Chainsaw Man: Mangekyo Sharingan
Chapter 247: The Plan Going Forward
Chapter 247: Chapter 247: The Plan Going Forward
Fami remained completely silent, watching the show from the sidelines while casually picking up a cookie from the table and stuffing it into her mouth.
Asa Mitaka, on the other hand, only felt even more awkward. The flush on her face practically screamed embarrassment, and even the way she sat had become noticeably stiff.
Her feelings right now were complicated beyond words.
"Ahem..."
Kotone Asaba finally spoke. "Enough messing around. It’s time to talk about something serious."
Death actually stopped after that. She released Kotone’s arm, apparently satisfied with the reaction she had gotten.
"When will the people who died come back?"
Kotone immediately turned to the important matter at hand.
So many people around the world had died today that the consequences were unimaginably severe.
Aside from those currently sitting here, no outsiders knew the truth, namely that those "dead" people had not truly died.
Kotone wanted those "dead" people to return to the human world as soon as possible, preventing a whole chain of unnecessary problems from arising afterward.
That would also make it easier for him to launch a worldwide information campaign explaining the advantages and disadvantages of becoming one of the "new humans" the Death Devil had described. After that, everyone could make their own choice.
"Don’t be impatient. They’ll start coming back one after another very soon," the Death Devil replied.
"I hope so. Then what are you planning to do during this next month?" Kotone asked.
"Nothing. If I had to say, I suppose I’ll just wander around the human world and have some fun."
The Death Devil lazily leaned back against the couch. Her underwear was faintly visible, and her posture showed absolutely no sense of caution or modesty.
Of course, Kotone didn’t deliberately look, nor did he entertain any inappropriate thoughts.
He would have to be insane to provoke such a dangerous "woman."
He had a feeling that one major reason she had compromised was because of her other three sisters.
Back when Asa had been in danger, Death’s loss of composure had made it obvious that she genuinely cared deeply about her sisters.
Kotone alone definitely wouldn’t have been enough to keep her under control.
Still, he couldn’t stop himself from commenting, "Do you Devils seriously have no sense of shame?"
Makima sat quietly off to the side sipping her tea without saying a word.
Asa also thought the Death Devil’s posture was rather shameless, but she certainly didn’t dare say it aloud.
Fami tilted her already-cocked head even farther to one side, seemingly unable to understand what he meant by a sense of shame.
The Death Devil, meanwhile, curled her lips into an amused smile. She moved directly beside Kotone and pressed herself almost completely against him before whispering into his ear, "Don’t tell me you were sneaking looks at me just now?"
"Don’t slander me. The way you were sitting, nobody needed to sneak a look."
Kotone answered without hesitation, then returned to the subject. "Anyway, once the people who died come back, we can move on to the next step and let everyone make their own choice."
That was his plan.
One month wasn’t exactly short, but it wasn’t long either. He had to get all of this done before the deadline the Death Devil had given him.
Tomorrow, he would go explain the situation to Yuki Kirisu in advance so they could make proper preparations.
For today, he would rest first. Tokyo Public Safety also needed time to restore normal order.
But the night was anything but peaceful.
"Are you sure we should let her stay here?"
Inside Kotone’s bedroom, Reze stared warily at the Death Devil, clearly finding it difficult to trust her.
After all, less than a day ago, they had still been mortal enemies.
