Chapter 67: Beware Of Fate

The expression on her face grew colder as she felt this projection was at its limit, and she couldn’t last much longer.

She didn’t expect him to have a law mark that her projection body could handle. She could not have her projection being sealed, as even as a projection, others still can use it to bring trouble to her original body.

So, she could only burn most of this projection’s spiritual energy to break through the seal. But in the end, it came at the cost of this projection’s entire strength and was on the verge of dissipating.

"Haha! As expected of the Lady of Salvation. Even as a mere projection, you were able to break free from the Blood Law Seal."

He looked at her with admiration before continuing.

"But it seems that doing so drained almost all of your spiritual power. Ultimately, this projection is going to disappear from the heavens and earth."

She didn’t say anything to him, but instead her eyes remained on Max, and then she seemed to mutter something that, for some reason, no one except Max could hear.

"You are a pawn in a bigger game that you can never imagine. Only I can help you. You will definitely come to me."

Her eyes seemed to become deeper.

"And remember... beware of Fate."

After this, her body seemed to start to fade rapidly, and in a matter of seconds it completely disappeared into heaven and earth.

Max remained silent as he watched her disappear. But her words made him doubt almost everything.

One moment she almost felt like she was trying to kill him, and now she was suddenly saying she was the one who could save him. If this is how people save others, then he really didn’t need saving. But her words were something, and he should be careful about it.

More importantly, he couldn’t shake the feeling that everything happening to him might not be a coincidence.

The woman who called herself the Lady of Salvation.

The man who suddenly appeared to save him.

And the strange distortion surrounding his fate.

It seemed that somewhere behind the scenes, someone—or something—had been manipulating the course of his life.

But he could not tell anything right now; he needed time to figure things out and needed knowledge and information about the secrets of this world, which sadly only nobles or ancient noble clans might have.

He sighed, thinking about this, but then he focused on the present, as those things are a matter of the future.

Max then looked at the guy who saved him, who seemed to take a deep breath seeing the projection of Lady of Salvation finally disappear. The hell flames surrounding him disappeared as he stopped using the Hell Crimson Spear.

He smiled and then looked at Max with a smile. "Finally found you, but you know how to bring trouble. How dare you, a mere bloodline awakener, mess with the Lady of Salvation? She is someone that even the emperor is unable to handle."

"But luckily, it was one of the countless projections of her that roams the world. And it wasn’t one of the very strong ones at that; otherwise, this battle would end differently." He said this expression turned a bit serious.

It was clear that she was a very terrifying being, and what shocked Max was that she was so terrifying that even the emperor was unable to handle her. Just thinking he couldn’t help but feel chills. It seemed he had survived something extraordinary.

"Yes, and thank you for helping me." Max quickly answered, and the guy silently nodded.

"Come, let’s talk inside. You must be confused and must have many questions." The dragon rider said that, and then they calmly entered the inn, leaving people outside in shock.

The people outside were shocked as they experienced something unbelievable. They were all also confused, but nobody dared to come forward to stop the Dragon rider or Max.

Andrew and Mathew were also awakened by such commotion. However, even they didn’t approach Max.

The dragon rider’s strength had surpassed the Transformation Realm, and neither of them was foolish enough to interfere.

They also knew that Max was extraordinary.

After surviving so many life-and-death situations together, they had developed a strong bond and understanding.

If Max wanted to tell them something, he would tell them himself. There was no need for them to ask.

Stella also didn’t come, as he had already told her through their psychic connection.

The entire Flameheart city was shocked, and every noble family was trying to find out what had just happened, but this had nothing to do with Max as he entered the inn along with the dragon rider.

The inn was now empty, and nobody dared to enter. Both of them then calmly sat down while Max waited for the guy to talk.

"Hmm, where should I begin? Yes, let’s begin with who I am and where I came from."

"I am Aron, the deputy commander of the third legion of the City of Blood." After saying this, he stopped to see Max’s reaction. Contrary to the surprise or shock he expected, Max was even more confused, and his face showed an expression like, ’What the hell are you talking about?’

Aron stared at him for a moment. Then his expression darkened.

He slapped his hand against the table, nearly breaking it. He had forgotten that this was merely a remote corner of the insignificant Silver River State.

’How could people here possibly know about the City of Blood?’ He, thinking this, quickly started to tell about what the City of Blood represents.

"I almost forgot that you might know about the things beyond the small state of Silver River. There would be many things to tell if I go on that would take too much time."

He leant back and looked at Max with an expression filled with confidence.

"So, let me put it this way."

"If the entire Silver River State gathered every Bloodline Awakener it possessed and they joined forces together, they still wouldn’t be able to withstand the wrath of the Third Legion of the City of Blood."

He said with extreme confidence and looked at Max, who, hearing this, couldn’t help but be shocked as to how a city could be this strong.
