Bonding System: I Grow Stronger by Taming My Sect Elders
Chapter 2: Bonding for Power
DING!!!
[CONGRATULATIONS, HOST!!]
[A perfect system has been matched for you!]
DING!!
[YOU ARE PAIRING WITH THE BONDING SYSTEM!]
Before Veyron could even react, the system spoke again.
[HOST PAIRING WITH BONDING SYSTEM STARTS NOW...]
"Bonding System? What kind of name is that?" Veyron muttered as he heard and saw the notification.
The system didn’t answer him as it was still pairing. Thankfully, it didn’t take much time. Within a few seconds, another notification appeared.
Ding!
[Congratulations, Host!]
[Host’s pairing with the Bonding System is complete!]
Before Veyron could say anything else, another notification appeared.
[Host has been presented with two personality options.]
[To establish a stronger connection between Host and the Bonding System, please select one of the following personality settings:]
[Option 1: Casual Personality — The system will interact with Host in a more natural, casual, and conversational manner.]
[Option 2: Default Personality — The system will maintain a neutral, robotic, and purely functional personality.]
[Please select one option to finalize the system’s personality.]
Veyron looked at the two options displayed before him, thinking carefully about which one to choose.
In this world, he would be alone with thoughts and a mindset that came from Earth. He wanted a companion—someone he could always talk to.
Veyron’s previous life hadn’t exactly been a good one. He had lived with his father and stepmother, who had been bitchy as hell. His drunkard father had married her after Veyron’s biological mother passed away from an illness.
So, Veyron wasn’t exactly sad about leaving his family behind.
On the contrary, he was happy as hell.
Finally, he had a chance to start over.
Being twenty years old in a cultivation world was practically like being a baby. He had an entirely new life ahead of him.
That was why he wanted a good companion—a sentient system with a personality that he could actually talk to.
Though, he was slightly nervous about one thing.
What if he ended up with some cringe-ass system like the ones he had read about in those novels?
Veyron really hoped that wouldn’t be the case. He slowly extended his hand and selected the first option. He was quite excited to see what would happen, though his nervousness hadn’t faded.
As soon as he selected the first option, the system made another ding sound.
Ding!
[Bonding System personality configuration will begin in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... 0.]
DING!!
[Okay, now that’s over. Let’s get down to business... You know the rules. Ask me anything about the Bonding System, Vey!]
Veyron’s eyes widened, and his jaw dropped as he heard the system speak like that.
It was a female voice, of course, just as he had expected, but he hadn’t expected her to be this casual.
The system had called him Vey.
That nickname was something only his aunt used. She always called him Vey with such warmth and affection.
[What are you complaining about? You selected the first option. My personality is shaped according to yours, so blame yourself. And this is a one-time setting, so you can’t revert me back.]
[And dude... it’s just a nickname. Come on!]
"Cough! Cough!"
Vey coughed twice before saying, "Alright, alright... you don’t have to act like a bitch. You’re only a system in the end."
[Yeah, only a system... which also happens to be your Golden Finger in this world—a world filled with existences you can’t even begin to imagine, even with your wildest fantasies.]
"Fuck, alright... that was my bad. Sigh..."
Vey replied, deciding not to indulge in this nonsense any longer. He needed to get some actual information about the Bonding System.
[That’s better...]
"Tell me what this Bonding System is about..." Vey said as he waited patiently.
[As the name suggests, you must have already understood a few things, but I’ll explain everything in detail for you.]
[The Bonding System helps you grow stronger in this world through the bonds you form with the women around you.]
Vey raised an eyebrow as the system continued.
[It works through the bonds you form with women around you... through which you can share their powers.]
[Yeah, you heard that right. Their powers.]
Vey’s eyes widened in surprise as he heard the system’s words. He could actually share their powers if he formed a bond with a woman?
That sounded easy, right?
[It’s not as easy as you think. Let me explain it in more detail.]
[You have to put in the effort to form a bond with a woman and make her interested in you. Of course, I’m talking about impressing her, befriending her, or simply creating a genuine connection with her. ]
[That bond can gradually develop from interest or friendship into a familial bond, genuine love, and eventually an undying, eternal bond.]
Vey listened intently as the system spoke.
So, it wasn’t as easy as he had initially thought.
Still, Vey wasn’t worried in the slightest. With his good looks—though they weren’t quite as impressive as this world’s Veyron—and his flirting skills, he had been quite the playboy back on Earth.
He had even been involved with a few married women, so he knew he had those skills in him. All those efforts had been wasted when he died, though.
And all because his loser friend Derek had gotten them into an accident after being dumped by a girl three years younger than him.
Vey felt sorry for Derek for a moment. Then he felt angry. Then, strangely enough, he felt grateful.
After all, Derek’s stupidity had somehow sent him to this world. He still had no idea what he actually thought about his friend now.
[Of course, that’s the reason you were matched with the Bonding System in the first place—because of your scumbag personality.]
"Sigh... Really? I’m not that much of a—!" Vey began, but quickly cut himself off. "Anyway, is that it?"
[Of course not...There’s more.]
Vey raised an eyebrow.
"Then keep going."
[As I said earlier, you have to form genuine bonds with women, and those bonds are measured in percentages. The stronger the bond, the more aspects of their powers you will be able to share.]
[If your bond is between 0% and 29%, you won’t be able to share any aspect of their powers.]
[If your bond reaches between 30% and 49%, you will be able to share one aspect of their powers.]
Before Vey could ask anything, the system continued explaining.
[By "aspect," I mean things such as affinities, bloodlines, physiques, cultivation techniques, battle techniques, and even Spirit Cores.]
[There is one thing that is strictly prohibited, though. You absolutely cannot share cultivation, even if your bond reaches 100%. Allowing that would be far too much of a cheat.]
Vey understood what the system meant.
If he could share cultivation with the women he bonded with, it would completely break the rules of this world. He wouldn’t even need to cultivate himself anymore.
So, honestly, this restriction was expected.
He understood everything else, but the fact that he could even share a Spirit Core left him genuinely shocked. Curious about it, he wanted the system to explain it in more detail.
[I’ll come to that. Let’s finish the main things first...]
Vey didn’t mind. He was getting the explanation anyway, so there was no reason to rush her. The system continued.
[When your bond reaches between 50% and 99%, you will be able to share two aspects of their powers. At this level, they will also fall in love with you and will never be able to betray you.]
Vey was surprised.
That was quite a powerful effect. This bonding thing was far more effective than he had expected.
[Of course it’s effective. And let’s just say that how quickly you reach that level will also depend on how effective you are at increasing the bond.]
[Don’t forget that you’re in a cultivation world, and the women here aren’t like the typical women you used to Fuck around on Earth.]
[The women in this world are powerful beyond your imagination. So, things are going to be quite challenging for you. And, of course, it will also depend on what kind of women you choose to pursue.]
[As you might have already guessed—and I know you aren’t dumb enough to overlook this—if you want to grow stronger, you’ll have to pursue strong women.]
[Because that’s simply how the Bonding System works.]
Vey gulped down a mouthful of saliva as the faces of multiple women flashed through his mind. Each of them was breathtakingly beautiful—far beyond anyone he had ever seen on Earth.
Yet, somehow, their beauty only made them seem even more terrifying. After all, these weren’t ordinary women. They were powerful cultivators.
