Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game
Chapter 1002 - 522: She’s So Delicate, Even More Than Me
Trying hard to conceal the ups and downs inside, yet unable to control her eyes from glancing outward, is that woman in the middle of the crowd his new flame? A man like him doesn’t lack women, or it could be said that a man like him simply can’t do without women. Her heart aches as if pricked by a needle, she doesn’t understand why it feels this way.
That girl is indeed young and beautiful, tall and slender with a pair of enviable long legs, a pale yellow cocktail dress exuding the fresh breath of spring. Avery Jane looked at her own neat and formal uniform, the black small suit and white shirt, truly dull to the extreme, quietly lowered her eyelids, her long lashes covering the bitterness in her heart......
"Avery Jane, it’s lunchtime, want to have lunch together?" Avery heard the clean and pleasant voice from behind, without looking she knew it was Beckett Wright. By coincidence, Grant’s flagship store is also in this shopping plaza, they accidentally met two days ago. Beckett often comes to see her when he has time, just like now. She has an hour for lunch, and he would come to invite her to have lunch together. Beckett is a man with whom interaction feels very comfortable, never making you feel constrained or awkward, even when inviting her it’s just a simple clean meal. She understands his feelings, especially after recovering all her memories, yet this moist and jade-like man always makes it hard for her to refuse him. Perhaps she longs for someone to accompany her, to talk with her. She has been lonely, since before the age of fifteen she was very lonely; her father besides drinking never cared much about her. After fifteen, Wenyard Cooper accompanied her for a long time, until he protected her with his life. Later, it was the most tumultuous and intense time of her life, Joshua Hughes brought her a different world, inflicted cruelest harm upon her, yet he had once tenderly loved her like a princess. After all these people left, she truly became all alone, like a lone bird separated from its flock.
:"Let’s go, I’ve already ordered food in my studio, it’ll be quick. Today is the first-day exhibition of my only set of works this year, I would like to invite you to take a look." Smiling gently, his narrow eyes seemed to have the breeze of spring pass through them. Beckett looked at the clean and simple girl in front of him, who would think she was once Joshua Hughes’ woman? That kind of pure aura on her has never changed ever since he first met her.
Avery nodded, greeted other colleagues, and went out with Beckett.
Grant is the most exquisite store in the entire plaza and the one women most desire to walk into. Inside are displayed the most beautiful, most expensive diamonds, even the choosiest person can always find something they like there, or they may arrange for a designer in his studio to customize something they want, though the cost of a unique design is noble, some people still are willing to spend a fortune under Beckett’s name for a design.
In the most conspicuous place in the middle of the shop, there was a necklace on display, Beckett guided her to the necklace. Avery looked at the necklace, so beautiful, its beauty almost stealing her breath away.....
Sinuous and fluent lines, adorned with very fine diamonds, it doesn’t have that feeling of extreme opulence. Yet it is breathtakingly beautiful, every piece of design exudes gentle and delicate love, like the subtlety of a spring breeze, like the tenderness of summer night stars. Beside it lays a small silver card, with two words written on it "Spread"........
Avery’s gaze inadvertently dimmed, if Joshua Hughes weren’t there, perhaps she would slowly accept such a man, clean, gentle, meticulous. But Joshua Hughes, that strong and domineering man, used all sorts of extreme methods to leave on her something like an indelible seal. Whenever she thinks of him her heart aches, aches so much that she dares not think, yet feels like her entire heart is hollowed out.
:"What’s wrong, isn’t it beautiful?" Beckett stood by her side, smiling tenderly. :"You have only ten minutes to give comments, then we’ll have twenty minutes to gobble down a meal, and I’ll walk you back." Easy does it, Beckett knows Avery cannot accept him right now, so he’s not rushing.
