“Otherwise, your parents and the rest of your family will die at the hands of the assassins I’ve sent to your house.”

His words were filled with confidence. He knew how much Meng Xiaoni valued his family.

As long as their lives were threatened, Meng Xiaoni would surely back down.

However, the reaction he expected never came.

The living room was dimly lit, making it difficult to read Meng Xiaoni’s expression clearly.

Nevertheless, Mo Beichan could sense that something was wrong.

Meng Xiaoni didn’t appear frightened. He wasn’t even nervous.

‘Why isn’t he scared? His family has always been the most important thing to him.’

While Mo Beichan was trying to understand the situation, Meng Xiaoni calmly approached him.

The distance between them gradually shortened. Mo Beichan instinctively raised his hand.

However, before he could do anything, a voice suddenly sounded behind him. “Boss.”

Mo Beichan turned his head. The next second, a powerful blow struck him.

His vision went black, and he collapsed onto the floor without understanding what had happened.

Meng Xiaoni watched him fall. Then he turned toward a dark corner of the room.

Lance slowly emerged from the shadows.

He glanced at the unconscious Mo Beichan before looking at Meng Xiaoni.

“Boss, I won’t be able to help you with the next part. You’ll have to handle it yourself.”

Meng Xiaoni gave a faint nod. “That’s enough.”

In fact, before Ni Mengxue had left Burning Star Base, she had already told his mother about a possible way to break the mysterious contract connecting Meng Xiaoni and Mo Beichan.

It turned out that the contract wasn’t some magical phenomenon.

Instead, it was connected to a device known as a Super Chip.

According to Ni Mengxue, the Super Chip could establish a connection between two people.

Once implanted, it could transfer pain, injuries, and even certain diseases from one person to another.

In other words, someone suffering from a serious illness could use the chip to shift the burden of that illness onto another person, allowing themselves to live a relatively healthy and comfortable life.

However, removing the chip wasn’t simple. Ni Mengxue had explained two important conditions.

First, both connected individuals needed to be within one meter of each other.

Second, both had to be unconscious during the removal procedure.

Meng Xiaoni had also learned that a Super Chip was implanted somewhere inside his own body.

When he questioned Ni Mengxue about how it had gotten there, she firmly insisted that she didn’t know.

However, she had advised him to undergo additional X-ray examinations to locate the device.

At the time, Meng Xiaoni hadn’t fully understood why she was so insistent.

Now, standing beside the unconscious Mo Beichan, he finally had an opportunity to find out.

According to Ni Mengxue, Super Chips were vulnerable to certain types of radiation, particularly X-rays.

Not only that, they could sometimes be detected through MRI scans.

With a few adjustments to the scanning equipment, it was possible to determine whether someone had been implanted with a Super Chip and was being controlled by a so-called system.

Ni Mengxue knew about these devices because of her experiences in her previous life.

Back in the interstellar world, countless criminal organizations had been involved in territorial disputes and violent conflicts.

Among them, one organization known as the Roswell Gang had become particularly infamous.

The gang had developed a special type of Super Chip that allowed one person to control another.

The technology was so dangerous that the interstellar government eventually banned its private use.

However, the decision sparked widespread protests.

Many citizens accused the government of banning the technology simply because it wanted to monopolize its benefits.

And technically, they weren’t entirely wrong.

Ni Mengxue had witnessed how the government secretly used similar devices on prisoners.

Sometimes, it even implanted them into its own employees to monitor their loyalty.

Because of this, Ni Mengxue was familiar with both the capabilities and weaknesses of Super Chips.

The method she had given Meng Xiaoni was relatively straightforward.

Once Lance knocked Meng Xiaoni unconscious, he took out a special surgical knife that Ni Mengxue had provided.

The knife had a narrow, silver blade designed for making precise incisions.

Lance carefully made small cuts at the back of Meng Xiaoni’s neck and Mo Beichan’s neck.

After examining the tissue beneath their skin, he located two tiny metallic chips.

Each chip was barely half the size of a thumbnail, with a smooth black surface and several fine metallic lines running across it.

They were so small that someone unfamiliar with the technology might have mistaken them for ordinary fragments of metal.

Lance carefully extracted both devices.

However, he didn’t immediately administer the healing potions.

Instead, he took out the small blue button Ni Mengxue had prepared.

He placed both chips against its surface and pressed down.

The next second, a faint blue light flashed. Pop!

Both chips exploded into tiny fragments.

At almost the same moment, Mo Beichan, who was lying unconscious on the floor, suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood.

His body trembled violently and his consciousness began to return.

……………

Meanwhile, Su Yao, who was far away from the villa, suddenly received a notification.

[Warning! Health Swap System connection compromised. Critical danger detected.]

Su Yao stared at the message. Her expression immediately turned cold.

She snorted in displeasure.

“He can’t even handle something so simple, yet he still expects me to love him? Why should I care about useless trash like him? He should have died a long time ago.”

Although her words were harsh, she didn’t completely ignore the warning.

After a moment, she contacted several subordinates and ordered them to investigate Mo Beichan’s situation.

She also used her personal network to find out what was happening at his villa.

………………..

Meanwhile, Lance quickly shook Meng Xiaoni’s shoulder. “Boss! Boss, wake up! We need to leave!”

Meng Xiaoni groaned softly.

His consciousness gradually returned, and he instinctively raised a hand toward the incision on the back of his neck.

A sharp pain made him frown. Before he could say anything, Lance brought a healing potion to his lips. “Drink this.”
