Chapter 1723: Chapter 838: Return (2)

What Zhou Yun didn’t expect was for Li ZhenTai to suddenly raise his hand and slap that young man.

And the young man who got slapped bowed his head even lower while bowing.

Zhou Yun felt filled with helplessness and her dislike for Li ZhenTai grew even stronger.

She bid farewell to directors Yu Zhihe and Kim Bingde and left.

She had one last event in Berlin.

The special screening of the movie "Life".

Carlo personally introduced Zhou Yun to everyone.

Besides the jury members from the main competition unit, Song Chi and Ning Yao also attended.

Zhou Yun originally thought it would be a simple screening event, but upon arriving, she found the festival took it very seriously and it was grand, with almost three hundred audience members present.

After the screening of "Life", Carlo invited Zhou Yun to the stage for a brief chat about filming the movie in front of everyone.

Zhou Yun shared some insights about mutual encouragement between her and Wen Bing during the filming, and their passion for creation.

Carlo asked a question: "We often say a creator needs both reason and passion simultaneously, how do you balance these? When acting, if you’re too rational, there’s no emotion; too emotional, and it’s easy to lose control of the rhythm."

Zhou Yun said: "I used to particularly pursue a sense of presence on set, but now I prefer to consider all the details of the performance during preparation, and then during shooting, discard all these details and not insist on every detail being perfect."

"If in the end those prepared things aren’t used, then why prepare beforehand?"

"The preparation phase is about clarifying the character’s direction; you can’t even get the direction wrong." Zhou Yun said, "For instance, why is this character angry, and why can’t she control her anger? Once you figure out this direction accurately, you won’t act incorrectly on set. As for how angry I need to be, whether I portray the character’s anger through shouting or glaring and making faces, I won’t give myself too many limitations; I’ll act based on my state at the time. I especially care about this spontaneous and on-the-spot sense in performance because I don’t yet have the skill to make every designed performance entirely devoid of traces of design."

Carlo: "What you’ve said will definitely be beneficial to many young actors."

"Thank you, thank you Mr. Carlo, thank you all for organizing this special screening event." Zhou Yun said, "’Life’ is the first film where I played a leading role as the female protagonist, which means a lot to me. While watching this movie today, many past scenes surfaced in my mind. Actually, looking at it from today’s perspective, I often find many unsatisfactory parts. It feels like if I were to act now, it would be more mature, but when I think about it, that’s not true at all. It remains there, and I can’t recreate the state captured in ’Life’; for an actor, the state of acting is far more crucial than so-called acting skills."

Carlo applauded.

The audience followed suit and applauded.

Zhou Yun bowed to everyone present.

This marked the end of Zhou Yun’s schedule at the Berlin Film Festival.

Song Chi and Ning Yao had other commitments and remained here.

...

Zhou Yun returned to Australia, to "Killing Song" crew.

Her time at the Berlin Film Festival these past days generated plenty of news.

Although the crew of "Killing Song" didn’t see her on site, they saw her almost daily in the news.

Especially the actors, who almost naturally follow the Berlin Film Festival.

This time Zhou Yun treated as a top-tier celebrity at the Berlin Film Festival.

Every schedule had official coverage, and Carlo accompanied her in three of the events, indicating the level of treatment she received.

Of course, that aside, the key factor was media attention on her.

Anything noteworthy would become news.

Especially the news of her marriage to Song Chi, which shook entertainment news pages across various countries for several days.

Many people are still discussing this matter.

This astonished Mélando.

In fact, in Mélando’s mind, Zhou Yun was just a top-tier actress in China; on a global scale, her popularity wasn’t considered that high. However, somehow, as "Killing Song" transitioned from preparation to filming and into current times, Zhou Yun repeatedly showcased her global fame and how much she was pursued by the media.
