The banquet had been underway for a while now, about to reach the climax. Joshua Hughes was supposed to go on stage to give a speech. Even though he wasn’t fond of these formalities, everyone was there to support him today, so he had to say the necessary words, even if just perfunctorily. But he was nowhere to be found. Julian Carter wore a stern face, wondering what mess this was again. It was about to start, how were they going to handle this? He had always felt like punching someone, but today, the urge was especially strong.

In the vast Hughes Clan, there were no more than two places he could be. The most likely place would be his office. Slowly retreating from the luxurious venue, Julian headed towards the elevator. Eliza Bell stood far behind him, smiling like a charming and enchanting little fox. Offend the boss, and you’ll be fired, especially if the boss is unsatisfied with his desires...

In the office at the top floor, the air was almost ignited by the passion there. Joshua Hughes’s deep eyes burst with a bewitching light in his intoxication, his breath scorching. His hand slid along her graceful body line downwards, until her knee, with irresistible strength, he parted the crook of her leg. Her white mini-dress was still neatly on her, just a bit wrinkled, slightly disordered. Her long eyelashes trembled with her eyes closed, biting her rosy lips hard, too embarrassed to make a sound: "Baby, don’t be afraid, call out, nobody will hear here..." Joshua’s husky voice carried strong lust.

Yet she couldn’t let go, dazed as if returning to those past, lingering times. Her face flushed with intoxicating redness, the helpless and nervous look further plucked at Joshua’s heartstrings. His fingers slowly deepened their exploration, flowing with repressed sweat on his robust back. He had long avoided her, fearing to hurt her if she wasn’t sufficiently impassioned...

Finally, when touching a certain point, her small hand that clutched him trembled, seemingly reaching the limit. His fingers stayed within her, feeling the bursts of suffocating tautness and contraction...

He withdrew her already limp hand, tearing off that delicate little undergarment, reigniting the scorching ambiance of the room...

She knew what he wanted to do, weakly resisting against his chest, her little hand smeared with ambiguous liquid: "No..." softly rejecting...

:"Baby, you’re already so wet..."

She struggled to sit up, it was too fast, really too fast, it wasn’t right...

Her body and will meeting in conflict, the door was violently pushed open, a frigid voice like thunder splitting the sky, cleaving her still bewildered soul in two.

:"Boss, you’re almost..." Julian Carter pushed open the office door, then froze for a moment, swiftly turning around. Though the young lady seemed well-dressed, revealing nothing to him, he still had to avert his eyes. It looked like they had just started, but what day was this? Knowing how starved the boss was, he hadn’t been with a woman for a long time, yet what day was today? Julian bit his teeth secretly and turned back. As a diligent and competent assistant, he should remind the boss of the current time and what he ought to be doing.

Upon closer look, it was Avery Jane, no wonder, truly a femme fatale, she couldn’t pick another time? Yet she hadn’t received an invitation, how did she end up here?

"It’s not like that, I...he...he’s drunk...it’s not what you think..." Avery Jane was embarrassed and angry, pushing Joshua Hughes away, standing like a guilty student caught off guard. What was this, how would others view her? How could one live like this?

Drunk? This year’s jokes got colder and colder, could Joshua Hughes get drunk? With his drinking capacity, could a couple of drinks make him drunk? Julian Carter laughed coldly inside, it seemed the boss’s shamelessness had escalated to a level he could barely comprehend.

"It’s really not like that, I..." Avery Jane was on the verge of tears from anxiety. The man behind her got up, embracing her from behind without buttoning his shirt: "Don’t be afraid, it’s fine." Commanding Julian Carter with his eyes to leave.

Avery Jane suddenly realized, turning to look at Joshua Hughes, did he appear drunk at all? Except for the diminishing scent of alcohol on him.

He wasn’t drunk at all.
