Chapter 244: Chapter 177: Taking Silu to Experience a Luxurious Private Jet?
He looked at Wen Wan and said, "Wen Wan, we’ll have to work a bit harder for the next couple of days. We need to revisit the shops that showed interest and tell them about our package deal model."
"Okay," Wen Wan nodded.
In truth, she wasn’t afraid of hard work. Besides, getting to go out with the class president was a happy occasion in itself.
Just like that, Jiang Sifan drove Wen Wan around as they spent the next few days canvassing the surrounding districts.
They negotiated their package deals with the shops that hadn’t yet signed on.
Just as they’d expected, the shops weren’t interested at first. But when they heard about bundling two or three stores into one deal, the cost-effectiveness became obvious.
Consequently, many shops started contacting their neighbors.
By the end of the day, they had surprisingly managed to sign two package deals.
Each package deal was for three shops.
In other words, Jiang Sifan and Wen Wan had successfully signed a total of six shops today.
This was far more efficient than their usual method of signing one shop at a time.
「That evening.」
Jiang Sifan took Wen Wan to a nice restaurant to celebrate.
After sitting down, Wen Wan looked at the menu, her expression clearly worried. "Class President, won’t this be too expensive? Why don’t we go to the snack street near campus instead?"
Jiang Sifan shook his head. "We signed so many deals today. We have to celebrate properly. I won’t have you saying such discouraging things."
Hearing this, Wen Wan had no choice but to nod.
Shortly after, the waiter began bringing out the dishes.
Jiang Sifan had also ordered a bottle of red wine for the celebration.
Just as he was about to pour some for Wen Wan, she shook her head. "Class President, I don’t drink."
"It’s fine. You won’t get drunk from this. Just have a little," Jiang Sifan said, pouring her a small amount.
He raised his glass and clinked it against Wen Wan’s. "Come on, Wen Wan. Cheers!"
Wen Wan had rarely seen Jiang Sifan this happy. Although she had never had red wine before, she decided to make an exception today.
After taking a small sip, she found the red wine was actually quite good.
Jiang Sifan then put some food on Wen Wan’s plate. "You should eat more. You’ve been working so hard these past few days. Besides, you must not have much left for living expenses, right?"
As he spoke, Jiang Sifan transferred three thousand to Wen Wan. "We signed six shops today, so our cash flow has improved. I’m giving you your cut from these six deals now."
Seeing this, Wen Wan quickly refused, shaking her head. "No, Class President, I still owe you money. I can’t take this."
"We’ll worry about what you owe me later. Right now, you have more pressing needs to deal with. If I hadn’t been bringing you breakfast these past couple of days, you would’ve just skipped it, wouldn’t you?"
As expected, Wen Wan’s face flushed red, having been seen right through by Jiang Sifan.
Jiang Sifan comforted her, "Don’t worry, we’re partners. If you’re in trouble, I’d never just stand by and do nothing."
"Thank you, Class President." Wen Wan was deeply moved.
After that, the two of them ate and chatted.
Wen Wan found these moments incredibly heartwarming.
But as they ate, Jiang Sifan noticed that her face was getting redder and redder.
’She only had less than half a glass of wine, how is she already this flushed?’
Later that night, Jiang Sifan struggled to get her onto his electric scooter to take her back to the dorm.
He was worried she would fall, so he had her wrap her arms around his waist. He then firmly held her hands in place to make sure she was secure.
And so, he drove her back to her dorm, slowly and carefully.
During the ride, Wen Wan mumbled drunkenly, "Class President, I’m actually so envious of you..."
Jiang Sifan was taken aback for a second. "Envious of what?"
"Uncle Lu really does care about you... And your parents, they love and care for you so much..." Wen Wan explained.
Her words struck a nerve, but Jiang Sifan remained defiant. "I don’t believe he cares about me."
"Uncle Lu really does care about you. It’s easy to see it in someone’s eyes when they care. I’ve seen that look from my parents... when they look at my younger brother. It’s just that they’ve never looked at me that way." As she spoke, Wen Wan began to cry.
For a moment, Jiang Sifan didn’t know how to comfort her. He could only listen as Wen Wan continued, "Ever since I was little, all I thought about was studying hard so I could leave the countryside and come to a big city. That way, I wouldn’t have to go back to that house... a house that only has room for my brother."
"Class President, do you think that makes me selfish?"
"Not selfish. Not at all," Jiang Sifan comforted her. "Your mother doesn’t even care if you have enough to live on, she just keeps demanding things from you. I felt it wasn’t my place to say anything before, but since you’ve brought it up, I think you have every right to be a little selfish and focus all your energy on yourself."
"My mom asked me for money again today," Wen Wan said suddenly.
Jiang Sifan’s heart sank. ’Don’t tell me she caved again?’ he thought.
But Wen Wan just whispered, "This time, though, I ignored her."
