Born with Supreme Potential, Yet I Choose to Be a Kept Husband

Chapter 95: Destroys the Spirit Gathering Array!

It was unknown how long Lucian had spent coaxing her, but Evelyn finally stopped giving him the cold shoulder and began talking to him normally again.

However, the moment her anger subsided, her curiosity returned in full force.

"Lucian, why is your Martial Soul talent so ridiculously powerful? Is it really SSS-rank? I mean, manifesting your Martial Soul to fight enemies while you were still a Martial Artist was already unbelievable. But now that you’ve reached the Martial Master Realm, you can even transform into other people’s appearances!"

Evelyn looked at him with a mixture of curiosity and disbelief.

"I honestly don’t know either," Lucian replied with a shrug. "Didn’t I tell you before? It’s God-level. As for this transformation ability, I understand even less about it than you do."

He wasn’t lying. His abilities had continued to develop in unexpected ways, and even he couldn’t fully explain everything his Martial Soul could do.

Evelyn fell into thought before speaking again.

"Martial Artists use their Martial Souls as a medium to absorb the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. Before reaching the Martial General Realm, a Martial Soul usually doesn’t have any particularly extraordinary abilities."

She paused, trying to make sense of what she had witnessed.

"Even Martial Ancestors generally rely on martial intent and Spiritual Qi to manifest their power physically. I’ve never heard of a Martial Soul being used in such a way!"

The more Evelyn thought about it, the more unbelievable Lucian’s abilities seemed.

First, his Martial Soul could manifest independently and fight enemies. Now, it could transform into another person’s appearance and even replicate their characteristics.

None of this resembled the abilities of an ordinary Martial Soul.

Perhaps Lucian really was a unique existence unlike anyone else.

"Maybe I’m just that special!" Lucian said with a grin.

Then his expression became slightly more serious.

"Yaya, you’re the only person who knows about these abilities of mine. You have to keep them a secret, all right? This is a secret that belongs to the two of us."

Evelyn’s eyes softened when she heard that.

A secret shared exclusively between the two of them.

Just thinking about it made her feel strangely happy.

She nodded firmly.

"Mhm! Don’t worry. I definitely won’t tell anyone."

For Evelyn, keeping Lucian’s secret was a matter of course. But knowing that he had entrusted something so important to her made her feel even closer to him.

After all, there were some secrets that only two people in the world needed to know.

And this was one of theirs.

"What is going on here?"

Magnus’s eyes were fixed on Lucian. His intuition told him that Lucian was responsible for this mess once again.

The training room, which had previously been rich in Spiritual Energy, now resembled a barren desert, with the concentration of Spiritual Energy almost imperceptible.

The area where the Spirit Gathering Array had originally been located was now in shambles. The array had broken down and collapsed in an instant.

"Uncle... I think... I might have broken it."

Lucian looked at Magnus with an embarrassed expression.

Earlier, Lucian had been alone in the training room, wanting to experience what it felt like to have all 10,002 Shadow Soldiers cultivate at full power simultaneously.

At first, everything had gone smoothly, and Lucian had been holding back. However, after feeling the increasingly robust Spirit Fruit within his Soul Sea, he had let himself go for a moment.

The area around Lucian had become like a powerful water pump, frantically absorbing the twentyfold Spiritual Energy concentration in the training room.

However, less than fifteen minutes later, Lucian suddenly felt the Spiritual Energy in the room plummet.

At first, he thought the Spirit Stones supplying the array had run out, so he called Magnus over to investigate.

Only after Magnus examined the situation did Lucian realize that the Spirit Gathering Array had gone on strike because it couldn’t withstand the load, rather than because it had run out of Spirit Stones.

"How did you break it?"

Magnus looked at Lucian, recalling the previously broken force-measuring instrument and now the destroyed Spirit Gathering Array.

He couldn’t help but lament that this kid seemed to have a natural talent for destroying things.

"I was just cultivating. Everything was going fine, and then, all of a sudden, the Spiritual Energy disappeared."

Lucian explained, his voice lacking confidence.

"..."

Magnus fell silent.

Did Lucian have any idea what kind of training room he had been using?

It was a Tier 2 Spirit Gathering Array, one that had cost Magnus a considerable amount of money and precious materials to construct specifically for Evelyn.

One had to understand that this array could support two hundred Martial Artists at the Martial Master Realm cultivating at full power simultaneously. Even if hundreds more Martial Masters joined them, the worst that would happen was that the Spirit Stones supplying the main array would be depleted.

Yet Lucian had managed to drain all the Spirit Stones while cultivating alone and had even caused the entire Spirit Gathering Array to collapse.

Magnus had thought he understood Lucian’s abilities fairly well, but he was beginning to realize that the young man’s monstrous talent far exceeded his expectations.

"Uncle, I really didn’t do it on purpose. I just didn’t expect this Spirit Gathering Array to be so fragile."

Magnus’s eyelid twitched.

Listen to that! Was that something a normal person would say?

What did he mean by the array being so fragile?

"Uncle, I was wrong. I have ten Spirit Stones with me. I’ll give them all to you as compensation."

Although it pained him to part with them, Lucian still took out all ten of his Spirit Stones. After all, he was the one responsible for the damage.

"Dad, did you buy defective Formation Materials again? The force-measuring instrument broke last time, too. Why do these things break so easily?"

Evelyn had just returned from speaking with her grandmother and hadn’t expected the Spirit Gathering Array to break in such a short time.

Although she suspected Lucian was responsible—after all, she had witnessed his monstrous talent firsthand—seeing him offer all his Spirit Stones as compensation made her instinctively point the finger at her father instead.

Magnus looked at his daughter, who was so anxiously defending Lucian.

This girl doesn’t even believe her own excuse!

Forget it. Just forget it!

"Lucian, it’s fine. Evelyn is right. This Spirit Gathering Array might actually have some defects. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so fragile. I’ll replace it with a better one."

Magnus deliberately emphasized the word fragile, acting as though the whole incident were nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

"However, while I’m replacing the Spirit Gathering Array over the next two days, you’ll have to use either the clan’s training room or your school’s training room."

"The clan’s public training room has a thirtyfold Spiritual Energy concentration, but there are far too many people there," Evelyn said reluctantly.

"That place is filled with cultivators of all Realms, including numerous Dominators. It would be difficult for two low-level Martial Artists like us to cultivate there peacefully."

After a moment’s thought, Magnus spoke up.

"How about this? You can use my training room. I don’t need it right now anyway."

He had been worried that the incident might affect his daughter’s preparation for the college entrance examination, so he decided to let them use his own training room instead.

"Dad, do you mean the training room reserved exclusively for the Patriarch? Won’t the Elders object?"

Evelyn knew exactly which training room her father was referring to. It was equipped with a Tier 5 Spirit Gathering Array and reserved exclusively for the Patriarch.

"That’s my training room. I’m letting my own precious daughter use it. Who would dare object?"

Magnus didn’t seem concerned in the slightest.

Although the training room was reserved for his exclusive use, he had little need for it anymore.
