Chapter 176: Chapter 176: The Letter of Challenge

She thought "Blank" was someone’s codename, but turns out it was just describing a person’s profile—completely blank.

Why does she feel like she’s crashed into a group of absolute legends?

The rumors online about the Base Organization sound straight out of a sci-fi movie—so many factions tangled together, insanely complicated, loaded with cash... Basically, wherever there’s power, light or dark, you’ll find traces of the Base Organization.

Never expected the crazy stuff on the internet to actually be spot-on for once.

Renee Morgan stared at her account, mood all over the place, seeing the 0 points displayed behind her username.

It was deep into the night, news feed that was buzzing all day finally calming down.

Just as Renee was about to log out, the once-quiet message box suddenly popped up with a notification.

Blank tagged Renee Morgan.

Renee Morgan: "!"

Must have slipped and tapped by accident, right?

The peaceful message box was instantly thrown into chaos by that @ mention.

This was the very first time Blank showed up in the message box.

No one expected their inaugural appearance to go straight for a rookie—who happens to be a superstar everybody knows.

Everyone held their breath, as a second message jumped out.

Blank: [Free for a sniping duel?]

Renee’s brain blanked out for a second; finger already instinctively clicked open the task bar, and opened that already-removed mission file.

This notorious, high-powered terrorism kingpin, after being hunted globally, was dragged back to international prison—by a single person.

Now that same person who caught the terrorist kingpin is challenging her, from across cyberspace...

If she had to sum up her mood in one sentence, it’d be, "People fear fame, pigs fear getting fat"—and she’s the fat pig with the butcher’s knife dangling overhead.

Every guy worldwide obsessed with her sniping skills—this is really not as great as it sounds!

The message box had exploded, everyone rushing to @ Blank.

[When is the duel? Give me an address.]

[Blank is a fan of Renee Morgan?][Renee’s sniping styles are flexible, I’ve studied every single technique, made my own notes too—want to borrow them?]

[I suggest you don’t just spar sniping, might as well try a martial arts duel while you’re at it. Renee’s got real martial arts pedigree, Blank should be interested too?]

[Got some missions lately, can’t make it in person. Why don’t you two do a livestream? Global coverage, the bill’s on me.]

[Nice idea! I’ll start a betting pool, everyone’s welcome to bet on the outcome.]

[I’ll bet a hundred million: Renee martial arts KO Blank.]

[Just some pocket money here—fifty mill on Renee martial arts KO Blank.]

[Wow, you guys really showing Blank zero respect. In that case, I’ll also bet on Renee martial arts KO Blank.]

Renee Morgan became a global sensation with her sniping, collecting endless fanatic shooting fans.

Yet these folks are egging her to spar martial arts with Blank...

Anyone who’s watched the livestream knows: before the Base games, Renee challenged the Base Forest, where she ran into Hugh and Jay Monroe—both with decent Combat Power. When it came down to ’life or death’, Renee surrendered instantly without hesitation.

If she could KO Hugh and Jay Monroe back then, she totally would’ve—no way she’d be running around fetching apples for them.

Blank’s Combat Power is like ten Hughs and Jay Monroes combined.

With such an insane gap, now people want Renee to spar martial arts against Blank? They’re not crazy—they’re just totally double-faced, delighting in someone else’s misery, obviously.

Renee grabbed the Black Stone Plate, crashed it upward, collapsed under her blanket, eyes shut, just went limp.

The next day, Warren had some business and sent the driver and junior assistant to pick up Renee for an audition.

The movie audition is next week, but today Renee’s audition is for the TV giant, Director Lincoln’s series.

When the car pulled up to the TV drama production site, quite a few people had already arrived. Renee’s arrival immediately drew everyone’s attention.

Today, Renee went with a bare face, full sport short sleeve outfit, skin pale, cheeks pink, eyes like peach blossoms—clear and sparkling.

Many on-site recognized her. A few young girls quickly went over and said hi.

Renee Morgan greeted them politely.

Right before the audition started, chaos broke out at the entrance.

Several bodyguard-looking staff escorted a girl into the venue.

The girl was rocking huge sunglasses, a mask, and even in the sweltering summer wore a lavish coat over a green maxi dress, low heels, whole vibe tiny and delicate—super adorable.

The girls behind Renee got a bit excited and exclaimed, "Whoa, that’s Lillian Young! Is she here to audition too?"

They had a feeling this series was guaranteed to be a hit; Lillian Young is a top mainland star, blew up thanks to one xianxia drama, and now anything she acts in flames up. If this TV really invited her, then ratings are basically secured.

"Miss Young is here, right? Please go in, Director Lincoln and the producer are waiting." The production crew hurried over and led them to the main tent.

Lillian Young pulled her coat tighter, quickly glanced around, flashed an awkward smile, and under everyone’s protection, headed into the audition tent.

A lot of people onsite were gossiping about Lillian.

"Lillian’s got insane luck—heard she met her big benefactor before she even graduated college. She gets showered with resources, can’t not get famous."

"Nah, she’s actually got skills too. All the dramas she’s been part of the last few years are huge hits."

"Heh, you newbies haven’t figured out the real trick yet. Her dramas are big mainly because they’re helmed by award-winning crews and star directors—already have breakout potential. The roles she lands are all super likable. How could they not be blockbusters?"

The rest looked unconvinced, half skeptical.

"Sigh, put it this way: look at Renee Morgan—she’s global top tier, literally. Lillian Young’s the domestic hot flower, but her public popularity is only so-so, nothing compared to Renee. So why does she get better treatment from the crew?"

"Well, Lillian’s got more experience in drama acting, and a lot of drama fans..."

They counted up each artist’s advantages—Lillian Young doesn’t have Renee’s traffic, but did several big dramas. Renee’s a newbie, before blowing up on variety shows only did some minor bit parts, never carried a project.

Honestly, with Renee’s traffic, any investor would give her a leading role. But she’s still inexperienced—a rookie. Award-winning crews and star directors will audition someone for their traffic, but they won’t prematurely give the lead to someone with zero acting chops.

If an actor wants fame, works, awards—they depend on gold teams and star directors.

That’s why both Lillian Young and Renee Morgan showed up for auditions today.

But still, why is Lillian getting so much better treatment than Renee?
