Chapter 2677 - 2695: I Have No Objection

He just parked the car and was getting out.

His gaze naturally fell towards Jane Sampson’s direction, seeing her standing in front of the window, he smiled at her.

Jane excitedly stood there waving at him, then ran to the doorway to wait for him. James Black was changing shoes at the doorway, and Jane smilingly stood to the side watching him, "Why did you suddenly come back?"

James paused his shoe-changing action there and looked up at Jane.

In his mind, he recalled Peter Gingery’s teasing words when he returned.

A day apart feels like three autumns.

Day and night thinking of you.

Hadn’t seen his wife for a day, missed her dearly.

James reached out to rub Jane’s head, then finally changed into slippers and walked in, naturally holding Jane’s waist as they entered the door.

"Why did you suddenly come back?" Jane asked again, muttering softly, "I was waiting for you to call me, thought you wouldn’t call tonight, didn’t expect you to drive back, you don’t need to go to base tomorrow morning? Having a meeting in the city district?"

"Not that many meetings to attend, just came back to check on you." James’s palm touched Jane’s belly, asking a pretty silly question, "Was the child good today?"

Brooke Black at the doorway just burst out laughing.

"Your child doesn’t have the ability to bother your wife yet." Brooke teased, "Indeed, only after getting married do you understand the desire to return home, really didn’t expect there’d be this day, James, specially rushing back from the base just to see his wife."

James knew he’d surely be ridiculed for rushing back like this, something expected, so facing Brooke’s teasing, his expression didn’t change.

Turned around and asked Jane, "And were you good?"

"Rest assured, your wife’s very well-behaved, eating well, resting well." Brooke responded on behalf of Jane, then shivered coming in from outside, "This time of year, the evening is still quite cold."

"Auntie, you don’t even think to wear a coat to the courtyard." Jane reproached, "Be careful not to catch a chill."

Brooke waved her hand then went straight upstairs to find Old Master Black.

Jane followed James back to the bedroom, with James back her mood greatly improved.

But thinking that James would leave early in the morning for the base, she felt a twinge of heartache.

"We can make video calls, you specially rushed back, and have to rush back again early tomorrow, it’s too exhausting, weren’t you supposed to come back over the weekend?" Jane started to complain to James.

"I came back, and you’re not happy?" James asked in return.

Jane giggled, couldn’t hide the joy on her face.

She was truly very happy.

Just heartaching over James’s tiring back and forth.

"Were you particularly, particularly missing me today? Missing me so much that you felt if you didn’t come to see me, maybe tomorrow you’d be unable to think about tea or meals, even unable to sleep?" Jane leaned towards James, her little face filled with pride, "I truly am a charmer."

James raised an eyebrow, lowered his head and pecked her on the lips.

"Yes." James didn’t refute, seeing her proud expression, he didn’t deliberately tease her.

"By the way, I’ve got something to tell you." Jane pulled James to sit on the edge of the bed, then said, "Sister Grace came today, she saw the two children Rachel Miller adopted at the orphanage, and she said she wants to adopt those two children."

After saying this, Jane observed James’s expression, "I didn’t immediately agree with Sister Grace, just wanted to ask your opinion."
