Chapter 336: Chapter 336: What is a Socialite?

The Night Emperor’s Guard stepped forward with a sinister grin, grabbed the moronic dean, and threw open the window.

The fourth floor wasn’t that high, but it was certainly high enough to kill a worthless moron like him.

Dean He was scared out of his wits. "Ah..."

He fainted on the spot, wetting his pants in the process.

The Personal Guard let go in disgust, dropping him to the floor with a THUD.

"Sir? What should I do? Still throw him?" the Personal Guard asked, speechless.

Just then, Qin Tianxuan received a message from Lingsu. He waved his hand dismissively. "Throw him!"

’This cowardly Dean He doesn’t even realize there’s a balcony right below.’

’What a disgrace.’

With a THUD, Dean He fell from the fourth-floor hallway window onto the third-floor balcony. He wasn’t seriously injured, but he was scared witless. He scrambled to his feet, let out a sudden scream, and dove under a bed in one of the third-floor patient rooms.

An unsuspecting nurse came over, but no matter how much she called to him, he refused to come out.

...

The area was quickly cleaned up, and quiet returned to the fourth-floor ward.

Meanwhile, Lingsu was reporting to Qin Tianxuan about the Little Divine Doctor, Gu Qingzhi.

"Qingzhi will be in Shangdu soon. She’s already preparing the treatment for Sisi. She specifically asked me to tell you not to worry—she is confident she can cure her!"

Qin Tianxuan felt a bit more at ease. "Good! Then I’ll go see that friend of yours first—the chief physician here, right?"

"He’s not really a friend, actually. I knew him before I joined the Battle Department. He’s more like my old neighbor’s older brother. His name is Jiang Siyuan. Sir, now that Qingzhi is confident, I think we should just wait for her."

Just as she said that, a doctor from the hospital’s own treatment department appeared at the far end of the hallway.

His hair was neatly slicked back, and he wore gold-rimmed glasses, looking incredibly arrogant.

He walked straight over. "The patient named Sisi, is she here?"

The door to the room opened, and Song Mingzhu rushed out to greet him. "Yes, this is the place! It really is you, Director Jiang!"

This Jiang Siyuan was extremely famous in Shangdu. He had even been the vice president of Jinling Shenghua Hospital.

The only thing was, he was rumored to have a bad temper and be rather arrogant.

Song Mingzhu bowed humbly. For her child’s sake, she couldn’t afford to care about anything else.

Jiang Siyuan waved his hand impatiently. "Her medical records, give them to me. Where was she treated before?"

"At the city’s Celestial Crane Hospital," Song Mingzhu replied, quickly handing over the medical records.

Celestial Crane?

’A patient from that dump?’

A disdainful smirk touched Jiang Siyuan’s lips. "If you have money, why didn’t you come earlier? Celestial Crane is cheap, sure, but they can’t cure a thing!"

Song Mingzhu lowered her head, silent.

Jiang Siyuan took out his phone and glanced at the message from Lingsu.

’A patient recommended by the leader of the Celestial Medicine Hall... I thought she’d be rich or powerful, not this pathetic mess.’

He turned his head to look at Qin Tianxuan. "What’s your relationship with Lingsu?"

His tone was aggressive.

Qin Tianxuan frowned. "We’re comrades-in-arms!"

Jiang Siyuan scoffed. He sized up Qin Tianxuan for a moment, figuring he was just some nobody. If it weren’t for wanting to win Lingsu’s favor, he would never have wasted his time on this.

"Alright, take the child to my office. Go through that corridor and take the stairs to the twelfth floor. The elevators are too slow right now, so just climb. And remember, hurry up!"

Jiang Siyuan said impatiently, glancing at his watch. "I have to take Lingsu out for a meal later. If I miss that, you can try to find me again next week!"

And with that, he left.

He went through the corridor and took a private elevator, not once sparing a single glance for Sisi.

Qin Tianxuan was silent for a moment. "Mingzhu, what do you think? Should we go or not? I have a true Divine Doctor on the way."

Song Mingzhu looked up. "I’ll do whatever you say, Big Brother!"

Qin Tianxuan looked at Sisi lying pitifully in the hospital bed, and his heart softened. "Forget it. Even if it means swallowing this humiliation, for Sisi’s sake, I’ll endure it!"

He lifted Sisi onto his back. Song Mingzhu followed closely behind, clutching his sleeve. "Big Brother, I’m sorry you have to endure this. That Doctor Jiang is truly infuriating."

And so, they climbed the stairs all the way to the twelfth floor.

Jiang Siyuan’s consultation office was far more spacious than any other doctor’s. He was currently surrounded by a group of interns, smugly sipping tea and bragging about his time at Jinling Shenghua Hospital.

Lingsu had been the one to recommend him for the position at Shenghua Hospital.

It was essentially just a way to pad his resume. Jiang Siyuan stayed for only a few days before resigning and returning to Shangdu, where he instantly became one of the city’s most famous doctors.

After that experience, he was filled with an intense desire for Lingsu!

’To have that woman, it would be worth it, even if I had to be her slave.’

’It would be like becoming the husband of the leader of the Celestial Medicine Hall!’

Qin Tianxuan stood at the doorway with the child on his back. Before he could say a word, Jiang Siyuan’s phone rang. It was Lingsu.

Overjoyed, he waved his hand, dismissing everyone from the room.

Then he slammed the door shut with a BANG.

It nearly slammed into Qin Tianxuan’s face.

Inside, Jiang Siyuan’s voice became gentle as he spoke with Lingsu. He couldn’t help but ask, "Who is that person you recommended? The man, I mean."

Lingsu’s voice was urgent. "You need to do your absolute best. You must take this seriously. He is extremely important to me!"

Because of confidentiality protocols, Lingsu couldn’t reveal Qin Tianxuan’s identity.

But when Jiang Siyuan heard this, his expression soured. "What? You care this much about some lowly soldier from the Battle Department?"

"Jiang Siyuan, watch your tone. I’m on my way to the airport to pick someone up. If you’re not capable of handling this, just say it!"

Lingsu hung up on him.

Jiang Siyuan gripped his phone, gritting his teeth so hard they could have shattered.

Just then, Qin Tianxuan pushed the door open. "Director Jiang, are you going to treat this child or not?"

Jiang Siyuan spun around and glared at him. "You, get in here. Leave the child outside. I’m only going to ask you this once: what exactly is your relationship with Lingsu?"

"We’re comrades-in-arms!" Qin Tianxuan stated bluntly. "Any ideas you have about Lingsu are pure delusion! You’re not worthy of her!"

Jiang Siyuan flew into a rage. He snatched Sisi’s medical records and threw them straight into the trash.

"You dare to act tough with me? Then forget about this child staying in the hospital! Treatment? What’s there to treat? It’s a lost cause! Go home and prepare for her funeral. Give her some good food, buy her whatever toys she wants. She’s incurable anyway."

Outside, Song Mingzhu’s vision went dark, and she nearly fainted.

Sisi bit her lip so hard it started to bleed.

She was young, but she understood exactly what his words meant.

The look in Qin Tianxuan’s eyes changed completely.

’I can’t believe he’s such a bastard. A doctor saying things like that?’

Jiang Siyuan was still ranting. "Plenty of people die from this illness. I’ve seen it countless times, so what’s the big deal? Heh. I do have a few methods I could try, but I don’t like your attitude!"

He leaned back and pointed to himself. "You want to know what it means to be Shangdu’s elite? A famous doctor in Da Xia? That’s me! I’ll warn you one last time: stay away from Lingsu. Believe it or not, I can make one phone call and end your career in the Battle Department."

Qin Tianxuan had lost all his patience. He strode forward.

Jiang Siyuan laughed. "Finally realized your mistake? Then kneel right here, give yourself ten hard slaps across the face, and offer a proper apology. Maybe then I’ll agree to keep the child and take a look at her!"

SLAP!

A slap that echoed throughout the room landed squarely on Jiang Siyuan’s face, hitting him so hard his front teeth went flying.
