Chapter 334: You’re Seriously Ill
Chapter 334: Chapter 334: You’re Seriously Ill
The private wing of the Children’s Hospital was one of the best medical facilities in Shangdu, and even in all of Da Xia.
And the fees for this private wing were simply outrageous.
Qin Tianxuan used his connection with Lingsu to get an appointment, but before he could even walk in, he was told to pay a 1,000,000 deposit!
"Our private medical wing doesn’t accept insurance. All our medications are imported, and we don’t want any situations where people run up a bill and can’t pay!"
The staff member’s attitude was atrocious. "Some people have gotten crafty these days. They rent a luxury car to pretend they’re rich, get admitted, and then refuse to leave! Hmph. Pay up!"
Song Mingzhu was furious. "I thought the best hospital in Shangdu would have some medical ethics! Isn’t saving lives the most important thing?"
Qin Tianxuan pulled her back. "Pay them. We don’t have time to waste on their nonsense."
Song Mingzhu had lived through many hard years, which was why she was so indignant about the money. Realizing her priorities, she knew Brother Qin was right. The child was more important.
She paid immediately.
The hospital staffer sneered. "Medical ethics? Saving lives? Then how are we supposed to generate revenue? This private wing cost hundreds of millions to build, and the Vice Governor himself is a shareholder. We have all these people on our payroll. If we don’t make money, are we supposed to live on air?"
In the private wing, the nurses were on par with flight attendants.
Every one of them was exceptionally beautiful.
The doctors, meanwhile, seemed to have all the time in the world, sitting in their offices drinking tea and playing on their phones.
The ward had only ten private rooms.
"There’s only one room left, on the fourth floor. It’s got a great view and a nice environment, plus 24-hour professional care. However, you’ll have to pay another 1,000,000. It’s a precaution in case your expenses get too high."
Song Mingzhu was frantic. ’What kind of private hospital is this? They’re running it like a business, trying to upsell us on a room already.’
With no other choice, she paid again.
Just as they were finally issued a medical record card, before they could even head to the room, Song Wenbin appeared.
Of all the Song Family’s adopted sons, Song Wenbin was the most detestable.
The moment Song Mingzhu saw him, she tried to keep her distance.
Song Wenbin was flanked by hospital leadership, most notably Dean He, the man in charge of the entire private wing.
"Oh, President Song, thank you so much for your eighty-million-yuan donation to our hospital! Everyone here in the private wing is overcome with gratitude," Dean He gushed, visibly thrilled.
Song Wenbin waved his hand smugly. "The Song Family can certainly afford a paltry sum like that. Old He, what’s the name of the child that was just admitted over there?"
"Oh? Someone, check on that right away!"
"The child has leukemia. Registered name is Sisi, mother is Song Mingzhu..."
Song Wenbin scoffed. "Listen up, all of you. Song Mingzhu used to be my adoptive father’s foster daughter. The kid’s in a pitiful state, and my adoptive father wants to see her. So, later, no matter what happens, you act like you didn’t see a thing. Understand?"
Everyone understood.
’Adoptive father wants to see the child’? This was a kidnapping, plain and simple!
But in any case, Song Hongjun was, nominally, Sisi’s maternal grandfather. The situation was complicated.
"Rest assured, President Song. I’ll have all security guards removed from the vicinity of Room 10. The area will be perfectly quiet. You can do as you please," Dean He said, audacious enough to thump his chest in guarantee.
Song Wenbin was very pleased. With a knowing look, the four Song Family thugs behind him silently readied themselves to seize their target.
Hands in his pockets, Song Wenbin strolled into Room 10 ahead of them, jumped onto the hospital bed without even taking off his shoes, and laid down with a leisurely air.
This was the fourth floor, and the environment was indeed excellent. The garden behind the hospital was visible from the balcony.
When Song Mingzhu entered carrying her child, with Qin Tianxuan behind her holding a suitcase of clothes, they immediately saw Song Wenbin lying on the bed, whistling.
The color drained from her face. "You... What are you doing here?"
Song Wenbin grinned. "Sister Mingzhu, what a silly question. I’m sick, so of course I have to be hospitalized."
’But this is a children’s hospital!’
Song Mingzhu knew he was here to cause trouble, but she never imagined he could be this shameless.
Song Wenbin kept whistling as his four thugs filed silently into the room. Out in the hallway stood Dean He and the others.
"Song Mingzhu, I have four of my men in here, and Dean He himself personally escorted me in. Get it? As of now, I control this hospital room. You’d be wise to cooperate! My adoptive father wants to see the child!"
Song Mingzhu’s vision went dark. ’So, there’s no escaping the wretched Song Family after all?’
Song Wenbin shot a sidelong glance. "And who’s this with you? Just standing there like a complete idiot."
Qin Tianxuan took a step forward. "I was at Song Hongjun’s birthday banquet. You should know me. I gave the Song Family ten days..."
Song Wenbin scoffed. "I was out on business that day. Came back and heard some bogeyman had shown up. Fuck! Those idiots in the family are so damn useless. You? You think you’re worthy of being called a bogeyman?"
He sprang up from the bed, pointing his finger arrogantly. "Come on, then! Let’s see what kind of bogeyman you really are!"
Qin Tianxuan had Song Mingzhu place Sisi on the sofa, then turned to face Song Wenbin.
His eyes were dark. "You really are sick. And it’s not a minor case."
Song Wenbin threw his head back and roared with laughter, his finger trembling.
Then, with a SNAP, his finger broke on the spot!
Qin Tianxuan’s hand moved like lightning. SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!
All five of his fingers were broken!
Song Wenbin let out an inhuman shriek before his vision went black from a solid punch to the face.
Qin Tianxuan grabbed him by the hair and—BAM!—smashed his head against the iron bed rail. Then he forced his face up and landed another punch.
After that punch, Song Wenbin didn’t have a single tooth left in his mouth.
His screams had turned into whimpering pleas for mercy, but they were cut short by another series of crisp snaps. SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! The five fingers of his right hand were broken just the same.
Finally, Qin Tianxuan sent the bastard flying out of the room with a swift kick. He then ripped off the soiled bedsheet and deftly replaced it with a fresh one.
Only then did he dust off his hands and turn to the four Song Family thugs. "Do you want me to break your arms or your legs?"
The four thugs shrieked and turned to flee.
BAM!
BAM!
BAM!
Three consecutive loud thuds rang out. Despite their head start, Qin Tianxuan was faster. He grabbed the last man and, like skewering fruit on a stick, slammed the four thugs’ heads together in succession.
It was done cleanly, with seemingly little effort.
The four men collapsed in a heap in the hallway, scrambling and crawling over each other.
Qin Tianxuan gestured to Song Mingzhu. "Look after Sisi. I’m going to go sort this out."
He gently closed the door behind him.
Inside and outside the room were two different worlds.
Screams echoed ceaselessly through the hallway, where Song Wenbin was already convulsing on the floor.
Dean He and the others were dumbfounded, still unable to process what had just happened.
Qin Tianxuan walked straight up to Dean He and began wiping his hands on the dean’s white lab coat. "You. You’re going to explain this to me. Now."
