Chapter 372: Chapter 352: Secret

CRACK!

The sound of shattering echoed.

Under the overwhelming, crushing force of the Qiankun Ruyi Staff, the Blood Moon Saber broke apart inch by inch.

But the remaining power of Chen Li’s strike, still carrying the force to split mountains and shatter stone, came crashing down.

In that instant between life and death, as his weapon shattered, the Seven Kills Ancestor desperately twisted his body backward and to the side.

"SPLAT!"

Blood sprayed through the air.

The long, black staff had landed squarely on his right shoulder.

His entire right arm, along with a large part of his shoulder, exploded like a watermelon struck by a sledgehammer.

A mixture of blood and pulverized cloth sprayed out in a horrifying scarlet arc.

"You son of a bitch! You deserve to die!"

The heart-rending agony caused the Seven Kills Ancestor to let out a shrill, inhuman scream.

His ruined body was thrown backward, crashing hard into the snow dozens of yards away and carving out a long, crimson-stained trench.

Before his scream had even faded, a dense, viscous cloud of blood-red light erupted from the top of his head.

The bloody light coalesced in the air, forming a two-foot-tall shadow composed entirely of dense, sanguine light.

A Primordial Spirit!

Chen Li’s pupils contracted sharply.

This was the hallmark of the Spirit Realm’s Seventh Level, the Guiyuan Pass.

But in the fight just now, the strength the Seven Kills Ancestor’s physical body had displayed was clearly that of the Spirit Realm’s Sixth Level, the Divine Intent Pass. It showed no signs of the Guiyuan Pass.

On this point, Chen Li was absolutely certain he had not misjudged.

His thoughts raced. ’Could it be that his old age and declining vitality caused his Realm to fall, while his Primordial Spirit remained unaffected?’

In that fleeting moment of stunned surprise, the blood-red Primordial Spirit moved.

It didn’t attack Chen Li. Instead, it transformed into a streak of bloody light and shot toward a Seven Kills Hall Master who was trying to distance himself from the battlefield in the snow far away.

"Master! No!"

The Hall Master only had time to let out a desperate cry before the blood-red Primordial Spirit plunged directly into his Divine Hall Acupoint.

The next instant.

The Hall Master began to tremble violently. The color drained from his face, his eyes bulged, and his pupils filled with absolute agony and confusion.

In the span of a single breath, the light in his eyes faded completely. His body went limp and fell stiffly into the snow with a THUD, his fate unknown.

And the blood-red Primordial Spirit, like a hungry ghost that had just feasted, stepped out of his Divine Hall Acupoint. Its previously illusory form had become more solid.

Without pausing, it flashed again as a streak of bloody light. This time, its target was another Hall Master who had turned to flee even farther away.

’What is he doing? Devouring a Divine Soul to replenish itself?’

Alarm bells rang in Chen Li’s mind.

’I have to destroy his physical body and cut him off at the root.’

Making a snap decision, he ignored the blood-red Primordial Spirit. With a flicker of movement, he appeared beside the Seven Kills Ancestor’s mangled body, which lay in a pool of blood.

Without hesitation, he brought the Qiankun Ruyi Staff down, its form blurring into a dark, heavy shadow as it smashed downward.

Under the absolute crushing power, the already broken body was completely pulverized into an unrecognizable paste of flesh, devoid of any sign of life.

At almost the same time, a look of horror appeared on the face of the tiger-faced man, who was lying paralyzed in the snow after Chen Li had sealed his acupoints.

"Senior! Stop him! He’s using the Seven Fiends God-Seizing Skill! With every person he devours, his Primordial Spirit recovers a portion of its power. If he consumes enough, he might even return to his peak!"

The tiger-faced man wanted to break free from his sealed acupoints and run, but Chen Li’s Vein-Severing Soul-Breaking Finger seal was too powerful. The Primordial Qi it contained made his own attempts to break it with his Inner Qi feel like an ant trying to shake a tree—utterly futile.

His overwhelming desire to survive trumped everything else. He cared for nothing else and screamed with all his might.

"Traitorous disciple! How dare you ruin my plans!"

The Seven Kills Ancestor, who had just emerged from the second Hall Master’s brow, heard this and let out a shriek of absolute fury.

The streak of bloody light shot off at an even greater speed, pouncing on the last remaining Seven Kills Hall Master, who was desperately trying to flee off the mountain.

Sensing his impending doom, the Hall Master was driven by desperation into a feral rage.

"You old bastard! I’ll take you down with me!"

He roared, no longer running. A bright light shone from between his brows, and a faint, blurry, pale red shadow with only a humanoid outline struggled to emerge.

The phantom conjured an equally illusory spear in its hand. Exuding an air of grim, tragic determination, it took the initiative and stabbed toward the incoming blood-red Primordial Spirit.

"An ant dares to shake the heavens?"

The Seven Kills Ancestor’s Primordial Spirit let out a scornful laugh.

He didn’t even use any technique. The blood-red Primordial Spirit simply reached out, ignoring the stabbing Divine Sense Awareness Spear, and slapped down its palm.

With a soft "POP," like a bursting bubble...

...the Divine Sense Awareness Spear and the phantom behind it shattered and dissolved under the blood-red palm without any suspense.

The blood-red hand closed its five fingers, capturing the ball of Divine Sense. It forcibly compressed it into a dim, soybean-sized point of red light.

Meanwhile, his physical body fell backward, bleeding from all seven orifices.

The Seven Kills Ancestor’s Primordial Spirit didn’t even glance at the body, stuffing the red point of light directly into its spiritual mouth.

The next moment, the bloody light around the Primordial Spirit flared brilliantly, and a ferocious aura several times stronger than before erupted from it.

It slowly turned, its blood-red eyes locking onto Chen Li nearby. The hatred and killing intent in its gaze were so intense they were almost tangible.

"Junior... you forced me to use this skill... to damage my own foundation... Ten thousand deaths would not be enough to atone for your crime!"

The Seven Kills Ancestor’s Primordial Spirit let out a hoarse roar.

As he spoke, the bloody light behind him surged, and three somewhat blurry, red phantoms appeared, constantly twisting and wailing in agony.

These were the residual Divine Soul imprints of the three Hall Masters he had just devoured.
