Bloodbound Codex: I Grow Stronger in Secret
Chapter 260: Soul Ender
Meanwhile, on the Angelic Continent, Solaris herself had also felt the immense weight pressing down upon her. Seraphiel was in her embrace, and every other person throughout Celestara had been affected by the same force, leaving Solaris with no choice but to act immediately.
Without wasting even a single moment, she activated the newly invented Formation created by the researchers of her continent after they had studied the teleportation Formation Solaris had previously obtained from Eliana.
The researchers hadn’t simply recreated the same teleportation-type Formation after discovering something so unique and unbelievable. Instead, they had created several other types of Formations based on their research, and among them was a defensive layered Formation made from the strange substance they were currently extracting from the defeated monster that had invaded their continent.
That strange substance was none other than Null. Because of Null’s unique properties, the defensive Formation could completely erase the effects of the overwhelming force. In fact, it could even erase the force itself when it came into contact with the Formation.
Seeing the results of their research actually work against such an unbelievable phenomenon, the researchers couldn’t contain their excitement and began cheering in joy. Solaris, however, had no time to celebrate. She immediately carried Seraphiel, who had been injured after intervening to save Atlas and now remained unconscious, into her own bedroom before carefully placing her on the bed.
Solaris looked at her for a moment before sighing internally. ’How much of a fool can you be? Sigh, you love him so much that you threw your own life away for him while he remains almost completely clueless.’
The Dwarven King and his continent didn’t even need to do anything in response to the force. They weren’t affected by it from the beginning because the Dwarves had already prepared a mechanism specifically designed to deal with world-class threats like this one. Whatever that mechanism was, it had successfully protected the entire Dwarven Continent without requiring them to reveal anything further.
As for the Human Continent and the Ancients, the Ancients already had things set up to defend against any kind of force acting upon them and their Church, so it didn’t really matter if that kind of force came down upon them.
Sylvaris had remained floating where she was without a single shred of sweat or difficulty, once again proving to Zaakrax that there was a massive difference between possessing power and actually knowing how to use it. He still had a lot to learn about using his own powers properly.
The Human Continent, however, was also unaffected. Velmira had used the very power of the world, Eliomor, to create that barrier, while she herself possessed ’Semekrus,’ something made from Eliomor’s own consciousness.
Because of that, it was impossible for even the Progenitor Race who essentially was born in this very world, to interfere with it or force it down. Velmira therefore remained floating in the air, her armor completely covered in blood.
She had killed the monster that had Mark’s ’Potential Gaping’ Ability integrated into it. No... it wasn’t just the Ability. She knew that the entire body had originally belonged to Mark, while the consciousness inside it belonged to a monster.
Velmira breathed heavily as she clenched Marvilas tightly in her hand. ’I... I am sorry, Mark. If I knew you were dragged into this without your consent, I would have saved you. I was such an ignorant person...’
Grief and guilt seemed to clench her heart as she stared at the corpse lying on the ground below. For a long moment, she simply remained there, staring at it without saying anything. Eventually, however, she turned her attention toward the newest appearance the man had taken.
Her eyes immediately filled with Bloodlust.
"I do not know who you are, but... I will be killing you for all the things you have done to my life and the continent." Her words couldn’t reach him because of the distance between them, but Velmira still said them before moving. Her figure vanished from her position in the next instant.
A few moments earlier, back on the battlefield, Atlas had finally moved.
His body slowly floated upward as the Flames of Nothingness continued coating his entire body, their strange force constantly erasing anything that attempted to affect him. Atlas’s eyes remained fixed on the man standing before him, and this time, he was finally ready to make his move.
Orivian, one of the members of the Progenitor Race, simply stared at Atlas with his pupilless eyes. His ashen face remained completely expressionless as the two stood facing each other.
Atlas finally spoke, "You are quite the scheming person to have planned all this for years, but unfortunately for you, you will be dying here and now. Not even that—"
Before Atlas could finish his sentence, he suddenly sensed the man beside him. Orivian’s hand was already reaching toward his left shoulder as he calmly spoke, "I also have a thing to say to you. Although you are an anomaly beyond anything I have ever seen, even those strange powers you possess won’t be enough to save you."
Atlas’s eyes widened as he stared ahead. He could still see Orivian standing several meters away from him, yet at the same time, another Orivian was standing directly beside him.
He was witnessing something that shouldn’t have been possible.
However, Atlas wasn’t afraid in the slightest.
Orivian’s hand continued moving toward his shoulder, but the moment his fingers came into contact with the unusual flames covering Atlas’s body, his hand was instantly erased. Nothing remained of it. The Flames of Nothingness spread from that point across his entire body, and within a single instant, Orivian was completely erased without even being able to scream.
Atlas narrowed his eyes as he looked toward the Orivian still standing several meters ahead of him.
’Was that a clone?’ Before he could finish the thought, however, Atlas suddenly sensed another presence behind Orivian.
A figure had appeared there.
Her sword was already descending with terrifying intensity as her voice rang out across the battlefield.
"Marvilas Semekrus ─ Soul Ender!"
