Bloodbound To My Four Archenemies.

Chapter 117: Better fit.

July 24 2026, 11:49am.

That is a lie! Nyx’ara thought quietly to herself. However, she did not voice this thought but instead decided to let Seraphina continue bragging about the impossible.

From where she stood, she could hear the growing murmurs rippling through the crowd as all the servants and guards present could not stop themselves from whispering among themselves and staring from one woman to the next, as if half expecting the world to end at any moment.

It was obvious that they all favored Seraphina over Nyx’ara. Hell, she had even overheard some people talking about how Seraphina was a ‘better fit’ for their alphas, not once but several times in the past.

Those words had stuck and remained with her for as long as she could remember, so now, seeing all of them subtly taking Seraphina’s side despite knowing that the other woman had come to her first did not feel so bad.

If anything, it made her feel better in a weird twisted way. She smiled. “I a-am happy for you.”

And goddess, as soon as the words left her lips, the smile on Seraphina’s face faltered. She staggered only slightly before her shattered composure began to slip back into place.

Her hand shot up to clutch at her pearls as she glared disgustingly at Nyx’ara, and then she seethed; “You love to act like you’re always high and mighty, don’t you?!”

Nyx’ara shrugged. “No.”

“You love to pretend like nothing could ever get through to you, right?”

Nyx’ara shrugged again. “No. H-however, I’d love to think of t-this as sharing them with you. I-if my husbands have decided to mark you, then trust me, it’s for m-my own good and…”

“Nyx’ara!” Seraphina snarled but Nyx’ara would not stop talking. She wouldn’t even listen to the girl whose face was now so flushed, she looked like she had been spray-painted with a white oil paint.

Her lips moved without hesitation and the words tumbled out of her mouth in quick succession. “T-they are four men for crying out loud! F-your humongous men with strengths that rival beasts! Look a-at me! Do you think I can handle all of t-that?! Do you th-think I want to be married and mated to all f-four of them?! Come on, I’m not greedy! Anyways, I e-even think it’s better this way, you take two and I take two and everyone lives sadly ever after!”

“And who are the two you’ll be taking?” Another voice drawled, chirping in just then. Its magnificence thundered around the room with a weight powerful enough to bring anyone to their knees.

The sound of the deep voice made Nyx’ara’s knees wobble. She spun around quickly and when she turned and saw that it was Alpha Draven and Alpha Kieran— both of whom she did not realize when they arrived in the room— her face burned, staining a bright shade of red.

“Which of us would you pick for yourself?” Kieran continued, loving the way the pretty girl looked as though she was about to hyperventilate. Her face was as bright as tomato paste, and her lips which had moved so quickly earlier on were now pressed into a thin line.

He watched her lower her head slightly and clasp her hands behind her back, and something about that made him want to throw his head back and laugh until his ribs hurt.

But he didn’t.

Instead, he decided to tease her further by walking straight to her and resting his hand at the small of her back.

She flinched.

Of course, she would flinch! Of course, he knew that already.

His eyes gleamed with delight as he noticed the goosebumps scattering across her skin like smallpox. He liked the way she reacted to him. Liked the way her body always melted into him despite all her attempts to do the opposite.

He hooked a finger under her chin, pushed her face upwards until she met his eyes, and drawled; “Which of us do you plan to suffer?”

Plan to suffer.

The words hit Nyx’ara squarely in the chest and she gulped. Somewhere in her subconscious, she had figured that whoever she picked was the ‘one who would suffer.’

Her lips pressed together and she lowered her head. But this was mostly because her heart was pounding so fast, she feared it would jump right out of her chest. It was because her breath was catching with each second she spent being this pressed closely beside him.

Sparks flew where their skins touched, but clamping down on the several sensations running up her body and shooting straight to her core, she muttered; “S-Seraphina will have to choose first… and whoever re-remains after she’s made her choice gets to suffer wi-with me.”

“And what if I say I want to suffer with you?” He asked without hesitation, his voice washing over her like a million caresses all at once.

She gulped, not missing the way Seraphina’s eyes thinned into fierce slits beside her. The other woman frowned and balled her hands into fists as she watched Alpha Kieran openly flirt with this scum, Nyx’ara.

—And goddess, she hated it!

She hated it more than anything!

She hated that he was publicly choosing Nyx’ara time and time again over her and she hated how they looked so compatible for each other. How it felt as though they were made to be together…

But they were indeed made to be together…

She marched forward with a frown and tried to loop her arm around Draven’s. However, just as she touched his arm, he pulled back so quickly that one would think her touch burned. Her arm hung awkwardly in the air and she hissed under her breath;

“If I am made to choose, then I will pick Alpha Draven and Alpha Rhys… I have a soft spot for Alpha Azriel so that would make choosing very difficult.”

“For someone who has not been marked… yet, you’re surely very delusional.” Someone else answered, and that.. that was not Draven or Kieran.

That was not even Nyx’ara.

It was Rhys.

He strolled into the room with the strides of a predator, his dark golden eyes drawn to Nyx’ara the entire time.

As he stepped into the room, Nyx’ara could not help but notice the way Seraphina gulped thickly. Her expression quickly went from smug to uncomfortable. In fact, she almost looked like she was about to run for the hills.

She let out a dry laugh when Rhys slowly approached her and then she rushed out; “We… we were all just joking. No one’s marking anyone. Nyx’ara said she was willing to share you guys with me, seeing as you’re four large men and she’s only… well, her.”

No one missed the tinge of mockery lacing behind each word like honey. No one missed the way her eyes gleamed with malice upon the mention of Nyx’ara’s name.

Usually, this was the part where Rhys would have called her out or punished her, but he could not bring himself to do any of that because they needed her for something.

She was dumb and delusional and that was all the qualities they needed from her to use her to make their story seem more plausible.

So he flashed her a smile— one that didn’t quite reach his eyes— and rested his hand on her back. And hell, as soon as Seraphina felt his hand against her skin, her mind went bonkers!

A smile that rivaled the sun itself spread across her face, and when she looked at Nyx’ara, there was no missing the superiority that gleamed in her eyes like Christmas lights.

“You’ll do, you’re beautiful!” Rhys said softly with his lips pressed against her temple while his eyes never left Nyx’ara’s face.

One of the reasons he had agreed to do this was because he’d always wanted to know what Nyx’ara’s reaction would be when she saw him with another woman.

And now he knows.

It was… nothing!

She was not jealous! She was not angry… and holy bloody hell and Pegasus, that infuriated him more than Seraphina’s dainty arms which were slowly wrapping themselves around his midriff.

A muscle on his jaw worked when Nyx’ara looked away from him like he was nothing but a boring show airing on live TV, then she took a step away from Kieran and said softly;

“Do you know t-that I am an O-Omega?”

Draven frowned.

He knew better than to believe she was an omega.

“Okay… and?”

“And it’s just right t-that you all mark and mate with a b-beta wolf like Seraphina. She kn-knows the laws governing your pack. She is y-your people’s choice and I-I have come to realise that you trust her judgement b-better than you trust mine when it comes to d-doing things as shitty as picking decor for y-your weird party!”

“Nyx’ara—”

“I even s-suspect that you trust her more than that though. But th-that is not the case here—”

“What is the case here?” Rhys asked, his lips almost twitching with the idea that she was acting out because she was jealous.

Hell, does she get whiny when jealous?

He was snapped out of that thought when she rolled her eyes at him and cried out, her voice shaky yet strong. She hissed;

“I-isn’t it obvious? I w-want to go! I want t-to go to school and be a-away from werewolves, lycans and the sort! I don’t w-want to be a Luna or a murderer. I want to be me! A person… so please… let me go.”
