Chen Ping's Sword

Chapter 677: Breaking Dragon City, Slaying Mingyu (Part 3)

Behind him, the civil and military officials all made offerings to Heaven and Earth, their prayers echoing throughout the entire city…

From all directions, hundreds of thousands recited the Reincarnation Scripture simultaneously, lamenting the sufferings of this life and wishing for blessings in the next.

Their sincerity was genuine, their hatred real, as they cursed the massive sword light stretching across the sky in pursuit.

Fear, shock, worry, unease – all transformed into a colossal malice.

“Die.”

“Die.”

“Why don’t you just die?”

Where this tide began, in dozens of cities near and far, a black light shot up to form a vast screen that enveloped everything below.

Chen Ping stood suspended in midair, feeling the Heaven and Earth around him pressing and rejecting him, countless negative emotions uncontrollably surfacing from his heart.

He seemed to see the disappointment in his grandfather’s eyes from childhood.

And the rebuke and scorn from his parents in his previous life, their angry whips swinging.

Further, he saw the bloodstained clothes of the classmate whose story ended before it began.

He witnessed the moment he was shot and killed, his brother letting go of the gun, tears welling in his eyes.

He even saw the dimming hope and unwilling defiance in Zuo Duanshou’s eyes.

…

“Curse it, deceiving all living beings, not caring for this life but praying for the next, how could you even conceive of such a method.”

Chen Ping stood suspended, his bones cracking gently.

Watching the Black Lotus apparition press lower, he did not unleash the Jade Cloud Sword for the first time.

The Sword Control Technique, guided by Divine Will, was meant for extreme killing.

Yet, regardless of anything, one cannot overlook that this Spiritual Treasure Sword is essentially only a low grade spiritual artifact.

His swordsmanship had indeed surpassed the limits of the Divine Martial Realm, unmatched among those of the same level.

But that doesn’t mean he could shatter an upper grade defensive spiritual artifact’s protection in a short time.

To cut upper grade with low grade, nearly destroying the Black Lotus throne, was already a severe act against nature; to further break the powers of the spiritual artifact consolidated by an entire nation’s wishes and fate seemed beyond reckoning.

However, not impossible.

Chen Ping sneered coldly.

Ignoring the immense Black Lotus pressing like Tai Mountain, he swept his sleeve, and a jade-colored sword light landed on the altar within the city.

Light soared to the sky.

The Azure Dragon Seal trembled violently.

An emerald brilliance appeared out of nothing, covering the black shield above.

The Beizhou’s fate that enveloped the city suddenly became stagnant, the Black Lotus apparition bearing down stopped midway.

“This…”

Venerable Mingyu was dumbfounded.

He never expected that, with the Longevity Sword Order descending, the will of the city’s people and Beizhou’s fortune seemed to no longer obey commands. In other words, for a moment, the fate felt lifeless, devoid of any power.

“Azure Dragon Seal, Suppressing Fate.”

Chen Ping shook his head, gripping the sword’s hilt, his killing intent surging skyward.

No one knew his trump card was never the Sword Control Technique but this indescribable enormous strength.

Each time he advanced a realm, his strength increased threefold compared to ordinary cultivators; even he couldn’t accurately pinpoint how strong he was now.

Or how solid his physique was.

Qi and Blood roared like ocean waves, crashing against the shore.

Under this blood qi rainbow, the Dragon Essence magical power only remained as a faint golden glimmer, while the entire Dragon City was illuminated in crimson by the Blood Flame.

Chen Ping lifted the sword to his brow, slashing toward the sky.

Whirr…

No one could describe the speed and power of this sword.

Just an ordinary vertical slash.

Sword light tore through the vacuum, severing reality from illusion, splitting the sky and earth into halves.

Unable to close for a long time.

In the city’s center, from the south gate to the north gate, the ground silently cracked forming a fissure dozens of feet deep, along the path where the sword light fell, the altar and the civil and military officials were annihilated.

In midair, Venerable Mingyu’s smile hadn’t yet vanished from his face.

The light pattern swept past, dividing his body and soul, along with the massive Black Lotus throne, into halves.

Followed by an explosion of blood rain, like fireworks blooming.

One sword separates Yin and Yang.

All around was silent.

“Venerable Mingxin, or Great Venerable of Reincarnation, if you have any tricks left, better use them now, or else, you might not return to the Black Lotus Hall.”

Chen Ping floated midair, his gaze indifferent, the sword’s tip pointing diagonally downward, with a swirling rainbow of light.

The voice traveled far, shaking a hundred miles.

His gaze pierced through the dark mist, towards the north of Dragon City, where at the foot of the mountains stood a manor, inside which was a Lotus Pool, a Black Lotus blooming exuberantly.

Tremendous fierce qi mechanism rose like wolf smoke, just now ascending.
