"We have to go this way. Watch the surroundings closely, and don't make a sound if there's any danger."

The man leading them adopted a serious expression, his tone deep.

If they really encounter a tiger, it's likely all of them will perish here.

But thankfully, there were no mishaps; although the path up the mountain was steep, everyone made it safely.

"Over there!"

Suddenly, a sharp-eyed man raised his hand and pointed into the distance, speaking up.

Qin Feng's pupils contracted, and his vision shifted. He saw a rope tied to a tree in the distance, the other end stretching downward towards Eagle's Beak Cliff.

As the group rejoiced, Qin Feng's heart sank.

The rope wasn't still; instead, it swayed left and right, but the direction and frequency of the sway seemed less like a person and more like the wind blowing.

Something has gone wrong!

"Quick!" A few of them jogged over to the tree with the rope tied to it. As they reached it, they noticed the problem, and their faces changed drastically.

"Xiaoya, she..."

"Stop the nonsense, pull the rope first!" The leading man barked.

Two of them quickly started pulling the rope up, and upon touching it, their expressions became even more serious.

No weight!

Once the rope was pulled up, they found the end already frayed, as if torn apart by a massive force.

"What do we do now?" someone asked.

"Is Xiaoya just... gone?"

"How are we supposed to explain this?"

....

Seeing the situation, the group was flustered, while Qin Feng stepped forward, picked up the rope end, and fell into contemplation.

What had torn the rope apart?

A beast?

Impossible!

The little girl hanging mid-air couldn't possibly be reached by a beast of that size, let alone tear a hemp rope as thick as an arm. How big would it need to be?

The wind broke it?

If it were indeed wind, then it wouldn't be right; there should be clear signs of abrasion at the point of the break.

"Strange." Qin Feng was lost in doubt as well.

What to do now?

Should they just head back?

No!

His heart was filled with guilt, if he hadn't told Han Xianchen and the little girl about the herb that could cure rheumatism, she wouldn't have come here.

"Guys, I'm good at climbing, I'd like to go down and take a look."

"No way!"

"Don't worry, I'm confident. If anything happens, you can just pull me up," Qin Feng cut off the other's words, speaking sternly, "None of you are as skilled in climbing as I am. At least, we need to see them alive or dead, otherwise, I'll never have peace of mind."

With that, he took the rope from another person and tied it to the tree.

"No way, if anyone's going down, it's us!"

"Enough talk, guys, keep watch for me, I'm entrusting my life to all of you." Saying that, Qin Feng secured the rope around himself and, without another word, turned around and grabbed the cliff, flipping down like a falcon.

Watching this scene, the others felt their hearts jump to their throats.

They've been in the mountains for a long time, yet they've never witnessed someone so skilled and daring.

Qin Feng, with his powerful grip, climbed downwards, suspended in mid-air. About three to four minutes later, he reached a regular cliff, where his feet could finally stabilize on the rocks.

He grew increasingly worried, how did the little girl get down?

No time to think, he continued searching downward, finally finding traces of cut vines on a vine-covered section.

It seemed Xiaoya had already reached this point.

Approximately twenty minutes later, the rope he was using ran out. He quickly connected the ends of another coil of rope he carried, continuing downwards.

The light in the mountain gorge grew dimmer, plunging everything into darkness.

Qin Feng's pupils automatically adjusted, allowing him to once again see the situation in the gorge. Bitter cold winds struck him like blades, something unbearable for most.

Suddenly, he noticed a small basket hanging from a vine not far below.

Reaching the spot, he picked up the basket, containing a sickle and segmented Thunder vine.

"She really found it." Qin Feng murmured.

Though traces were found, where did she actually go?

Just as he decided to continue downwards, a strange howling suddenly resonated from the gorge before he could react.

From the darkness, a glaring light emerged, rapidly streaking past with the wind between both sides of the cliff, like a fierce wind.

Zzzzt!

A sound of breakage was heard, the hemp rope falling from above.

It broke!

"Damn!"

Subsequently, a powerful gust blew through the depths of the mountain, directly wrenching him from the cliff, his strong grip pulling chunks of stone free, yet it was futile as his body plummeted downwards.

Qin Feng's heart turned cold, a bitter smile of despair on his face.

It's over!

This time, I'm dead!

On top of the cliff, the men noticed the rope suddenly jerk upwards and then fall back down, startling them.

Rushing forward to tug the rope madly, they found that it too had broken.

"It's over, we're doomed!" The leading man turned ghostly white, like a lost soul murmuring.

Xiaoya has fallen off the cliff, now Dr. Qin has too. He felt like he could die from sorrow.

At this point, as his body rapidly fell, familiar faces and events appeared before him, Liu Yan'Er, Qiao Changping, Director Zhou...

He knew his life was nearing its end, but his heart was full of regret.

So many things left undone, so many words left unsaid, even the light and fierce wind just now were mysteries he wished he could solve.

However, time was running out.

Probably reaching the bottom soon, but it's okay, still a hero after 18 years. It's just a pity the system is gone; everything now relies on himself.

Goodbye, my love.

Goodbye, my friends.

Goodbye, my patients.

"Huh?"

Qin Feng opened his eyes again, finding he was still falling; hasn't this gone on for too long?

Based on the time they spent climbing, he should've already been dead in the gorge, yet he remained in mid-air.

He looked around, finding everything pitch black, even with his eyes adjusting, he couldn't see a thing.

What's going on?

The next moment, a system alert suddenly echoed in his mind.

[Ding! Danger! Danger!]

[Detected the host is leaving the current time-space, system initiating form transitioning, countdown!]

Bam!

Then, as if he collided with something, a tremendous force instantly knocked him unconscious.

....

In Mawei Village's committee room, Han Xianchen, who had been anxiously awaiting, suddenly shook, his expression instantly becoming calm with a peculiar glow in his eyes.

"Brother Qin, you didn't let me down, hahaha~"

"Huh? Uncle Han, what did you say?" Ye Ying, peeking through the door, heard muttering behind her and turned to inquire.

"Nothing, I'm going to rest." Han Xianchen stood up and walked inside, his steps remarkably light.

"Brother Qin, Xiaoya is entrusted to you, we will meet again."

With that, his whispering voice drifted in the room, gradually fading away.

Along with it, the old man's figure vanished...

[This book is temporarily concluded, apologizing for a year's halt. Though it ends abruptly, it at least draws a temporary close.]

The author apologizes to readers, but due to unsatisfactory progress in later stages, they offer a contrite explanation.

However, they hope the book can reappear differently, leaving a time travel hint like the beginning.

Once the author completes some significant life matters, they'll resume writing this story.

The upcoming narrative will involve thrilling experiences of East-West medical clashes and inheritance across different time-spaces. The book, despite being an exciting read, commits to rational thought, neither criticizing nor idolizing, pursuing a realistic path of integrating traditional and modern medicine for healing.

We'll meet again!]
