Chen Ping's Sword
Chapter 593 - 251: Soul Ascension, Backed by Someone
Ji Xuantong’s right hand turned a ghastly white, sharp nails extending like blades, just about to touch the Soul Stealing Gourd at his waist, when a white light flashed before his eyes.
"Whoosh..."
He suddenly felt excruciating pain at his wrist and only realized after being struck that the white light was actually a sword, moving faster than human perception.
’There are actually two swords, using the same Sword Control Technique.’
While Ji Xuantong was shocked, he couldn’t afford to think too deeply.
In mid-air, that Jade Sword transformed into a dragon, blocking two or three blows from the flying jade-colored Sword Light. Already it had become full of holes, and its size had significantly diminished.
’The rumors still underestimated him. Even the Puppet Dharma Body of my ancestors can’t withstand three moves... Situ Hao was supposed to lure him into a trap and attack together. Where did he go?’
At this moment, he vaguely sensed something was terribly wrong.
Fortunately, he still had a final card to play.
With his injured right hand, he suppressed the pain and reached down only to grab at empty air, clutching nothing but a partially broken red ribbon.
"My gourd..."
Ji Xuantong’s expression finally changed dramatically, turning to panic and despair.
The Jade Sword Puppet Dragon couldn’t defeat the opponent, and he wasn’t afraid.
His arm was slashed, revealing bone, yet he wasn’t in a panic.
But with the gourd gone, he finally grew anxious.
Without the gourd, how could he contend with the formidable enemy before him?
"I am doomed!"
Just as this thought crossed his mind, that jade-colored Sword Light, like a dragon twisting its body, broke free from the mid-air obstruction of the Cyan Dragon Puppet Dharma Body.
A gleam swept across his throat.
In the next moment, he saw the world spinning, and after that, he knew nothing.
"Kill, slaughter them all."
Chen Ping coldly ordered.
At this moment, Han Xiaoru and Yuk Zhixian, among others, had just rushed into the fray, and those commanders and mid-aged scholars hadn’t grasped the situation.
They only saw flickering lights, heard powerful Qi roaring, feeling unsteady on their feet from afar, and when they looked again, their Crown Prince’s head was already flying in mid-air, exploding into a mist of blood like fireworks.
The tall, headless figure in the black python robe slowly fell, silent.
"Crown Prince..."
For a moment, hundreds of guards and commanders lost their will to fight, swiftly slaughtered by Han Xiaoru, Yuk Zhixian, and Yuann Qiuhuo.
By this time, Chen Ping’s thoughts were whirling as he began to summon the Little Cyan Bird in his mind, letting it fly into the air to survey dozens of miles around him.
Discovering no other hidden experts or forces, he finally relaxed.
"Oh, Little Cyan is here too. Why didn’t I let it fly into the air earlier to scout the enemies? It would have saved my junior brother from running around scouting in person."
Han Xiaoru sheathed her broadsword, her eyes shining brightly when she saw the Little Cyan Bird, smiling so wide she couldn’t close her mouth, holding it in her hands.
She laughingly took out finely roasted strips of venison from the pouch at her waist to feed it.
She had become quite proficient at this.
During the earlier military expedition, the Little Cyan Bird had followed her for quite some time, and although they couldn’t communicate or accurately understand its bird language, she somewhat guessed the meaning of some of its gestures.
Han Xiaoru didn’t sense the peril of this battle.
In her mind, with her junior brother leading, it was naturally a cinch.
Never mind the Crown Prince of Great Li, even if the Emperor of Great Li himself came, he would certainly be killed.
She could no longer fathom her junior brother’s cultivation level.
It had reached a hopelessly strong height, completely eliminating any desire for victory...
That was quite good after all.
No thinking means no troubles.
Chen Ping couldn’t help but feel some envy seeing Senior Sister Xiaoru like this. Such a life could be very joyous.
He turned to look at Ji Mingyue, slightly out of breath.
She had just rushed back, carefully holding a small purple gourd the size of a baby’s fist in her hand.
"I don’t know how this gourd works, so I didn’t dare move it."
Ji Mingyue had a tense expression as she handed the gourd to Chen Ping, finally letting out a breath.
"Thank you, Xiaoyue."
Chen Ping smiled broadly.
Looking back on this previous battle, it seemed there was no danger at all, effortlessly eliminating all of the Crown Prince of Great Li’s group, and even on their side, no one was injured.
However, only Chen Ping himself knew that a slight mishap in the earlier movements could have resulted in unforeseen consequences.
He had fully operated his Soul Consciousness at the Manifest Saint Realm, wielding the Sword Control Technique for long-range attacks, which in truth, only had the power of three strikes.
This Sword Control Technique is a rather advanced swordsmanship of the Divine Martial level.
Currently, he had only reached the entry level, a bargain acquired through Trace Origin and Steal Fortune.
For the moment, he was reluctant to spend a large amount of Tribulation Points to upgrade it.
Using it wasn’t quite seamless.
But it was quite enough.
The rare talent was Ji Mingyue, who with her early-stage Unity Realm cultivation was able to transcend a great realm and attain Enlightenment of the "Sword Control Technique," which was an extraordinary insight.
Though she only grasped a sliver of the "Sword Control Technique," barely wielding one strike, it was more like a sword strike than true control.
But still, it was an understanding.
And at some level, she possessed a near Divine Martial Realm attack move.
Her exceptional insight into swordsmanship, along with her innate affinity for the sword as a weapon, was astonishing even to Chen Ping.
It’s important to note that Mingcheng, a disciple under Venerable Yuxiao, was already nearing the point of developing his Divine Sense, and his cultivation had reached the peak of the Unity Realm. Even so, just using a Spiritual Artifact that only the Divine Martial Realm could handle left him pale and gasping.
