"Hmm, the baby doesn’t make sense." James Black nodded in agreement, "Once the baby is born, we’ll teach him properly. For now, let’s get up and wash. Since we’re awake, let’s go downstairs to eat breakfast."

Jane Sampson nodded and followed James Black.

While brushing her teeth, she stood next to James Black, looking at him shaving in the mirror. Jane Sampson curiously muttered, "Women’s hair doesn’t grow as fast as you men’s beards."

James Black glanced at Jane Sampson in the mirror but didn’t say a word. After finishing shaving and washing his face, he rubbed his chin against Jane Sampson’s face.

Listening to Jane Sampson’s exclamations, James Black smiled and finally stopped this somewhat childish act.

"Check if it’s clean-shaven." James Black held Jane Sampson’s small hand and touched his chin.

"It’s clean! It’s clean!" Jane Sampson retracted her hand as if shocked by electricity and hid it behind her back, "You’re done, go out. I still need to put on face cream!"

"No rush, I’ll wait for you." James Black leaned against the washbasin, watching Jane Sampson with white emulsion on her face, even leaned in to sniff it, then touched his chin, realizing he indeed got some on his face from playing with her earlier.

James Black didn’t mind, rubbed it in, spreading the emulsion around.

Jane Sampson’s morning skincare routine was extensive, but James Black didn’t mind the bother, just watched and waited for her next step.

After becoming pregnant, Jane Sampson changed her entire skincare line. Seeing all these new products, James Black would pick them up to study or sniff them after Jane used them.

Probably because they’re pregnancy-specific, most had only a faint fragrance or none at all.

After becoming pregnant, Jane Sampson almost packed away all her perfumes as well. The lipstick she used now was specially made edible-grade for pregnant women, found by her auntie.

Overall, though she’s pregnant, Jane Sampson’s beauty and maintenance haven’t been affected.

Ever since her pregnancy, maybe due to eating nutritional products daily and absorbing them well, Jane Sampson’s complexion glowed beautifully every day.

"I’m ready, let’s go downstairs to eat breakfast." Jane Sampson rubbed her belly, "Waking up early makes you hungry early."

Saying this, Jane Sampson took James Black’s hand, smiling, and went downstairs.

It’s rare for James Black to still be home when she gets up, so it’s also rare for him to be there watching while she gets ready.

The good mood of this day started with the first surprise upon waking up.

Downstairs, Aunt saw the two coming down and was surprised, "Jane, you’re early today."

Greeting both, Aunt quickly went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for them. With many in the house, everyone’s schedule differed. Ever since James started living there again, Aunt always prepared breakfast by 5:30 every day.

"What does little Jane want for breakfast? Porridge or milk and bread?" Aunt asked Jane Sampson from the kitchen doorway.

"Whatever James eats, I’ll have the same." Jane Sampson pulled out a chair to sit, thought for a moment, and added, "Are there buns? If so, I’ll have a bun."

"There are." Aunt nodded with a smile. James Black often had porridge and buns for breakfast, so with him in the house, there were always buns, made with dough prepared the previous night and meat filling chopped in advance by Aunt.
