Chapter 954: Chapter 338: True Identity Exposed (Comic Adaptation Incoming)

Under the shocked gaze of Li Gaole, Yang Chen started a phone conversation with SKP Group’s president, Wang An Kang.

Through the shares he acquired, as well as those indirectly held by Longlian Supermarket Group, Yang Chen had achieved absolute control over SKP Group. Whether Wang An Kang could continue as chairman was, of course, something Yang Chen could decide with a word.

All the conveniences Yang Chen encountered at SKP today were actually arranged by Wang An Kang.

If Yang Chen had not insisted on keeping things low-key, Wang An Kang would have wanted to personally lead the SKP executives to welcome Yang Chen.

Wang An Kang was making this call now to probe Yang Chen’s considerations regarding the group’s personnel appointments, especially the selection of the chairman.

To be fair, with SKP’s sales able to maintain a steady annual growth rate of 30%, it indicates that Wang An Kang’s personal capability is strong, and SKP can continue developing under his management.

Yang Chen himself certainly won’t personally intervene in SKP’s daily management. It’s better to continue letting Wang An Kang manage.

Therefore, Yang Chen confidently said, "I am very satisfied with your performance over the years and have no plans to replace you for now. Everything at SKP Group remains unchanged, just develop step by step."

Wang An Kang was overjoyed and said, "Thank you, Mr. Yang, for your appreciation. I will certainly work even harder in the future and absolutely will not betray your trust."

Yang Chen: "Did Li Gaole, the procurement manager, procure furs and such? Investigate thoroughly if there’s any problem. If there’s a problem, do what needs to be done. If there’s no problem, he can continue as the procurement manager."

Li Gaole’s nerves immediately tightened, his heartbeat suddenly accelerated, feeling like it was about to jump out of his throat, even his legs were trembling, with his palms and back sweating, which is a typical expression of nervous fear.

Wang An Kang: "Furs? We have indeed procured furs as a year-end reward. Did you hear any news, Mr. Yang? Please speak directly to me. I will certainly handle it impartially."

Yang Chen: "Check if there’s anything shady first. Once you have results, tell me first, don’t make any unilateral decisions."

Wang An Kang: "Understood. I understand. I will immediately order someone to check the accounts and certainly clarify it as soon as possible."

Yang Chen made a sound of acknowledgment and hung up the phone.

Beside him, Li Gaole wanted to step forward and plead with Yang Chen but found he couldn’t move his legs. Then he felt weak in his legs and collapsed to the ground.

Yang Chen laughed, helped him up, patted his shoulder, and said, "Stand up straight! Why so nervous? Did you do something bad?"

Li Gaole: "Mr. Yang, I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were the Yang Chen who acquired the shares of the group. Previously, I was disrespectful in my words, please forgive me. I’m sorry, sorry."

Yang Chen: "It’s okay, I don’t care about these things. As long as you can withstand the group’s investigation on you, you can continue to be the procurement manager. Or, do you have anything you need to confess to me now? I can consider it, as long as you haven’t committed any unforgivable mistakes, I can give you a chance to reform. But if the group finds it, then it’ll be handled as business, and you won’t have any opportunity."

It can be said with great certainty that no procurement staff is truly clean, regardless of the scale, certain benefits are always taken.

This is the reality of human nature; no one can guarantee selecting a procurement manager who doesn’t take a single benefit.

Therefore, Yang Chen’s idea is as long as Li Gaole hasn’t committed major mistakes, he can use this handle to control him, letting him continue as procurement manager is certainly more secure and reliable than finding someone new.

Li Gaole hurriedly explained: "Mr. Yang, please don’t be like this, I’ll confess to you right now. I did receive some gifts from suppliers, but I haven’t done any high-priced procurement actions, absolutely haven’t harmed the company’s interests. I really didn’t know Wang Yuwei is a fake socialite, I indeed bought furs from her several times through her for company annual meetings and festive gifts. But I didn’t receive kickbacks, nor deliberately made high-priced procurements. I compared the prices, and only agreed to get the goods from Wang Yuwei when the prices seemed reasonable. The total fur procurement was about 1.5 million, and that’s over five procurements in three years."

Yang Chen nodded, said: "Anything else?"

Li Gaole: "That’s it! I swear to the heavens there are no other flawed actions. Really, Mr. Yang, you must believe me. If necessary, I’ll liquidate the gifts from suppliers and compensate the company. What do you think?"

Yang Chen: "I have given you the chance, so appreciate it well. If Wang An Kang gathers evidence proving you have more than this behavior, I won’t give you any more opportunities."

Li Gaole: "No problem! I assure Mr. Yang that there are absolutely no other violations. If President Wang finds other evidence, and it’s verified as true, I’m willing to bear all consequences."

Yang Chen nodded, beckoned Li Gaole to come closer, then whispered something in his ear.

Li Gaole nodded and said, "Understood! I’ll surely cooperate well with Mr. Yang."

At this point, in the lobby.

Wang Yuwei and others were getting anxious.

Wang Yuwei: "Why are they taking so long in the restroom? They’re slower than us."

Ruan Wan: "Did they run away?"

Li Yunxi quickly and righteously said, "Absolutely impossible! What kind of person do you think Ah Chen is?"

Wang Yuwei: "Ah Le is with him, Ah Le wouldn’t run away with him. Don’t worry, they will certainly come back."

Just as they were talking, Yang Chen and Li Gaole returned.

The two acted as if nothing had happened.
