Chapter 1957: Choosing Class And Subclass
-----
Elayne was teleported to the Class Changing Room—the same one her daughter had described to her. It was a completely white chamber floating amid an endless, colorless void.
In the center stood a small altar with a holographic panel.
[Please choose the Class style you need.]
[CLASSIC CLASS SELECTION]
[RANDOM CLASS GENERATOR]
"Classic or Random, huh?" Elayne thought. "Elena mentioned this too... Let’s see."
[Classic Class Selection]
[Warrior]
[Archer]
[Mage]
[Healer]
[Rogue]
[Random Class Generator]
Newly implemented feature. Uses advanced generative AI to create a unique class based on the user’s soul signature, memories, and subconscious desires.
Warning: Results may be... unpredictable. There is no guarantee the class will be strong or effective, and it might even weaken the user. Choose with care.
"So classic means the basic classes, while random can be anything," Elayne thought. "Right now I just need more power—any kind of power..."
As a Heroic Spirit, Elayne had few weaknesses beyond those inherent to her nature. What she needed most was raw strength, no matter the source. Though she felt drawn to a Magician Class, she ultimately made up her mind.
"Classes... In BNLO I was always a Farmer," Elayne said with a warm smile as memories flooded back. "There’s no Farmer option here, unfortunately. Well then... let’s go with Random."
She nodded, choosing it because the five classic classes felt far too ordinary for a woman who had grown accustomed to her highly customized classes and their endless evolutions in BNLO.
Elayne clicked the option. A new screen appeared, displaying words rapidly assembling and reassembling at random.
"Hm? It really is random..."
She waited one or two minutes until the process finally stopped.
In that instant, her vision exploded with countless colors splashing across the once-white canvas. The dull space suddenly brimmed with brightness and beauty.
"Colors?"
Ding!
[Class Assigned: Spirit Painter – Tier 1]
You are a novice painter with a great affinity for spirits—an incredibly rare class with limitless potential. The world is your canvas, and you are its painter.
[You learned the Class Skill: Canvas Domain – Tier 1 (Level 1/10)]
[You learned the Class Skill: Spirit Ink Creation – Tier 1 (Level 1/10)]
[You acquired the Talent: Artist (A)]
[All Stats have increased by +5,000.]
[Your Level Cap has increased to 200.]
"Amazing," Elayne whispered, a bright smile spreading across her face. "It’s really... quite unique. Spirit Painter? I... I don’t even know what to say."
She fell silent as she examined the class icon: a paintbrush dripping with rainbow-colored, sparkling ink.
"I suppose after learning Painting and awakening that paintbrush dream weapon, this was bound to happen," she sighed. "Maybe I should have chosen Warrior or Tank instead..."
Elayne wasn’t sure whether this would truly benefit her, but at least she still possessed all her original power.
"For now, that should be—Oh?"
Another notification appeared, and the word "Class" had changed to "Subclass."
"Right, I can choose my Subclass now..."
To her surprise, Subclass selection was far more varied than the Classic and Random options for main Classes.
[Available Subclasses Unlocked]
[Mother]
[Teacher]
[Massagist]
[Chef]
[Heroic Spirit]
[Gaia]
[Tartarus]
[Vampiress]
[BNLO Nostalgia Fan]
[Dreamer]
"W-What are these options?!" Elayne exclaimed, stunned. "Elena only got four, but this is ridiculous! Mother is a Subclass? Teacher, Massagist, Chef... those seem normal. But Heroic Spirit? Gaia? Tartarus? Vampiress?! No, absolutely not. I’ve already had enough of their influence—more might destroy me..."
Elayne panicked for a moment before slowly regaining her composure. She examined each option carefully, reading the short descriptions provided.
[Mother]
You are the devoted mother of two children. This Subclass will help you protect and raise them better.
[Teacher]
You are a beloved teacher. This Subclass will enhance your teaching ability and increase your students’ learning speed.
[Massagist]
You are a professional massagist whose hands bring blissful relief. Your massages can heal injuries and illnesses.
[Chef]
You are an exceptional cook capable of creating incredible dishes with any ingredient. Everything you prepare strengthens those who eat it.
[Heroic Spirit]
You are a Heroic Spirit who serves your master and fights in the Holy War. This Subclass will help you fulfill your purpose more effectively.
[Gaia]
You are the vessel of Gaia’s myth and possess part of her powers. This Subclass will awaken more of her essence, personality, and soul within you.
[Tartarus]
You are the vessel of Tartarus’ myth and possess part of his powers. This Subclass will awaken more of his essence, personality, and soul within you.
[Vampiress]
You are a creature of the night that craves the blood of others. You grow stronger by consuming blood. This Subclass will help you develop these abilities and manage your own vampire clan.
[BNLO Nostalgia Fan]
You are deeply obsessed with the discontinued MMO, Brand New Life Online. This Subclass will help you... maybe.
[Dreamer]
Forever dreaming, caught between the Plane of Dreams and reality. This Subclass will allow you to awaken further as a Dreamer and see what others cannot.
"These are really interesting..." Elayne murmured. "Gaia and Tartarus are definitely out—I don’t need any more of their influence. Mother is appealing. BNLO Nostalgia Fan is the strangest one; it barely explains anything. Vampiress sounds tempting, but building a vampire clan would be a huge distraction... And Dreamer... it actually sounds quite intriguing."
Elayne wavered between Nostalgia Fan and Dreamer, weighing which would serve her best.
But which one would she ultimately choose?
Elayne felt torn between Nostalgia Fan and Dreamer, her heart racing as she weighed the possibilities. One option pulled at her with warm, familiar nostalgia. The other whispered of something deeper, something vast and unknown.
She closed her eyes for a long moment, letting her instincts guide her. The Spirit Painter class had already surprised her with its colorful, artistic nature. Choosing something safe or overly sentimental now felt wrong. She needed growth. She needed power that could match the overwhelming responsibilities waiting for her.
"BNLO Nostalgia Fan would be fun..." she murmured with a small, bittersweet smile. "But I can’t afford to pick something just for comfort. Not anymore."
Her finger hovered over the options. Then, with quiet resolve, she tapped the one that called to her most.
