Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game
Chapter 998: Bagged Instant Noodles You Wanted
The heart was hollowed out, leaving only a bloody hole. Joshua Hughes took a deep drag from his cigarette, and the white smoke drifted around, blurring his sharp features. As soon as Julian Carter entered the office, he smelled the smoke. The boss hadn’t smoked for a while because Miss Jane would come into the conference room; she didn’t like the smell of smoke, so the boss stopped. But now, looking at the beautiful black crystal ashtray on the table, it was almost overflowing.
"Boss, it’s time for lunch, are you going to eat with me? Or should I bring it back for you?" Julian Carter guessed that he would most likely have to bring it back. The boss’s mood had hit rock bottom, and he was probably not interested in eating out.
"Bring me a packet of instant noodles." The man sitting behind the desk had a hoarse voice, permeated with tiredness, heartache, and an inexplicable despair.
Julian Carter made sure he hadn’t misheard. He really said to bring a packet of instant noodles. What was happening here? Changing tastes wasn’t supposed to be like this; everyone was going crazy...
Packaged instant noodles are very cheap. He got a bowl, boiled water, put the noodle block into the bowl, tore open the seasoning packet, poured it in, added the boiling water, covered it, and took it in.
"The instant noodles will be ready in five minutes." Julian Carter finished up and left with a cold expression. He was going mad; he couldn’t go mad with him. Now, he should go and have a proper meal. These past few days, to speed things up, he had been working almost day and night. Eating instant noodles, something that doesn’t fill you up, really drove him crazy. No way, not eating it.
He lifted the lid, and the pungent smell from all sorts of seasoning hit him in the face. Joshua Hughes picked up the chopsticks and began to eat the instant noodles, bite by bite. It wasn’t an unbearably bad taste, but it was certainly not good. When she was with him, even if it was the fruit she wanted to eat, he would personally ensure it wasn’t just the best, but also the freshest and safest before she saw it. But now she was eating this kind of thing?
Who would teach him what to do? Who would teach him? He wanted to give her the best life, thought about offering the whole world to her feet, but she left so decisively. She hated him, disliked him, even disdainfully refusing to say a few more words to him, unwilling to hear any of his explanations.
He ate slowly, the noodles had become soft and mushy. He swallowed them as if he were swallowing the bitterest of herbs. Is this what she’s been eating these past few days? His handsome face was pale and tense, his heart was fiercely gripped by that bowl, his eyes filled with deep guilt and longing. If he continued like this, he would go insane, he would definitely go insane...

Finding an employee who is quiet, obedient, works steadily, and doesn’t cause trouble is the most satisfying thing. This Avery Jane is indeed excellent; on her first day, she stood for eight hours. She clearly saw her heels were rubbed red, yet this girl didn’t make a sound. Moreover, she was quite popular with the customers, her beauty was enough to bring her good performance.
Eliza Bell, wearing high heels, click, clack, click, clack, walked around the mall. That big iceberg actually took the initiative to ask her out, but it just wasn’t convenient for her these past few days. She had cursed nearly ten thousand times. How could it come at such a critical moment? But there was still a chance. She had seen Julian Carter a few times, always wearing the same tie. Someone like him, a workaholic, definitely wouldn’t spend effort on trivial matters like this, so she decided to come out and get him some ties.
The golden and brown hues mixed, with the seasonal new arrivals displayed in large floor-to-ceiling windows. As she walked into the store, Eliza Bell’s eyes glanced around. She saw various colors and patterns of ties displayed on a simple, stylish white rack.
"Are you looking for a tie, Miss?" Standing in front of the rack, carefully considering what kind of tie the thousand-year-old iceberg would use, a pleasing, sweet voice sounded next to her ear. This voice was truly inviting, without impurities, clean and transparent. She turned her gaze, and she stood there, as if frozen by a spell.
The woman in front of her had features as painted, as if a younger aunt from an old family photo had been reborn...
"Miss, are you alright? Feeling unwell?" Avery Jane looked at the girl in front of her. She must be about her age, wearing a black little jacket, a red bud skirt, and black peep-toe high heels, as beautiful as a model walking off a magazine.
