Chapter 895: Chapter 893: Jia Xiu’s Revival

Xu Yang and his senior brother exchanged a glance. Only now did the two truly realize where the title "Poison Fiend" came from. This place alone was evidence enough. It was easy to imagine just how terrifying Jia Xiu’s methods must have been when he was alive, enough to strike terror into the hearts of all who heard his name.

"Junior Brother, can you handle this?" Luo Yao asked, his expression grave with his wealth of experience. "I’m afraid these Black Lizard Poison Beasts might have a leader."

"It’s not a big problem," Xu Yang said.

As soon as his voice fell, the Black Lizard Poison Beasts leaped up one after another. Bounding over the pool, they opened their mouths and spat out a dense barrage of black, venomous arrows. In an instant, the entire cave was completely flooded by the airtight volley of poison arrows. The lumps on the backs of these poison beasts trembled violently, their skin faintly radiating a multicolored glow. The Five-Colored Lizard Insects inside seemed ready to break out of their shells.

Xu Yang’s expression remained unchanged. With a single thought, his Primordial Spirit erupted.

"Lock!"

BOOM!

All the venomous arrows and Black Lizard Poison Beasts froze in midair, unable to move a single inch. This scene completely stunned Luo Yao. Then, he watched as Xu Yang drew his Daluo Saber, slashing open the Black Lizard Poison Beasts’ skin one strike at a time to collect all their blood and venom into a treasure vase. Just watching this sent a chill down Luo Yao’s spine.

Finally, Xu Yang carefully picked open a lump. Immediately, a ball of pitch-black liquid flowed out, revealing three small insects. They were multicolored, alluring, and bizarre—the Five-Colored Lizard Insects. They lived as parasites on the Black Lizard Poison Beasts but did not harm their hosts’ lives. Two lives sharing one body. The threat of these things was even greater than the Black Lizard Poison Beasts themselves. They were all excellent treasures.

Eventually, Xu Yang found that he did not have enough treasure vases on him. Left with no other choice, he could only use the Celestial Refining Divine Tripod to store and suppress them in the Little Immortal Realm.

A moment later, the cave was thoroughly cleared out.

Luo Yao finally breathed a sigh of relief and gave Xu Yang a thumbs-up. "You’re amazing, Junior Brother."

Xu Yang grinned and began collecting the Thousand Poison Holy Water from the pool. He wondered, "It’s poisonous to the extreme, yet it’s called holy water?"

Just as the pool was nearly drained dry, a rustling commotion echoed from within, rapidly growing louder. Xu Yang and Luo Yao looked up simultaneously.

SWISH SWISH SWISH!!

SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH!!

First, a massive swarm of dark shadows dashed out, immediately followed by a large, multicolored spiritual light that illuminated the surroundings.

Black Lizard Poison Beasts.

Five-Colored Lizard Insects.

There were over fifty of the former. The leading beast was the most massive, comparable to three to five of the smaller ones combined, and it exuded a shocking aura of the Late Stage of Golden Immortal. The latter were densely packed; a single glance revealed at least several hundred of them.

"Good heavens," Luo Yao muttered, his face turning pale. He instinctively retreated again and again, all of his initial excitement completely vanishing. "Even a squad of Late Stage of Golden Immortals would probably be completely wiped out if they came here."

Xu Yang’s eyes turned cold as he darted forward like a bolt of lightning.

HISS HISS HISS!!

The leading Poison Beast King opened its gaping, bloody maw and spat out a waterfall-like cluster of venom. Charging forward like a small mountain, it slammed over ruthlessly.

SWISH SWISH SWISH!!

The dazzling light of the Daluo Saber blossomed, dancing across the air as it transformed into a biting storm that engulfed all the Black Lizard Poison Beasts and Five-Colored Lizard Insects in one fell swoop.

BOOM!

A large number of insects and beasts shrieked miserably as they plummeted, covered in wounds. The weaker ones were even torn to pieces. The Black Lizard Poison Beast King screamed and retreated.

Xu Yang closed in with a single step. His saber strike whipped up a ferocious tiger aura, accompanied by a deafening roar. The terrifying, murderous might froze the Poison Beast King on the spot.

BANG!

The saber struck true. The Poison Beast King’s body instantly split open, and it breathed its last.

"A Late Stage of Golden Immortal, instantly killed in one strike."

GULP!

Luo Yao swallowed hard. He knew his youngest junior brother was incredibly strong, ranked in the top ten of the Dragon and Tiger List, but he never expected him to be this ridiculously powerful. This level of strength was probably comparable to the top three on the Dragon and Tiger List. Back at the Black Fire Immortal Mountain, this was the level of Peak Masters and Elders. However, he was still unaware of everything that had recently transpired in Hongtian Prefecture.

After killing the Poison Beast King, Xu Yang swept his saber horizontally. Sheets of saber light converged and blended around him, transforming into an airtight net of blades in the blink of an eye. The net swept up all the Five-Colored Lizard Insects, swiftly shrinking and closing in on them. Finally, Xu Yang tossed the saber net directly into the Celestial Refining Divine Tripod.

With the cleanup complete, Xu Yang impatiently headed straight into the deepest part of the cave. Along the way, he encountered astonishing poisonous herbs and trees, naturally not sparing a single one.

When they reached the very end, however, the surroundings became completely bare, so barren that not even a single poisonous weed grew there. There was only a pool, slightly smaller than the one before. Inside the pool lay a single layer of multicolored venom.

Resting within the venom was a seemingly perfectly intact corpse. It bore the appearance of an old man, its face as pale as paper and entirely devoid of life.

"Ten Thousand Poison Holy Water!" Luo Yao cried out, swallowing hard.

The Ten Thousand Poison Holy Water was recorded in the Scripture of Ten Thousand Poisons as the most terrifying poisonous water. It was formed by the accumulation of ten thousand poisons. A single drop was enough to cause the collapse of most Late Stage of Golden Immortals. Even if they survived, it would leave behind irreversible aftereffects. Even peak third-tier treasures would be corroded by it.

Xu Yang, however, focused his attention on the corpse.

"Could this be the Poison Fiend, Jia Xiu?" he wondered.

He couldn’t help but raise his vigilance to the absolute maximum. Before his death, Jia Xiu was a Late Stage of Golden Immortal with a body of ten thousand poisons, making him unimaginably terrifying. Even in death, there was a high probability that a vicious figure like him would leave behind terrifying, indelible traps for latecomers. If Xu Yang fell victim to them, he would suffer quite a bit, even with his Flawless Pure Body.

"There’s only a single corpse and roughly a few hundred drops of Ten Thousand Poison Holy Water. Setting aside the Holy Water, the toxicity contained within Jia Xiu’s corpse alone is probably comparable in value to all the poisonous substances in this place combined," Luo Yao murmured as he stepped forward. If this corpse were tossed outside, within three years, a radius of a thousand miles would likely turn into a terrifying, barren, poisonous wasteland.

"Be careful," Luo Yao quietly reminded him. After saying that, he immediately retreated to the edge of the cavern. He knew his strength was too weak; if an accident occurred while he stayed close, he would only be a burden.

Xu Yang took a deep breath, firmly gripped the Daluo Saber, and slowly walked to the edge of the pool. Staring intently at Jia Xiu’s corpse, he spread out his perception and silently sensed his surroundings.

There was nothing unusual.

He wondered, "Did he not leave behind any traps?"

Hmph!

Absolutely impossible!

Xu Yang understood human nature too well. Since he couldn’t sense anything, the trap was likely on the corpse itself.

Xu Yang’s gaze hardened, and he suddenly raised his saber. The blade surged with power as Heaven-Locking Divine Chains materialized, tangling around the Daluo Saber, fully primed and ready to strike.

At a precise moment, Xu Yang viciously slashed down at Jia Xiu’s corpse.

Just then.

SWISH!

Jia Xiu’s body trembled, and he opened his eyes. They were a mass of chaos, yet like a meteor tearing through that chaos, they suddenly reflected a chilling, bizarre, and multicolored light.

"HEH HEH HEH~~ Someone has finally arrived."

Jia Xiu’s lips did not move, yet a hoarse, ancient voice echoed out. It was exceptionally eerie and piercing, causing Luo Yao to shiver. "He’s alive? You’ve got to be kidding me."

Jia Xiu had resurrected.

Xu Yang’s saber strike froze mid-swing, the blade’s edge reflecting perfectly in Jia Xiu’s eyes. Yet, there was not a ripple of emotion in Xu Yang’s gaze.

He thought, "No, he’s not alive. He still lacks any signs of vitality. Playing tricks!"

Xu Yang’s eyes turned icy, and the paused saber light abruptly came crashing down.

BANG!

Drops of Ten Thousand Poison Holy Water splashed upward. Jia Xiu’s body shuddered as his forehead was cleaved open by the blade. Multicolored, dark-red blood flowed out and dripped onto the cave floor, instantly emitting a loud SIZZLE as a large crater was corroded into the ground.

Jia Xiu’s split forehead looked bizarre and horrifying.

"Good saber."

After a brief silence of merely two breaths, an astonished exclamation of praise rang out once more.

Even Xu Yang couldn’t help but shiver.
