Chapter 1732: Chapter 841: Return to China (Part 2)

On the flight returning home, Zhou Yun put on an eye mask and took a nap.

However, she didn’t sleep well on the plane and woke up shortly after.

Looking over, Zhou Lan was still watching the tablet in her hands, presumably with lots of work-related materials to review.

Zhou Yun took out her e-reader, preparing to read for a while.

Zhou Yun recently got hooked on Ken Flick’s spy novels.

She was deeply engrossed.

Genres like this are naturally captivating stories.

As long as the story isn’t poorly written, the genre itself is inherently enticing.

Zhou Yun kept thinking of "Moon Sinking at Sea," the only espionage drama she had acted in, which now has no news due to Zhi Wei’s drug use, and might not even be aired.

This made Zhou Yun a bit upset.

She and Song Chi performed quite well in the drama—she could feel it while acting, especially during confrontations with Song Chi, both of them put in their utmost effort, making the scenes smooth and exhilarating; this sense of chemistry, Zhou Yun could only truly experience with Song Chi.

The chemistry between her and Song Chi wasn’t a spiritual meeting of minds, but rather mutual trust.

Zhou Yun completely trusted Song Chi to respond effectively no matter how she performed.

This sense of trust between partners was incredibly important.

Because of this, Zhou Yun was eagerly anticipating the drama’s release.

Alas.

Zhou Yun absentmindedly sighed upon thinking about this matter.

Zhou Lan, hearing her sigh, turned to look over.

"What’s with the sudden sigh?" Zhou Lan asked.

Zhou Yun said, "I was thinking of ’Moon Sinking at Sea,’ it’s really a shame if the drama doesn’t get aired."

"Chen Wenjun is trying to work things out, and, with you and Song Chi starring in it, there’s definitely still hope. The officials know the overseas influence you two have, and they’ve been trying to promote Chinese dramas internationally, increasing overseas impact. Since it’s the only drama with both of you starring, they certainly hope it gets aired. I’ve heard some news; it’s likely to be released and won’t be affected by Zhi Wei," Zhou Lan said.

"Really? That’s great!" Zhou Yun said, surprised.

Zhou Lan: "This is also thanks to your performance at this Berlin Film Festival, which showed your overseas influence to the officials. They don’t want this drama to go to waste, as it truly has high quality; that’s what I’ve heard from them."

"What about Zhi Wei then?" Zhou Yun asked.

Zhou Lan said, "No idea, we’re not sure how this will be handled, but they’ll find a way to resolve it, it doesn’t concern us."

Zhou Yun indeed felt happy; if "Moon Sinking at Sea" could be aired, it would definitely be a great thing.

Upon returning to her homeland, stepping onto this familiar soil, Zhou Yun took a deep breath.

She said, "This is the first time I’ve returned from wrapping up a shoot without another drama waiting for me to join."

Zhou Lan said, "Do you want to join a drama? If you do, I’ll arrange it for you immediately."

Zhou Lan was obviously joking.

Zhou Yun glared at her and said, "If you wish for me to drop dead, then do go ahead and arrange it for me."

Zhou Lan laughed out loud.

"Just rest well for a few days. I haven’t scheduled any work for you in the coming week; there will be some events and arrangements after that, like ad shoots for VX, Jinling Jewelry, and Rogel Watch’s new season, two magazine shoots, promotion for ’Chen Yin,’ preparatory meetings for ’Idol Clone,’ ’Under the Grand Dress’ Season 2, ’Child of Prophecy,’ and the Qingmu Award ceremony this year where you’ll attend as a presenter, all these take place in March," Zhou Lan said.

Zhou Yun felt overwhelmed.

"I’m going to faint," she said.

Zhou Lan: "Don’t faint, this is just the temporarily confirmed work. There’s still more in discussion."

"Stop, stop, don’t schedule too aggressively for me. Having this much work in March is enough," Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Lan: "Alright then, I was actually considering getting you onto two more programs, which could help promote ’Chen Yin,’ you know."

Zhou Yun: "...What does Director Kang think?"

"Director Kang of course hopes you’ll help actively with the promotion, but this is up to you; it’s okay if you don’t want to appear on shows. I’m just constantly approached by producers scheduling with me, wanting to invite you onto programs. You haven’t been seen publicly on shows here for a while; the last time was in Lew Yuan’s new program, when you appeared with Song Chi, which generated a lot of discussion, and you’ve never really left the public eye, not in overseas shows either," Zhou Lan said.
