Eliza Bell’s cat-like eyes sparkled, a sly little smile playing at her lips: "What Joshua Hughes wants to do has nothing to do with me. But what do you want?" Anyway, Joshua had already sent over the shares, and she could roughly guess what would happen to the Hughes Clan. Perhaps the seemingly sky-high eight percent equity document she held might soon turn into a blank sheet, and the truly valuable thing might be this document right now?

She spoke with a bit of a hum and a whine, as if slightly coquettish yet somewhat dissatisfied, her words so ambiguous that they caused uncontrollable wild thoughts.

"Miss Bell, can you speak seriously?" Julian Carter’s brows furrowed coldly, his tone was not very good, somewhat admonishing this flirtatious little woman sitting there.

"What counts as speaking seriously? Should we talk about the weather, or about poetry and songs? Discuss those antiques downstairs that are centuries old? Julian, you need to figure out, do you really like living with a woman who wears a mask all day and lacks any fun? Think it over really well..." Her words were drawn out so long they could almost melt a man’s bones, though his bones had hardened into steel after years with Joshua Hughes.

This kind of woman is the type he dislikes most, her nagging skilled to the highest degree, nearly driving someone to collapse. This partially formed fox spirit should just have a rock tied to her and be thrown into the park pond, so his world could be peaceful.

"If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave." His voice was indifferent and chilling, causing Eliza’s whole body to shiver. She wondered what a man like him sounded like in bed; would he sound just as cold? God help me, Eliza called out in her mind; what was wrong with her, did she like him too much? Why did she want to pounce on him whenever she saw him? Maybe it was because he resembled those tall, lean, cool male leads in anime that made her have all kinds of fantasies about him.

She stood up and looked at him furiously; he was really tall. Because she was barefoot, their height gap seemed even larger. Her long lashes trembled lightly, eyes shimmering, biting her lip. This man really was clueless; even though she was acting like this, he still wanted to leave. He didn’t want to stay and chat a little longer?

A wave of grievance welled up from her heart, and then, suddenly rising to tiptoe, she bit his chin...

"You..." Julian Carter gasped. Was this woman crazy? His face turned livid as his hands tightly clamped this woman’s soft, willow-like waist.

"Let go..." Her small sharp teeth bit at his square-formed, dignified chin. Julian pressed down the fire within him, speaking in a hoarse voice.

Her soft, fragrant body pressed closely against him; her fingers traced his solid chest, eyes shimmering with a seductive light. Suddenly grabbing onto his tie, she used all her strength to yank it, bringing his head down unexpectedly. Standing on tiptoe, she lifted her head and fiercely kissed his ice-cold, thin lips...

Julian Carter reached out a hand, trembling slightly, and forcefully pried her hand off his tie, stepping back awkwardly, standing and panting as he stared at her intently.

"So rough, but I like it..." Truly an insensitive stone; how could he bear to push her away at a moment like this?

"You’re insane..." Julian Carter glared at her, his face livid with fury as he gritted out, "Eliza Bell, you better explain, what exactly do you want to do?" Faced with his almost roaring voice, Eliza seemed much calmer. It was just a kiss; why such a big reaction? Was he really that kind of man indifferent to women?

She smiled and moved closer to him, her enchanting voice wafting over like night fog: "You still don’t know what I want to do? Are you being coy? I wanted to see what it feels like to kiss you, but your reaction is too much. How will you repay the night you owe me? Will you be so excited you pass out? Or are you just unable..." Her laughter resembled a forest sprite, bewildering others.

Julian Carter’s slender, upright body stiffened, his fingers clenching one by one into fists. He didn’t know what to say; damn it, couldn’t this woman be a bit more reserved, or at least shy?

The feeling of not controlling the development of things deeply stimulated him. Not hearing any sound, Eliza lifted her eyes to look at him, laughing enchantingly: "What’s wrong? Reminiscing about that kiss just now? Was it your first kiss? Actually, that wasn’t a kiss; this is..."

While he was still dazed, she repeated the action from before, and her soft lips pressed against his once again.

His breath was clean and pleasant, with a faint tobacco scent. She didn’t even close her eyes; the bright light nearly stung Julian Carter’s eyes...

For some reason, a trace of delightful tingling passed through his heart. Julian’s eyes emitted a brilliant, dazzling light, as bright as stars. His cold, hoarse voice spoke icily: "Don’t provoke me; if you really push me, you can’t handle it..."

Eliza Bell’s small face turned red, her watery eyes fixed on him, her chin tilted as she looked at the man.

Having stayed by Joshua Hughes for so long, she was already used to having all her nerves tightly stretched. Those days amid bullets and knives never made him feel this sudden surge of panic and chaos. This woman seemed determined to stir him to the point of losing control, into utter confusion.

How could there be such a cheeky woman? Just thinking about it made Julian’s head ache terribly.

"What’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable?" His expression was a bit unusual as her slender fingers reached out. He wanted to dodge but it was too late; her cool hand gently touched his forehead, feeling a slight heat. "Are you feverish or...?"

No, you’re scoundrels; your whole family are fevers.

Julian Carter cursed lowly in his heart: "I’m fine; move your hand away..."

He lightly furrowed his brows and forcefully shook off her hand. Eliza Bell’s clear eyes sparkled with complex emotions—hurt, grievance, and affection—all mixed together, like spring sunlight spilling through bamboo blinds, fragmented and soft. Long lashes trembled, she chuckled lightly: "Julian, maybe you don’t know, but I’ve liked you for a long time..."

Eliza trembled slightly all over; this was the last time, the last time she’d confess boldly to a man, disregarding a woman’s dignity. Her own boldness even frightened herself; what if he still rejected her?
