Born with Supreme Potential, Yet I Choose to Be a Kept Husband

Chapter 102: An Identity for a Shadow Soldier

  • Next Chapter

After confirming that his Shadow Soldier could reproduce the deceased man’s physical appearance, Martial Aura, and biological characteristics, Lucian finally had a solution to the problems preventing him from registering Shadow Genesis.

The only thing left was to come up with a citizenship identification document.

“Uncle, I will trouble you with an identification document,” said Lucian.

Magnus chuckled.

“Lucian, you truly know how to use your uncle’s power to the fullest extent.”

“That’s because I know you can help me.”

“All right, stop flattering me.” Magnus picked up his communication device. “I’ll contact the administrative department and submit an application. If everything goes smoothly, the document should be ready within a day.”

Lucian’s eyes lit up.

“Really? That would be great!”

“I will ask my people to handle it as quickly as possible. You have to wait until tomorrow.”

“Got it, Uncle.”

After making the necessary arrangements, Magnus put down his device and looked at Lucian.

“By the way, have you decided which Shadow Soldier you’re going to use for the registration?”

Lucian nodded.

“Yes, I have already decided.”

“Oh? Which Shadow Soldier are you going to use?”

Instead of replying, Lucian raised his hand and called upon a Shadow Soldier. The shadow under his feet writhed and a tall figure emerged from it. Contrary to the regular Shadow Soldiers, this one had a strong aura of a leader surrounding it.

Lucian was satisfied as he looked at the Shadow Soldier.

“His name is Aldric. He is my Shadow Commander, so he will handle the registration.”

Magnus examined Aldric with interest.

“Oh, so you have chosen your Shadow Commander for this mission.”

“That’s right. I completely trust him to do the job.”

Magnus nodded.

“Very well. Now, when the identification document is ready, make sure to double-check the specifications before sending him to the Mercenary Guild. After all, the Mercenary Guild still has a verification procedure, so we can’t make any mistakes.”

“Don’t worry, Uncle. I will take care of it.”

With these words, having finalized the application and chosen the Shadow Commander for the mission, Lucian was glad that all the preparations were finally taking place. Upon leaving Magnus’ office, Lucian and Evelyn returned to Lucian’s room. Aldric followed them and stood quietly nearby.

Lucian turned to face his Shadow Commander.

“Aldric, you’ll represent Shadow Genesis at the Mercenary Guild. Once the citizenship identification document is ready, you’ll take it with you and complete the registration.”

Aldric nodded.

“Understood, Master.”

“Before that, maintain the physical appearance you obtained from the deseased. You should continue to maintain the same Martial Aura throughout the entire process.”

“I will follow your instructions.”

Lucian was pleased that Aldric understood his instructions. Although Aldric was his Shadow Commander, he did not want to assume any potential risks this time. It was not like the battle that he fought. Therefore, he had to rely on Aldric’s accuracy to comply with the regulations of the Mercenary Guild to complete the registration procedures. However, another problem still troubled Lucian. He wanted to make sure that Aldric fully understood his instructions.

Evelyn approached.

“Lucian, make sure Aldric knows the information written on the document,” said Evelyn. “In case the Mercenary Guild asks him anything, the information he provides should match the documents in the guild’s possession.”

“Of Course!”

Lucian turned to look at Aldric.

“Once the identification document arrives, I’ll go through everything with you. You have to answer the questions directly. Follow their instructions and avoid giving them unnecessary information.”

Aldric bowed.

“Understood, Master.”

Evelyn smiled.

“Good! At least you are taking the initiative to handle all the necessary arrangements this time, instead of waiting until the last minute”

Lucian gave Evelyn a sidelong glance.

“Can’t you let me enjoy my success?”

“Nope.”

Lucian groaned helplessly.

When Lucian first decided to register Shadow Genesis, he had never imagined that the citizenship identification problem would bring so many troubles, but it was fortunate that Magnus agreed to help obtain a citizenship identification document

Now all he could do was wait for the document to be ready.

“That’s it for today, Aldric,” said Lucian. “I will give you the final instructions tomorrow.”

Aldric nodded before returning to Lucian’s shadows. That evening, Magnus contacted him once more.

“The application has been submitted,” said Magnus. “It is currently handled by my administration, and the citizenship identification document should be ready within a day.”

Lucian smiled.

“Thank you, Uncle. You have given me great help.”

Magnus laughed.

“Just make sure you use that document for a good use. Although I helped you with the application, the Mercenary Guild still has the verification process.”

“I understand. Aldric will go through the required inspection procedures.”

“Good! Since you have already tested his physical appearance, Martial Aura, and blood, all we have to do is wait for the approval of the Mercenary Guild.”

Lucian nodded.

“As long as the document is ready, I will send Aldric to complete the registration procedures.”

“All right. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

After ending the call, Lucian leaned back in his chair. The situation was well under control. Magnus had taken care of the application procedures, and everything else was going to happen the way he wanted it to. All he had to do was wait until the next day. That night, Lucian sat in his room alongside Evelyn. She looked at him and said, “Are you confident about tomorrow?”Yes. Once the identification document arrives, Aldric will be able to go to the Mercenary Guild.”

Evelyn smiled.

“You are much better prepared now.”

“Of course. That is the lesson I learned.”

“Oh? What kind of a lesson is that?”

Lucian faced her.

“Having strong Shadow Soldiers is not enough. I need to consider the best ways to use their powers and abilities. In addition, I must also take into account the practical problems that may arise during the process.”

Evelyn nodded.

“That’s right. I’m glad you have learned this lesson.’

Lucian gave her a helpless look.

“Can’t you say a good word without making me feel like an idiot?”

She laughed.

“Who said you are an idiot? I was just pointing out that you may have thought about the documents from the beginning.”

“Fine, I admit I didn’t consider that at all.”

Evelyn smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder.

“At least the situation is well controlled now.”

Lucian gently grasped her hand. With a smile, he said, “Yes. Shadow Genesis can finally move on the first step. From there, I can work on my next objectives.”

“Then get some rest. You’ll need to give Aldric the final instructions tomorrow.” Lucian nodded. “Don’t worry, I trust Aldric to complete the registration procedures.”

Evelyn gave him a mischievous smile. “Let’s see how right you are!”

Lucian laughed. “It will be.”

After spending some time with her, Evelyn returned to her room. Meanwhile, Lucian sat in the room, worrying about the next day.

The application procedure had been submitted, and he expected the identification document to be ready soon. Furthermore, Aldric was determined to complete the mission, and the preparations were well under control. There was nothing more he had to do for tonight.

Lucian looked down at the shadow under his feet.

“Aldric, you will head to the Mercenary Guild as soon as the identification document is ready and register Shadow Genesis.”

The voice of Aldric echoed in his mind. “Understood, Master.”

Lucian smiled. Tomorrow, Shadow Genesis would take its first step.
