Bound to the eldritch Sea: SSS-Tier Navigator
Chapter 145: The Gap in Food and Supplies
Chapter 145: Chapter 145: The Gap in Food and Supplies
After sunrise, Kevin and the others finally returned to the "Daddy" Cannon.
Bruce Lee stood on his flying sword, staring at the massive battleship in front of him. He was completely frozen in place.
When he saw the modern cannons, main guns, and missile launchers, he rubbed his eyes in disbelief. "Did you guys rob a navy warship before the Eldritch arrived?"
Kevin glanced back at Bruce Lee and spread his hands. "Don’t just hang in the air. Find a spot on the deck to rest. The cabins are off-limits to you."
Bruce Lee shrugged. "Looks like you guys do know basic hospitality after all."
With that, Bruce Lee found a place on the deck, sat down cross-legged, and pulled out a bottle of water and a bag of dry bread. He started eating. "Don’t mind me. I’ll just check the latest rankings later."
Kevin glanced back at Bruce Lee, then led the girls back into the cabin.
After hearing about Kevin’s big fight with Bruce Lee, the girls were all curious about this Survivor they had never heard of before.
Raphael crossed her arms and said in a serious tone, "Looks like after a month of life-and-death trials, the truly talented Survivors are starting to master their power and get stronger. The balance of power on the Terror Sea might be about to change in a big way."
Kevin shook his head with a smile. "Don’t worry too much. No matter how much they change, they won’t be able to surpass us."
Kevin sounded very confident.
It wasn’t arrogance. It was because the girls had way too much loot and resources.
No matter how good other Survivors’ Talents were, they could never catch up against the sheer amount of resources the girls had piled up.
Just then, Stephanie walked into the dining room carrying trays of steaming hot dishes. "Good morning, everyone! Today we have steak and pies for breakfast."
Seeing the steaming hot food, Kevin, who had been busy all night, suddenly felt hungry.
He clapped his hands, grabbed a piece of steak, and stuffed it into his mouth. While eating, he kept an eye on the latest World Channel messages.
Just as he expected, in the newest rankings, whether it was team scores or individual scores, Kevin and his crew were still way ahead.
But the other Survivors didn’t seem surprised anymore. They didn’t react much.
The World Channel was mostly filled with Survivors sharing information and big factions posting recruitment messages.
Monchhichi looked at the recruitment posts and said seriously, "Should we really not think about building a large organization? With Captain Kevin’s reputation, if you just say the word and start recruiting, a lot of followers would definitely join."
Kevin chewed on his steak and shook his head. "Building a big organization would be more of a burden than a benefit for us. We’re trying to survive on the sea, not fight for territory. Having too many people isn’t really useful."
With that, Kevin turned and looked out the window.
The news about the Second Sea Area had given him a different perspective.
If there was no Second Sea Area, Kevin might have considered building a bigger force to give the people around him a better life.
But the Second Sea Area was just ahead. To survive there, and even in the Third Sea Area, Kevin and his companions had to become stronger.
So going the elite route was the right path.
Meanwhile, Bruce Lee sat on the deck eating his bread while sending messages to his teammates.
He found a good angle, took a selfie with the "Daddy" Cannon in the background, and sent it to his crew. "Check this out! Isn’t the flagship of the First Fleet awesome?"
Thousands of miles away on the sea, Banner and Sunny rubbed their foreheads, looking completely helpless.
They had just survived a large-scale attack last night, and now their Captain was out taking pictures with another fleet’s flagship?
Was that even okay?
Banner gritted his teeth. "Sunny, don’t stop me! I’m going to curse him out! We’re out here fighting to survive, and he’s off sightseeing with the First Fleet? Look, he’s even throwing up a peace sign! It’s so annoying!"
Sunny grabbed Banner and sighed. "Calm down. At least give me back the plate and fork. We only have a few sets of dishes left on the ship."
Hearing the word "dishes," Banner got even angrier. He took a photo and sent it straight to Bruce Lee.
The photo showed his breakfast: expired bread and Ghost Eye Barnacle sashimi.
"Captain, please come back. Without you, it’s hard for us to even find food."
Bruce Lee saw the picture Banner sent and knew his teammates were trying to guilt-trip him.
He patted his own breakfast and said casually, "These are tough times. Everyone has to hang in there.
Having bread to eat is already good. See? I’m just eating dry bread and drinking plain water too."
With that, Bruce Lee sent a photo of his breakfast. But Banner and Sunny just mocked him.
"Stop pretending, Captain. The First Fleet’s meals must be way better than ours. They get luxury rewards every day."
Sunny nodded seriously in agreement.
Then Banner sent another message: "Captain, are they just ignoring you on purpose? I heard they eat caviar, fresh salmon sashimi, A9 Wagyu beef, pizza, burgers, and whole roasted lamb every day. You haven’t tried any of that?"
Bruce Lee saw his teammates listing all those delicious foods just to stir him up. He got so annoyed that he closed the chat window.
He took a deep breath and suddenly felt like his mouth was dry and tasteless.
Just then, a rich aroma drifted over.
It smelled so good. Beef, and milk too.
Oh my god!
Bruce Lee couldn’t stay calm anymore.
He jumped up and followed the smell until he found the dining room window.
Through the glass, he saw Kevin and his crew lazily enjoying a feast.
On the table, there was every single dish Banner had just mentioned. There was even red wine and cigars.
Damn it. They were eating that well.
Bruce Lee clenched his fists and took a few deep breaths.
Then he turned around quickly, not daring to get near that window again.
He was afraid he might lose control and rush in, interrupting Kevin and his crew’s meal. His upbringing wouldn’t let him beg for food from others.
Just then, Bruce Lee felt something soft touch his back.
He turned around and saw Stephanie’s pale little hand resting on his shoulder. "Sir, you haven’t had breakfast yet, have you? There’s some bacon and beans here. I’m not sure if you’ll like them."
Bruce Lee looked down at the food in Stephanie’s hands and nodded without thinking.
Seeing this, Stephanie smiled sweetly and placed the food into Bruce Lee’s arms. "Go ahead and eat. I’ll come back to collect the dishes later."
Bruce Lee was stunned by Stephanie’s beautiful face. "My name is Bruce Lee. What’s yours?"
"I’m Stephanie." Stephanie hopped back into the cabin and continued with her work.
What a sweet girl.
Bruce Lee had a very good impression of Stephanie.
Coupled with Stephanie’s great figure and looks, Bruce Lee felt his heart race.
Damn it, Kevin. How did he end up with so many beautiful girls on his ship?
Bruce Lee chewed on the bacon and gritted his teeth.
He quietly followed Stephanie to a window. Through it, he saw her wearing a work uniform and cleaning up.
Seeing this, Bruce Lee’s eyes went wide.
That bastard Kevin. He actually made such a beautiful girl do this kind of lowly work.
You deserve to die!
Half an hour later, Stephanie came to find Bruce Lee again.
She smiled as she took the empty plate from him and handed him a bottle of water.
Bruce Lee patted the seat next to him and invited Stephanie to chat for a bit.
Stephanie gave him a sweet smile and sat down across from him.
She picked up her water cup, took a sip, and then swallowed a pill.
"What’s that?" Bruce Lee asked curiously.
Stephanie gave an awkward smile. "Vitamins."
In truth, Stephanie was taking birth control pills that she produced herself every day.
Out here on this terrifying sea, she had zero combat ability.
So she had to avoid anything that might attract Eldritch Entities.
Birth control pills helped prevent the bloody scent that comes with a woman’s period.
That’s why Stephanie and the other girls on the ship took them almost every day.
But she didn’t want to admit to Bruce Lee that it was birth control.
Bruce Lee took her at her word.
After sailing on this terrifying sea for a month, he was seriously lacking in vitamins.
His lips were dry and cracked, and he felt a physical craving for them. "Can I have one?"
Stephanie felt awkward when she heard that.
After what happened with Leo, she didn’t dare to lie to people.
But this Bruce Lee wasn’t really one of her crewmates, right?
Giving him one pill probably wouldn’t cause any big problems.
So she took out the bottle and handed Bruce Lee two pills.
"I have things to do. I’ll go now." Stephanie didn’t dare to stay any longer. She got up and went back into the cabin.
Bruce Lee tossed both pills into his mouth, chewed them up, and said to himself, "What a nice girl."
After breakfast, Kevin gathered all his crew members on the bridge.
After days of searching, they still hadn’t found the island where the evil god’s followers were hiding.
Little by little, Kevin was losing patience.
"Searching like this is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Maybe we should work harder every day and kill two more rounds of Eldritch Entities. The rewards might be better," Raphael said, sighing as he looked at the sea chart.
Kevin tapped the table lightly and shook his head. "No. The C-Tier items dropped by normal Eldritch Entities are too low in level. Let’s search for one more day. If we still can’t find anything, I’ll spend some resources to buy information about the evil god’s followers from the black market."
Kevin then summoned several Bear Form Mist Phantoms again and ordered them to fly in four directions to look for any suspicious islands.
