, her fingers dancing lightly along his ribs.

"You have an answer for everything, don’t you?" Angelina teased, her voice dropping into a sultry, challenging whisper. "Let’s see how your logic handles a direct, physical intervention."

She dug her fingers sharply into his side, executing a ruthless, highly targeted tickle attack.

Alex did not flinch. He did not squirm. A faint, involuntary twitch occurred near his jawline, but his body remained entirely motionless.

"Laughter induced by external physical stimulus is a basic neurological reflex, Angie," Alex lectured seamlessly, his voice maintaining its flat, unyielding baritone even as she relentlessly tickled his ribs. "It is an autonomic response of the nervous system. It does not signify joy, nor does it mean you have successfully breached my defenses."

Angelina stopped, staring at him in sheer, absolute disbelief. "You are literally reasoning your way out of being tickled. You are completely unbreakable."

"I am simply refusing to authorize the kinetic energy required to squirm," Alex corrected. "Squirming burns calories. You may continue to attack my ribs, but you are only exhausting your own fingers."

Gillian shook her head, a smile of pure, defeated affection breaking across her face. "He wins. He always wins by doing absolutely nothing at all."

"Victory through attrition, Gillian," Alex murmured, finally allowing a slow, victorious smirk to pull at his lips beneath the absurd ruffled collar. "Now, please refrain from further physical hostility. My scheduled afternoon stasis is long overdue, and I refuse to argue with the laws of physics."
