Cheat Cultivator's Ascension

Chapter 562 - 562: An Odd Sensation

Had they been moving through more populated places rather than obscure, more difficult paths towards the vampire race's greatest bastion, the entourage of twelve extremely powerful guardians, along with six younger experts, would definitely attract a lot of attention.

Especially when one take into account the fact that this group had been moving in a speed that cannot be caught by any mortal's naked eyes, maintaining such speed for a prolonged period of time.

Looking at the person moving ahead of the group, the leader of the Bloodsword Guards couldn't help but feel impressed, especially when she thought of the fact that even with such show of speed from that immortal-like figure, it seems like there wasn't even any semblance of struggle in his part at all.

"Amazing, isn't he?" moving beside the guards' leader, Leona, a familiar voice drifted towards her ears, prompting her to look at her side, seeing the face of the princess she is supposed to accompany and protect during this entire mission.

She saw the faint smugness on the younger lady's face, making her wonder about its reason, before her eyes drifts towards the leading figure once again, unknowingly nodding to the princess' question as she acknowledges his strength as well.

After all, it is standing in front of this very person previously that made her feel like such a helpless being in front of a monstrous existence once again, a feeling that she never had ever since the first time she met her queen.

The other young ladies of their respective clans and forces also joined in on the conversation of the two vampires, pleasant giggles and laughter soon ringing across the air as they continue with their travel, taking in the good view every once in a while.

On the other hand, the immortal-like young man moving in front focuses on other things, sure, his senses are powerful enough that he can pick up their conversations despite the distance and the blowing air around him, but his attention seems to be focused on other things right now.

While utilizing his prowess to soar across the skies, the immortal-like young man couldn't help but feel something incredibly off causing him to keep himself on edge, what is weird about all of this though is the fact that it wasn't really anything dangerous, but a sensation closer to discomfort that he is feeling.

It was as if there is this itch that he just couldn't quite scratch.

The air moves towards him, allowing him to sense the mixture of mana and spirit qi, his senses, amplified by his ever-expanding pedestal, allowing him to detect the minute changes happening between the two of them as they interact.

'Is this it?' Su Xiaotian asked, his attention not towards the dance of spirit qi and mana seemingly representing some sort of natural order or law, but rather towards his pedestal, something, an instinct, deep within him telling him that this is a valuable treasure he has yet to tap the full potential of.

Sure, he was already aware of this fact ever since he acquired the ability to grow his pedestal beyond the Pedestal Establishment Realm, but right now, he feels like there is so much more to it than just being an ever-improving foundation that he can use to improve his combat prowess on.

'I'll need to investigate it further…' he made a mental note to himself, but deciding to push in-depth study of this thing that even his future self was completely unfamiliar with, knowing full well that uncovering the buried potentials of this treasure is something that will more than likely, take quite the long time.

"Sir Su, it's getting late and there's a city nearby, should we take a rest and continue the next day?"

Snapping him out of his daze, Su Xiaotian heard the voice of the Bloodsword Guards' leader, Leona, suggesting rest, prompting him to look back, seeing the slightly haggard state of the ladies following him, even the specially trained Bloodsword Guards couldn't help but look at him as if he's a monster.

After all, when he previously entered a trance, his speed gradually picked up as he started restricting himself less and less, and with his increase in speed, his companions, already moving at their fastest, also started pushing themselves beyond their limits to keep up with his pace.

"Let's do that." He flashed a gentle smile as he gives his nod, his eyes slightly apologetic as he gazes towards the rest of the group before he descends down the ground, helping the already disheveled young heirs of the Western Continent's powerful forces with their descend.

Soul power gently wraps them as they unstably descend, mana already being drained from their being after the sudden speed up that broke their pace, and even Liliana, whose strength is already beyond theirs as she converted into being a cultivator, still feels quite tired from the travel as well.

They felt it, gentle, invisible force helping them allowing them to gracefully fall down the ground, a mysterious phenomenon that their minds simultaneously deduced as something that is made possible through that specific figure's means.

As they look at that gentle, disarming smile on the immortal-like young man's face, even the cheekiest among them, the princess of the dream demons, couldn't help but feel quite shy, averting her gaze away as she felt blood rushing towards her cheeks, faint redness apparent on her face despite the approaching night depriving the surrounding environment of light.

"Young ladies, Sir Su, we walk from here." Leona slightly bows her head as if she's apologizing for the inconvenience, but the young heirs of their respective forces merely smiles and nod at her, as if there's no problem about it at all.

Su Xiaotian also thought the same, a smile appearing on his face as he shakes his head, dismissing the small issue that this older lady seems to thought so big of.

Despite knowing that the smile is genuine, that his act is of assuring her that he doesn't mind it at all, Leona still couldn't help but feel like she is walking on tenterhooks in front of him, a kind of fear, innate, primordial, to almost anyone when facing existences whose power goes beyond their understanding.

Still, that smile manages to soothe more than it terrifies her, eventually allowing her to heave a sigh of relief as she leads them through the path towards the entrance of the city.

Unsurprisingly, with the armor that only the finest people of the queen can wear, a symbol of authority as much as it is a powerful equipment, allowed them to pass the gates without any problem, after all, a city under the vampires' control feels nothing but respect towards anyone of the Bloodsword Guards, the finest swords and aides of the queen.

In fact, with their influence, the group easily managed to find a good place to stay for the night, initially for free, but mixture of integrity and respect for the less fortunate made Leona refuse such offer, paying for each individual room that they will use during their stay for the night.

"Then, we'll see you tomorrow, Sir Su."

Being the only man in the group, Su Xiaotian, for better or worse, acquired an entire room all for himself, merely scanning the lavish, grandiose details of this certainly high-end room before he find himself sitting in the bed, prepared to enter the Infinite Qi Dimension and meet his family again.
