Celestial Dragon Sword Venerable
Chapter 737: The Existence Feared Even by Dao Rhyme Fragments
At this time, Ye Tianling had not been teleported into the Hidden Dragon Demon Cave. Instead, he remained within the Celestial River, which was on the verge of destruction.
A considerable amount of Thunder Origin still remained. After absorbing most of it himself, Ye Tianling sent the rest into the Space-Time Soul-locking Tower for Ye Tianxi, Ye Tianyun, and Liu Xu’Er to use for their cultivation.
They knew what had happened outside.
One could only imagine how moved they were by Ye Tianling’s gift of the Thunder Origin.
This was a resource immeasurably more precious than what was used for Origin Soul Refining, even more valuable than the rewards of Dao Rhyme Fragments and Seed Fragments.
However, they didn’t refuse.
For one, they had seen with their own eyes that Ye Tianling couldn’t absorb any more.
For another, they had been unable to help during Ye Tianling’s earlier, desperate battle, and a powerful sense of guilt had taken root in their hearts.
"Brother."
"Tianling."
"Brother Tianling."
Ye Tianyun, Liu Xu’Er, and Ye Tianxi all called out softly.
Their voices were soft and didn’t overlap, but each was filled with profound emotion.
Ye Tianling nodded and said gently, "Cultivate well. With the Origin of this Celestial Punishment, you will reach the Divine Son and Divine Daughter Level once you step into the Tribulation Realm. I can’t always be there to help you, after all. You must possess a Strong Heart, an Invincible Heart..."
His words were earnest as he encouraged the three of them.
The three of them nodded, their eyes filled with a tenderness so deep it seemed it could well up into a Spiritual Spring.
Ye Tianling took a deep breath. He reflected on the Azure Dragon Fist he had unleashed and felt immensely satisfied.
Now that he possessed an unparalleled Invincible Heart, by channeling that invincible Fist Intent into his Azure Dragon Fist, his Battle Power had increased to a terrifying degree.
Although the current Azure Dragon Fist was still no match for the Reincarnation Life and Death Fist, the gap between them had narrowed considerably.
Meanwhile, the power of the Reincarnation Life and Death Fist was more or less fixed, only scaling with his Realm and overall Battle Power.
The Azure Dragon Fist, however, was just beginning. Its true, unparalleled Battle Power had yet to be fully unleashed.
Taking advantage of the lingering Destruction Law in this space, Ye Tianling attempted to condense his Samadhi Celestial Fire and reforge the Xuanyuan Celestial Evil Sword and the Mirror Flower Water Moon Battle Armor.
The refining process went even more smoothly than he had imagined. After all, he was already in perfect harmony with both supreme treasures, his body and mind united as one, and his Soul had reached the state of Perfection.
Refining them with his heaven-defying Samadhi Celestial Fire—and absorbing the surrounding Destruction Law and a portion of the Celestial Punishment’s Origin Power in the process—yielded excellent results.
Soon enough, all the damage sustained by the Xuanyuan Celestial Evil Sword and the Mirror Flower Water Moon Battle Armor was completely repaired.
Only then did Ye Tianling take out the Baiyu Demon God Radiant Bow.
The Baiyu Demon God Radiant Bow quietly absorbed the strange and wondrous Power of Laws from the surrounding space. Within it, a wisp of the Power of Demon God actually began to recover, albeit with incredible slowness.
Even though the process was exceedingly slow, Ye Tianling was more than satisfied just to see it recovering at all.
After putting away the Baiyu Demon God Radiant Bow, Ye Tianling once again practiced all the Cultivation Techniques in his arsenal.
This time, if he hadn’t cultivated such a wide array of Heaven-defying Techniques, he would not have been able to withstand the tribulation, even with the Power of Demon God from the Baiyu Demon God Radiant Bow. He would have failed his Tribulation and been forced to hide away in the Space-Time Soul-locking Tower just to survive.
Ye Tianling spent nearly half an hour cultivating. He finally finished just as the void of the Celestial River was on the verge of collapse.
He was still at the Third Level of comprehension within the Celestial Dao Rule Domain and had not been able to advance any further in that regard.
However, his understanding of his various Cultivation Techniques had indeed deepened.
His mastery over his various Cultivation Techniques—their application, synergy, and fusion with one another—had also reached an entirely new level.
His Battle Power was now countless times greater than it had been during the Sword Tribulation First Refining, and his overall improvement was readily apparent.
Furthermore, his Crystal Skeleton made it so Ye Tianling could enter a frenzied state of battle at any moment, as if he could shatter the very vacuum and break through the void’s barrier with a single punch.
The Celestial River shattered, and the aura of the Hell Celestial Tribulation vanished completely.
Ye Tianling descended, landing on the ruined altar, his heart filled with a mix of emotions.
Next, Ye Tianling focused on his own cultivation, which was at the Late Stage of Sword Tribulation Second Refining. He attempted to absorb Dao Rhyme Fragments to advance further and elevate his Realm to the Great Perfection Realm.
But it was then that Ye Tianling discovered he was somehow completely unable to absorb any more Dao Rhyme Fragments!
It was as if his body had reached its saturation point for absorbing Dao Rhyme Fragments!
’What the hell... What’s going on? I only advanced a single Realm, and now I can’t improve any further? Isn’t the fucking Celestial Dao targeting me?’
Ye Tianling grew frustrated.
At that moment, the Little Dragon Girl’s voice rang out directly in his mind. "Tianling, you absorbed 100,000 Dao Rhyme Fragments all at once, reaching the absolute limit of what can be absorbed. And you did it all in one go. That’s why you can’t absorb any more."
Ye Tianling was left dumbfounded.
Although his understanding of Dao Rhyme Fragments was limited, he knew there were specific rules to absorbing them.
The saying "The first charge is full of vigor, the second wanes, and the third is depleted" applied here. It meant that one could absorb Dao Rhyme Fragments three times. The first time yielded the best results, the second time’s effects were diminished, and the third time’s were even weaker. However, all three of these absorptions could trigger a Realm transformation of the Great Perfection Level.
’But when it comes to me, how can I only absorb them once?’
’Could it be that I absorbed too much at once and broke some kind of taboo? Did I incur the jealousy of the heavens?’
As Ye Tianling was mulling this over, the Mechanical Heart continued to send its message. "Tianling, a normal Cultivator absorbs fewer than 50,000 Dao Rhyme Fragments total. It’s usually between 10,000 and 15,000 per attempt, for a total of three attempts that don’t exceed 50,000. And you? You absorbed 100,000 in one go... Dao Rhyme Fragments are Spiritual; from now on, you can forget about ever absorbing them again.
They’re afraid of you."
The Little Dragon Girl’s telepathic message left Ye Tianling dumbfounded.
’My savage method of absorption actually scared the Dao Rhyme Fragments away?’
Ye Tianling felt like he could vomit blood from sheer frustration.
’Is that even possible?’
If the Little Dragon Girl weren’t the super-intelligence of the Mechanical Heart, and if her calculations weren’t always flawless, Ye Tianling would have suspected she was pulling his leg.
"Then, can other people still absorb them after their three times?"
Ye Tianling asked, full of doubt.
"They can continue to absorb them. Their Realms can still undergo about six more transformations, but they can no longer make progress at the Great Perfection level. However, there are no limits on absorbing them to restore energy, increase Battle Power, or accumulate Origin."
The Little Dragon Girl replied.
Upon hearing this, Ye Tianling nearly coughed up a mouthful of blood. He was utterly speechless.
’To absorb them so savagely that I scared away their spiritual essence...’
’This...’
This was enough to make Ye Tianling want to cry, but no tears would come.
