Chapter 450: Chapter 249: Son Forgave Dad?

Jiang Sifan was silent for a moment.

Jiang Sifan: [Can you handle it on your own?]

Jiang Silu: [I don’t know. But how will I know if I don’t try?]

Jiang Sifan: [Does Dad know?]

Jiang Silu: [I haven’t told him yet. I wanted to ask you first.]

Jiang Sifan: [I think you should give it a shot, but you need to think it through. Starting a business is no joke.]

Jiang Silu stared at the message, her resolve hardening.

She knew her brother was right. Starting a business was no joke.

But she didn’t want to sit around doing nothing.

’If my brother can start a business, why can’t I?’

Besides, that four hundred thousand yuan wasn’t a small amount.

Now that Jiang Sifan and Wen Wan wanted to repay their father for that expense, she wanted to contribute in her own small way, too.

Jiang Silu took a deep breath, found Lu Fan’s number, and dialed.

The phone rang twice before someone picked up.

Lu Fan’s voice, tinged with a smile, came through the phone. "Silu? What made you decide to call your dad?"

Jiang Silu hesitated for a moment before replying, "Dad, I want to discuss something with you."

"What is it? Go ahead."

"I want to start a business."

The other end of the line went quiet for a second.

When Lu Fan spoke again, his voice had a serious edge. "What kind of business? Tell me about it."

Jiang Silu took a deep breath and explained her idea of opening a design studio.

She wanted to do landscape design, take on some small projects, and start by getting clients online to slowly build a customer base and a portfolio.

She spoke slowly, sometimes pausing to think before continuing.

She talked for about ten minutes, saying everything she could think of.

After listening, Lu Fan was silent for a few seconds, and then he laughed, his voice filled with gratification. "Alright. You wait. I’ll have someone come over and help you look into it."

Jiang Silu was taken aback. "Have someone come over? Who?"

"A designer. Don’t you know Xiaoya? The one who helped you with your draft last time. I’ll have her bring a few people over to give you some advice. Starting a business is a big deal; you need someone to help you vet the process."

Jiang Silu opened her mouth to say something but swallowed her words.

She had only meant to ask for her father’s opinion, not expecting him to send people over directly.

She felt both warm and flustered.

"Dad, you don’t have to go to all this trouble..."

Lu Fan cut her off, his tone leaving no room for argument, but his voice was still smiling. "It’s no trouble. Just wait. I’ll have Jiali arrange it."

With that, he hung up the phone.

Jiang Silu clutched her phone, stunned for a good while.

Song Miaomiao returned from the library, pushing the door open to see her sitting on the edge of the bed in a daze. "Silu, what’s wrong? You look pale."

"My dad said he’s sending people to help me start my business," Jiang Silu explained, shaking her head.

Song Miaomiao’s eyes lit up. She ran over and sat beside her. "Really? Who’s he sending? When are they coming?"

Before Jiang Silu could answer, her phone vibrated again.

It was a message from Jiali, saying that Xiaoya and two other designers would arrive at the school at two in the afternoon and wait for her at a coffee shop.

Jiang Silu looked at the message, a sudden wave of nervousness washing over her.

"At two this afternoon. My dad sent their designers to have a meeting with me," Jiang Silu told Song Miaomiao.

Song Miaomiao was excited. "A meeting? What kind of meeting? A business start-up meeting?"

Jiang Silu nodded, unable to stop a smile from spreading across her own face.

At two in the afternoon, inside the coffee shop, Xiaoya had already arrived.

She was wearing a white blouse, her hair tied in a low ponytail, looking capable yet gentle.

Beside her sat two young designers, a man and a woman. The man wore black-rimmed glasses, and the woman had short hair. Both were looking through their tablets.

Several cups of coffee sat on the table, still steaming.

When Jiang Silu pushed the door open and saw Xiaoya, she froze for a second.

The last time she had seen Xiaoya was in the hospital when she was sick. Xiaoya had come to help her revise her design draft.

Xiaoya was a very kind person—patient and meticulous. She had taught her many practical skills.

"Silu, long time no see." Xiaoya stood up, greeted her with a smile, and came over to take her hand.

Jiang Silu walked over, saying a little sheepishly, "Sister Xiaoya, sorry to trouble you all."

Xiaoya shook her head and pulled her down to sit. "It’s no trouble. President Lu said you wanted to start a business, and we’re all very supportive. Come on, start by telling us your idea."

Jiang Silu took a deep breath and once again explained her idea of opening a design studio.

She spoke slowly, sometimes pausing to think before continuing.

Xiaoya and the two designers listened quietly, occasionally jotting down a few notes on their tablets or exchanging a look.

When she finished, Xiaoya nodded in approval. "The idea is very good, but starting a business requires more than just an idea. You need a detailed plan."

She flipped open her tablet, which was covered in a dense list of items.

Team composition, equipment procurement, venue leasing, marketing and promotion, project quoting, legal risks, tax registration, opening a bank account...

Item after item was listed, clear and categorized, with priorities marked.

As Jiang Silu looked at the list, her confidence suddenly wavered.

She thought she had been quite thorough, but compared to what Xiaoya had listed, she was far from it.

She hadn’t even thought about tax registration.

Xiaoya noticed her nervousness and replied with a smile, "Don’t worry. These are all things that can be handled one step at a time. Let’s start with funding. How much do you plan to invest?"

Jiang Silu thought for a moment, then said awkwardly, "I’ve saved up a few thousand yuan. If I borrow some from my classmates, I can probably scrape together about ten thousand."

"That’s not enough. A computer powerful enough to run design software alone will cost seven or eight thousand. Then there’s software licensing, printing equipment, rent for a space, business registration, prepaid taxes... For the initial phase, you’ll need at least one hundred thousand," Xiaoya said, shaking her head. Her tone was gentle but firm.

The color drained from Jiang Silu’s face.
