Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 472 - 256: Jiang Silu: Brother, Mom Doesn’t Hate Dad Anymore. What About You?
The next morning, Jiang Silu was woken by the bright sunlight.
The sun in Yangcheng was much more diligent than in Jinling. It was only a little past seven, but it was already hanging brightly in the sky, slipping into the room through the gap in the curtains.
She rolled over and pulled the blanket over her head. After stewing for a moment, she peeked out and squinted at her phone.
No new messages.
She shoved her phone under the pillow, rolled over again, and faced the wall.
'Her mind started racing with thoughts of the day ahead.'
'Dad said he was going to take them out somewhere, but I wonder where.'
Lost in thought, she finally sat up, leaned against the headboard, and stretched languidly.
A noise came from the living room, followed by Lu Fan's voice. "Time to get up. I'm taking you all somewhere today."
Jiang Silu froze for a second, then quickly jumped out of bed, threw on some clothes, and pulled open her door.
Lu Fan was standing in the middle of the living room. He wore a light gray, thin sweater, his hair was neatly combed, and he held a cup of coffee, looking refreshed and full of energy.
Jiang Sifan and Wen Wan had also been woken up and came out of their respective rooms.
Wen Wan was rubbing her eyes. Her hair was a mess, and she hadn't washed her face yet. When she saw Lu Fan standing in the living room, her face instantly turned red, and she quickly ducked back into her room, closing the door behind her.
Jiang Silu couldn't help but laugh when she saw this.
"Dad, where are we going?" Jiang Silu asked.
Lu Fan took a sip of his coffee and said cheerfully, "Changlong Wildlife Park."
At his words, Jiang Silu froze.
Jiang Sifan froze too. He was standing at the end of the hallway with a towel in his hand, his sleepy expression replaced by one of surprise.
"Changlong?" Jiang Silu's eyes lit up. "For real?" she asked excitedly.
"For real," Lu Fan said with a smile. "You never went when you were little, so we're making up for it now."
Jiang Silu turned to look at Jiang Sifan and shouted excitedly, "Brother, did you hear that? We're going to Changlong!"
Even though they were college students now.
But to be honest, they really hadn't been to Changlong Wildlife Park all these years.
A single ticket cost several hundred, an amount they never would have dared to spend back in middle school.
Jiang Sifan didn't say anything. The corner of his mouth twitched, making it impossible to tell if he was smiling or not.
He took his towel and went back into his room, closing the door.
Jiang Silu pouted at the closed door, then turned back to look at Lu Fan.
Lu Fan just smiled without saying anything and walked out to the balcony with his coffee.
When Wen Wan came out again, she had already washed her face, tied up her hair, and changed into a white sweatshirt.
She walked over to Jiang Silu and asked in a low voice, "Are we really going to Changlong?"
"Really! My dad said so!" Jiang Silu grabbed Wen Wan's hand and said with a smile, "Sister Wen Wan, you've probably never been, right?"
Wen Wan shook her head and said softly, "No, this is my first time in Yangcheng."
"That's great! I haven't been either!" Jiang Silu laughed.
After saying this, she paused.
'She was already nineteen and had never been to Changlong.'
When she was little, Jiang Yixia raised her and Jiang Sifan all by herself. Times were tight; forget going to Changlong, even a simple meal out had to be carefully calculated.
Later, in middle school, she was busy with her studies, and during vacations, she had to help Jiang Yixia at the shop. The trip to Changlong was put off, and as time went on, it was eventually forgotten.
To think that now, at nineteen, she was finally going to Changlong.
She suddenly felt a prickle in her nose, but she held back the tears and said with a smile, "I'm going to get Mom!"
Jiang Yixia was at home.
She was in the kitchen making congee. The pot was bubbling away, and the aroma of rice filled the entire house.
When Jiang Silu pushed the door open and came in, she was slicing a century egg.
"Mom!" Jiang Silu ran to the kitchen doorway and shouted with a grin, "Dad said he's taking us to Changlong! You should come too!"
The knife in Jiang Yixia's hand paused. She looked up at her daughter and said with a sigh of resignation, "You guys go ahead. I'm not going, I have things to do at the flower shop."
"What's there to do at the flower shop? Didn't you say you wouldn't be busy until next week?" Jiang Silu pressed, refusing to give up.
"It's enough that your father is taking you. Why should I tag along and get in the way?" Jiang Yixia lowered her head and continued slicing the century egg.
Jiang Silu ran over, hugged Jiang Yixia's arm, and rested her head on her shoulder, starting to wheedle. "Mom, please come with us. It'll be so nice for the whole family to go out together. I've never been to Changlong in my whole life, and you haven't either, right? Please, please come with us."
Jiang Yixia was being shaken so much by her daughter that she could barely hold the knife steady. She sighed and said with a laugh, "Alright, alright, stop shaking me. You're going to make me spill the congee."
"So you'll come?" Jiang Silu lifted her head, her eyes sparkling as she looked at her.
Jiang Yixia looked at her daughter's excited face for a few seconds. The corners of her mouth turned up, and she said with a laugh, "Fine, fine, I'll go. I give up."
Jiang Silu let out a cheer, gave Jiang Yixia a kiss on the cheek, and spun around to run out, shouting as she went, "I'm going to tell my brother!"
Jiang Yixia stood in the kitchen, watching her daughter's retreating back, and was lost in thought for a moment.
The congee in the pot was still bubbling. She picked up the spoon and gave it a stir. A smile played on her lips, but as it lingered, her eyes began to redden.
'The whole family, going to Changlong.'
She remembered Jiang Sifan as a little boy, lying over the flower shop counter and drawing. He had drawn a lopsided giraffe and said, "Mommy, I want to see a real giraffe."
At the time, she had said, "I'll take you when Mommy makes enough money."
Later, she made the money, but her child had also grown up.
He no longer pestered her about going to the zoo.
She sniffled, poured the sliced century egg into the pot, gave it a stir, and called out toward the door, "Time to eat!"
Since Wen Wan and the others were staying in the house Lu Fan had bought, they all came over to Jiang Yixia's place after washing up.
Jiang Silu ran out of the kitchen, plopped down next to Wen Wan, and craned her neck to look at Wen Wan's phone. "Sister Wen Wan, what are you looking at?" she asked curiously.
