After all, growing crops had become extremely difficult since the apocalypse.

Even large bases with experienced farmers or plant-based superhumans often struggled to produce enough food.

Now, Fair Shallow Land had suddenly established an entire agricultural district overnight.

Everyone wanted to see whether this farmland would truly be capable of growing vegetables.

It was an ordinary day for Bo Jun.

Dressed in a fitted black training suit, he was jogging around the residential buildings.

He had developed a habit of running several laps around the base every morning to improve his physical strength.

Among the people in his group, he was the only one whose strength hadn’t improved much.

Because of that, he had been working harder than everyone else.

As he passed one of the buildings, a sharp whistle suddenly reached his ears.

"Wow! Look at that beauty! What a nice figure!"

Bo Jun heard the catcall and snorted. He didn’t even bother turning around.

He was already accustomed to receiving unwanted attention from both men and women.

This time, the voice belonged to a woman.

However, he didn’t take it seriously and continued running.

Who would have thought that during his second lap around the building, someone would suddenly step in front of him?

Bo Jun stopped.

Standing before him was a beautiful woman.

She had long, wavy emerald-colored hair that fell loosely over her shoulders. Her deep green dress had a low neckline and fitted elegantly around her slender waist.

With her delicate features and graceful appearance, she almost resembled an elf who had wandered into the wrong place.

However, Bo Jun wasn’t interested in her beauty.

He had developed a strong aversion toward women because of his past experiences.

He frowned slightly and created distance between them. "Yes? How may I help you?"

The woman examined him with obvious interest. "Become my partner. I’ll treat you well."

Bo Jun didn’t hesitate. "Thank you for the offer, but I’ll have to refuse."

With that, he turned to leave. However, the woman immediately stepped in front of him again.

Her name was Miley. "Do you even know what I can offer you?"

She raised her chin proudly.

"I can give birth to your children. I’ll even let you enjoy yourself for a few days before asking you to start earning money for me."

She smiled confidently. "And I won’t throw tantrums at you. I’m better than ninety-nine percent of the women you’ll find here."

Bo Jun looked at her silently. ’Being better than ninety-nine percent of the women here doesn’t necessarily make you a good person.’

There were plenty of terrible women in the world. Simply being less terrible than them wasn’t something worth boasting about.

He nodded politely and continued walking. Miley’s expression immediately darkened.

She turned toward her husband, Chen Meng, who had been standing nearby.

Her eyes filled with tears, and her face twisted with humiliation.

Chen Meng immediately approached her and gently patted her back. "Don’t worry. I’ll get that man for you."

Miley sniffled and nodded.

Meanwhile, Bo Jun had barely taken a few steps when someone suddenly grabbed him.

Before he could react, Chen Meng shoved him against the building wall.

Bo Jun’s back struck the concrete surface. A sharp pain spread through his shoulders.

Chen Meng was much stronger than him, and the arm pinning him against the wall felt almost impossible to resist.

The man leaned closer and threatened in a deep voice, "If you refuse to sign a partnership contract with my wife, I’ll kill you right here."

Bo Jun snorted; however, his body had already begun trembling.

The pressure against his chest made it difficult to breathe.

He took a deep breath and forced himself to speak. "Then kill me."

His voice was strained, but his determination remained firm. "I would rather die than surrender to a woman like her."

Chen Meng’s hand stiffened, and the pressure around Bo Jun’s neck eased a little.

He had initially assumed Bo Jun was simply playing hard to get.

However, judging from his expression, the young man genuinely had no intention of accepting Miley.

Chen Meng subconsciously turned toward his wife. Miley stomped her foot angrily and glared at him.

Meanwhile, Bo Jun closed his eyes. ’One. Two. Three.’

The next second, his body suddenly disappeared.

Chen Meng’s arm struck the empty wall.

Before either of them could react, Bo Jun had already been teleported to a safer location some distance away.

He stumbled slightly before regaining his balance.

Then he immediately placed his hand over the small locket hanging around his neck.

The pendant was still faintly warm.

"You saved me," he whispered.

He didn’t dare remain there any longer. Without looking back, he hurried toward his apartment.

Once he reached his residence, he rushed inside and shut the door.

He checked the lock three times before finally convincing himself that it was secure.

Only then did he move farther into the apartment.

He opened a cabinet, took out a tablet, and swallowed it.

Afterward, he walked toward the living room and placed a trembling hand against the back of the sofa.

His apartment measured approximately 422 square feet.

Although it wasn’t particularly large, it had enough room for a small living area, a bedroom, and a bathroom.

Under normal circumstances, Bo Jun found the space comfortable.

However, at that moment, even the familiar surroundings couldn’t calm him. His entire body was shaking.

He tried to control his breathing, but the memory of being pinned against the wall kept returning.

Finally, he let out a distressed shout. It took him several minutes to regain some control over himself.

He slowly lowered his head and began murmuring, "She didn’t come close to you."

His fingers tightened around the sofa. "She didn’t touch you."

He repeated those words several times, desperately trying to calm himself.

Meanwhile, Ni Mengxue arrived at the employment board.

The area was packed with newly registered residents.

Many were searching for jobs, while others were simply curious about the opportunities available in Fair Shallow Land.

Ni Mengxue had already decided what to do. She opened the system interface and clicked on the send button.
