Chapter 297: Three Civilization Traits
Chapter 297: Three Civilization Traits
The Ancient True Body was different.
Its state was extremely stable, essentially serving as a vastly enhanced version of his normal form. In that state, using skills such as Skyfall Strike consumed less energy and was much easier to control.
Even so, Noah wouldn’t act unless it was absolutely necessary.
After all, a Human-Level Calamity was both a crisis and an opportunity for the Awakeners of Blue Star.
If he solved every problem himself, what would they do?
The entire purpose of nurturing Blue Star’s Awakeners would lose its meaning.
Shaking his head, Noah opened his attribute panel.
The progress bar for one of the two Civilization Traits currently being brewed was already nearing completion.
98%...
99%...
"Let me see what kind of Civilization Trait will be generated."
Noah couldn’t help but feel sense of anticipation.
When the progress bar finally reached 100%, a pleasant system notification sounded in his ears.
[Based on your actions, the actions of the other Blue Star Awakeners over the past seven days, and all accumulated experiences, Blue Star’s Civilization Trait has been successfully brewed. Three Civilization Traits have been generated. Please make a choice.]
"Three Civilization Traits?"
Noah was slightly surprised and quickly checked the available options.
The three Civilization Traits were:
Heaven Rewards Diligence, Overcoming the Enemy, and Breaking Through.
[Heaven Rewards Diligence: You reap what you sow. Blue Star Awakeners gain 20% more rewards from instances, and item rewards +1.]
[Overcoming the Enemy: Your strength is unparalleled. Final damage dealt to enemies +50%. When Blue Star faces an external war, all Blue Star Awakeners gain +100% to their base attributes.]
[Breaking Through: Reduces the difficulty of breaking through original cultivation realms for all Blue Star Awakeners.]
Noah immediately understood that the Civilization Traits Overcoming the Enemy and Breaking Through had originated from him.
It seemed that the skill breakthroughs he achieved during those three days carried considerable weight, enough to give rise to a corresponding Civilization Trait.
Ordinary people naturally couldn’t evolve their skills through quality breakthroughs as he had. Therefore, the Breaking Through trait would mainly benefit breakthroughs in cultivation methods.
Cultivation methods required continuous self-cultivation and were divided into four stages:
Entry, Minor Accomplishment, Major Accomplishment, and Perfection.
Breaking through each realm was like crossing a vast chasm that blocked everyone’s path.
People with high comprehension and exceptional talent could naturally break through these bottlenecks with ease, while ordinary individuals might remain stuck for years.
Moreover, the higher the level of the cultivation method, the more difficult it became to break through its realms.
If this Civilization Trait were chosen, the people of Blue Star would cultivate more efficiently and achieve greater overall growth.
However, this Civilization Trait was useless to Noah.
These realm bottlenecks simply didn’t exist for him. What truly challenged him was increasing the level of a cultivation method itself.
Most people would simply switch to a higher-level cultivation method that suited them better, but Noah had no intention of doing that.
What he wanted was to create a cultivation method perfectly tailored to himself.
Clearly, Breaking Through had no effect on increasing the level of a cultivation method.
"The effect of this Civilization Trait is still a little too limited."
Noah shook his head slightly.
Breaking Through belonged to the category of cultivation-oriented Civilization Traits.
Just as he had discussed with Roland and the others before, cultivation-oriented Civilization Traits weren’t particularly valuable for the current Blue Star.
After all, Blue Star was primarily an Awakened World, and cultivation was merely a supplementary path.
Breaking Through?
Pass.
Heaven Rewards Diligence and Overcoming the Enemy left Noah somewhat torn.
The generation of the Heaven Rewards Diligence Civilization Trait had little to do with him. It was most likely the result of the instance-running craze that had swept across Blue Star during this period.
A 20% increase in instance rewards might not seem particularly impressive at first glance, but this was a Civilization Trait, meaning everyone could benefit from it.
Noah was no exception.
In a sense, it was comparable to a Level 2 Refinement effect. Although it didn’t improve the quality of instance rewards, Heaven Rewards Diligence also granted an additional item reward for every instance.
That alone made it extremely attractive.
For the countless Awakeners of Blue Star, the long-term benefits provided by this Civilization Trait would be enormous.
Overcoming the Enemy.
Among the three Civilization Traits, it was the only one with a war-oriented focus.
Noah had initially thought that the dungeon craze he sparked across Blue Star would also produce a war-oriented Civilization Trait. However, the trait that ultimately emerged turned out to lean more toward cultivation and development.
Even so, although it was the only war-oriented trait, the effects of Overcoming the Enemy were exceptionally powerful.
A 50% increase in final damage against enemies was essentially equivalent to a low-level Enemy of Demonized Monsters title, and it came without any restrictions.
When Noah first awakened his Innate Dao Body, the Power of the Great Dao had only granted a 50% bonus.
As for the second effect, the 100% increase to base attributes, it was four times stronger than the Nine Provinces Cauldron’s bonus. Unlike the Nine Provinces Cauldron, however, it had no regional limitations and would remain active regardless of location.
More importantly, the boost applied to base attributes, making it multiplicative in nature. Once an Awakener entered a burst state, their final attributes would effectively double, resulting in an astonishing increase in combat power.
Of course, the trait wasn’t without conditions.
Blue Star had to be engaged in an external war for the effect to activate. Minor conflicts or small-scale skirmishes would obviously not be enough to trigger it.
The invasion of a Disaster, however, clearly qualified as external warfare and would activate the trait’s effects.
"What a pity. Overcoming the Enemy doesn’t provide any defensive bonuses."
Noah felt a slight sense of dissatisfaction.
He understood very well why that was the case. After all, his offensive power far surpassed his defensive capabilities. Naturally, the base attribute bonus would still provide some increase to defense, but there was no dedicated defensive effect.
Even so, the value of Overcoming the Enemy was immeasurable.
After all, most people didn’t possess titles.
