Chapter 230 Unseen Message

A moan left Mira’s lips as she awakened from her slumber. She lifted her head up and tilted it to the side to meet The Leadjng Cheetah’s. Ming Tao was fast asleep.

A smile curled on Mira’s lips as she watched him. The man couldn’t even keep to his promise and watch her all night, this made Mira blush and roll her eyes. He looked so beautiful with his eyes close. He had those same sharp features she loved while he was awake and wondered how it was humanely possible for him to look this good even while sleeping.

Mira lifted her hand up and let a finger rest on his face, just on the bridge of his nose. She paused to see if he would react, he did not, he was deep in sleep. This made her trail her finger over his nose, feeling his face.

"My husband is handsome." Mira whispered. "I feel like a lucky woman." She grinned.

"Why, thank you but I should say that myself about you." Ming Tao responded.

This made Mira freeze, her facial expression change into one of embarrassment and she took her hand off of him.

"Please, don’t let me stop you from touching me, wife." Ming Tao murmured. His eyes were still closed. Mira had no idea that he was awake, had he been awake the entire time? What if she said something that she was not supposed to say in the time the thought him sleeping?

"Do not scare me like that, I’m fragile." Mira nagged.

Ming Tao’s lips curled. "My apologies, my darling wife."

Mira pouted, his smile made his apology seem like a tease.

"Apology not accepted!" She beamed then turned her head to the other side, Mira did not change from her confortable position on the bed but she could turn her head away from him, which she did.

A body pulled closer to hers. Mira felt Ming Tao’s warmth on her side and his hand wrapped around her. His face made it to her neck and he gave her a short kiss. "I’m sorry, my darling. Please forgive me." Ming Tao whispered.

Mira felt cross, that was an unfair way to apologise, he knew the effect he had on her and played the cards right. "I will think about it." She stated. Ming Tao’s nose settled on her neck and she felt his breath ravage onto her skin.

"That is better than nothing, okay love." He murmured.

[Thinking about forgiving him for pretending to be asleep is one of the wildest things I’ve ever heard in the entire existence of the beast world, host! ] System chimed. Mira pouted, she was unsure if it was because she was pregnant that this seemed reasonable and like a big deal but she did not want to deal with that right now.

The sound of music filled Mira’s ears. It was then she remembered what night tonight was. Shoot! She was late. They were both late!

"Ming Tao, the celebration. . ." Mira uttered softly.

"Are you ready to attend? It lasts all night till morning so there is time for you to take your time." He said to her.

This man just offered Mira a ticket to be lazy and she wanted to take it so badly but she reminded herself the reason she was here in the first place.

"I am ready. Let us do the first step of introducing our child into the world."

Ming Tao raised his head up the bed and sat up. "Let us get right into it, then."

They had both freshened up. They had a nice warm bath and changed into the appropriate clothes before stepping outside.

Mira had a lot of cheetahs stare her way with every step she took, it was then she remembered that she had been isolated for weeks and the stares were knocking at her anxiety and made her overt self aware.

Mira let her hand reach for Ming Tao and grip tight into his robe. Her body was pressed to his and he had his hand placed around her waist, holding her while her hand which was in contact with his body in this pose was tucked by her side.

"Do I look okay?" Mira asked him, she sounded nervous. "So many eyes are looking my way and I cannot help but wonder if there is something wrong g with my face or clothes." She swallowed.

Ming Tao let a finger circle her side, still keeping his hand on her waist. "Yes darling, you look beautiful." He worded. "The cheetahs are intrigued. Never have they witnessed the heir of the clan be born so they are expressing that wonder by staring at the woman housing the true born cub." He explained.

Right, Mira thought to herself, these beast people were the kind of people she was warned about on earth, the ones who would easily turn on you then be kind to you when you do something for them and also be surprised by your success. She let out a sigh, at least her face was perfect and she looked sane, for that much Mira was glad. What she wanted now more than ever was to push this baby out of her stomach so she can continue living her life like a normal human being without an extra weight following her around everywhere.

[Then you would move on to your next husband! ] System chimed.

This made Mira feel uneasy. She knew she was bound to Alpha Wolf Wei Jie but she was not sure that she was ready so leave the cheetah cub and live with him. So far, he had been everything but kind to her even when he knew she was innocent. When Mira thought Ming Tao was difficult, nature presented her with Wei Jie.

Please do not remind me, Mira said in her mind to system, I want to live in the moment, she added when a thought came to her mind. It was now she remembered that system had said something to her in the room but she was too sleepy to see or hear it.

By the way, system- Mira asked when she was interrupted by Ming Tao.

"Darling, it is time to be at the cheetahs’ outdoor throne. The announcement will begin now." Were the words that stopped her question.

Mira looked up to face Ming Tao then nodded with a smile. He led her to a path that she had never crossed before even though she had lived her for a long time but she did not say a word, she was more interested in what it was that system had said earlier tonight.

Being a pregnant woman, Mira was concerned if it had anything to do with her baby. And she hoped if it did, it was only positive news.
