Chapter 252: Chapter 252: I Don’t Like Killing (EC)

"All right. As long as the condition isn’t too unreasonable, I can agree to it," Kotone Asaba said.

Of course, he already knew the Death Devil wasn’t the easiest person to negotiate with, so he had been mentally prepared for this from the start.

After that, Kotone waited for the results from the first day of voting.

By the next day...

Through the Cabinet, Kotone obtained the preliminary data firsthand. Only 5.763% of voters were willing to accept the proposal, while everyone else had voted against it.

Although the voting period would remain open for an entire month, the percentages from the very first day were already enough to reveal quite a lot.

By the time voting officially ended, even excluding those who never cast a ballot, the percentage in favor probably wouldn’t exceed ten percent. However, anyone who didn’t vote would automatically be counted as accepting the proposal, so the total number of people included should still be fairly substantial.

"About what I expected. Not many people are willing to accept it."

Kotone showed Setsuna the data as he spoke.

"That’s all?"

Setsuna seemed somewhat dissatisfied with the result.

"Of course. There aren’t many people who aren’t afraid of Devils, and something this unknown is naturally hard for people to trust," Kotone said calmly.

"Fair enough. I’ll go with you to that television station today, then," Setsuna said.

"Yeah, but when you make your show of force, make absolutely sure you don’t kill anyone in front of the public. Otherwise, it’ll only have the opposite effect."

Kotone deliberately emphasized that point. His biggest concern was that Setsuna might simply follow her whims and kill someone whenever she felt like it.

"Don’t worry. I don’t like killing people," Setsuna declared with complete confidence.

Kotone nearly couldn’t stop himself from making a sarcastic remark.

Hearing the Death Devil herself claim that she didn’t like killing people wasn’t exactly convincing.

...

That afternoon, Kotone was scheduled to be interviewed as the strongest Devil Hunter in Tokyo Public Safety.

It was a title Yuki Kirisu had arranged for him, though to be fair, there wasn’t anything particularly inaccurate about it.

At the moment, Kotone and Setsuna were waiting inside Yuki’s office for a media crew to arrive at Tokyo Public Safety.

"So this is Miss Death Devil?"

Yuki couldn’t help staring curiously at Setsuna.

"That’s right. She’s the Death Devil. You can also call her Setsuna," Kotone introduced.

"Oh~ I never would’ve guessed the legendary Four Horsewomen were all beautiful women," Yuki exclaimed.

"Thank you for the compliment. You’re pretty cute yourself, miss~" Setsuna replied with a bright smile.

She loved hearing people state obvious truths like that.

"Huh?!"

Yuki immediately bristled.

"I’m not some little girl! ..."

Halfway through her protest, however, she suddenly changed her tune.

"Forget it. Let’s just keep talking about business."

In front of Setsuna, she didn’t really have much ground to argue.

Nobody knew how many years the Death Devil had existed in this world. Compared to her, Yuki really was practically a child.

"Speaking of which, Asaba, how did you manage to make those old men in the Cabinet completely change their attitudes? I’ve never seen them become so cooperative before."

Yuki was extremely curious about that.

"Nothing special. I just forced them to obey," Kotone said casually.

He had no intention of casually revealing the existence of his genjutsu.

If word somehow got out and the world learned that a Devil Hunter possessed the ability to control the highest governing authority of an entire country...

It would undoubtedly cause an enormous uproar worldwide, and that wouldn’t benefit him in the slightest.
