The words he just said had already carried a heavy scent of gunpowder; everyone present could sense it.

Yet, this is Las Vegas, not the domain of Joshua Hughes. Tate Hunter sneered, "Why, can’t we inspect the cards?"

"You’re a casino regular, yet you don’t understand this rule? You can certainly inspect the cards, but if that Ace of Hearts wasn’t cheated, then the price you pay will be double. Can you afford that?" Joshua Hughes’s voice was chilling without a trace of warmth, looking indifferently and coldly at the man opposite him.

"Fair enough. Now Miss Jane can state your demands." Tate Hunter was thoroughly confident because when he watched the dealer shuffle the cards, the Ace of Hearts should have been the tenth card from the end. So when he saw Avery Jane’s card, he knew he had already won.

She could never get that Ace of Hearts, yet when she revealed it, it was exactly the most unlikely card, so he concluded that this woman must have been cheating. Her technique was exceptional, hiding any traces. However, if the cards were checked, the issue would surely come to light. Since Joshua Hughes had sided with the Parker Family, there was no concern about offending anyone.

Joshua Hughes’s eyes were ice cold; at the corners of his lips, a reckless smile emerged as he looked down at Avery Jane: "Avery, don’t be afraid. Just say which part of him you want, it doesn’t matter if you go too far."

His voice was unhurried, carrying a unique magnetism, like radio waves entering everyone’s ears. Everyone thought Joshua Hughes made the statement because of the life-and-death contract, allowing the winner to make any demand. But only Avery Jane knew, Joshua was telling her that no matter what happened, he would handle it for her.

When did he come to Las Vegas? In truth, when she drew that King of Hearts, she should have realized perhaps Joshua Hughes had arrived, which is why the king was in her hand.

She had already made the most terrifying gamble, then why not bet again that this man would really make that Ace of Hearts disappear from the deck. Her lowered eyelashes lightly lifted like small fans fluttering, her eyes more alluring and mysterious than a cat’s, a stream of light flowing through them. Her clear voice was tinged with a bit of sweetness, even a touch of seduction and innocence: "I want his three index fingers."

The moment she said this, everyone present was stunned. This delicate beauty demanding such a bloody request was truly shocking...

In the central position, Vincent Hunter sat with a waxy complexion. What was meant to come would always come, but this girl’s courage was too great. To dare cheat in front of so many people, although he hadn’t seen how the card was switched, since his son said so, there must be an issue.

Today, if his son won, it would be fine, but if he lost and they really dared demand his son’s fingers, there would be no walking out of Las Vegas. He raised his hand to signal, and the person behind him immediately bent down, attentively listening to instructions.

"Then let me state my demand, Miss Jane; how about coming out tonight for a chat?" He said chat, but everyone understood the implication, and the crowd began to murmur.

"Inspect the cards." Joshua Hughes’s voice ground out with a hoarse undertone, his gaze at Tate Hunter cold as ice, carrying a lethal intent that almost seemed to wish to end him. To dare covet Avery Jane, he shouldn’t just lose his fingers....

She was afraid, her petite body shrinking slightly in his embrace; he knew very well, no matter how well she gambled, how skillful her tricks were, how she tried to beguile men on the surface, she ultimately remained the pure Avery Jane as clear as a pool of water. Her world was so black and white that the sudden overflow of bloody affairs had pushed her endurance to the limit.

Lowering his head, he gently kissed her cool forehead; at this moment, she was so frightened that she stayed obediently in his embrace, quiet as a small pet without any resistance. But once this ordeal passed, she would revert to that cold, indifferent demeanor that ignored him completely. Thinking about this, he held her tighter, as if afraid she might vanish. Reluctant to force her, even seeing her fear once pained him to his core, so offending others didn’t concern him at all......
