Chen Ping's Sword
Chapter 683: Samsara of Three Lives, Demonic Rift (Part 3)
“Zzzla!”
As the mysterious light descended,
behind the fake mountain in the manor, amidst the booming explosions, appeared an extremely ferocious and evil aura.
A roar, indescribable, echoed.
A stench of blood, so thick it was black, suddenly rushed forward.
Black smoke soared into the sky…
The starry sky trembled.
Near and far, all the people of Beizhou Royal City who heard this sound, smelled this stench, or saw the black smoke, suddenly sprouted black fur, their features and bodies began to grow scales and joints, their eyes became fierce, and they let out inexplicable howls.
“What is this?”
Chen Ping’s brows twitched violently.
He recognized it.
He knew what this was.
Back in Venerable Yuxiao’s “Trace Origin and Steal Fortune,” he had seen similar images from afar.
After the giant white light sphere of the Celestial Star Sect was defeated, a rift opened, revealing two towering curved horns and a long hairy hand, and that extremely evil aura was from this thing.
Unexpectedly, this monk from the Black Lotus Hall could manage such a feat.
With his abilities, how could he possibly open a space rift?
‘That’s right, this Cultivation Technique he practices is flawed; perhaps by exploiting the suffering of all living beings to obtain incense offerings, he communicated with the aura from the other side.’
‘Negotiating with a tiger.’
‘Seeing no way to escape in the face of immense loss and pain, he sought to take others with him in death…’
A great hatred rose in Chen Ping’s heart.
He opened his mouth, and a long river flowed out.
The Jade Cloud Sword, carrying wind and thunder, had already slashed out.
Faster than him, a subtle light flashed from the extreme south.
This light had barely entered his eyes when the whole sky froze: wind ceased, clouds stopped…
From all directions, whether man, beast, plant, or city, everything came to a halt.
Chen Ping’s Sword Evil Thunder Sound Sword Rainbow also remained suspended in mid-air, trailing a long flame and halting in the void.
Daoist Mingxin’s rapidly retreating figure froze in mid-air, held in a ludicrous posture.
The thick black smoke fully revealing itself in the manor, along with a protruding massive black claw, suddenly turned to ashes.
Even the newly opened rift disappeared without a trace.
In everyone’s mind, appeared the image of a nine-tiered tower…
“That is the Heaven-Reaching Tower.”
This sensation of the space freezing lasted only half a breath, and the surroundings returned to normal.
Chen Ping’s sword light, with a whoosh, fiercely resumed its forward slash, its power and forward momentum unchanged.
As for Daoist Mingxin, his eyes were filled with shock, seemingly unable to fathom this turn of events.
After being swept by the white light, he found his Void Pill dispersed like dust, his body becoming incredibly weak, and the sword light before his eyes, akin to a fierce dragon, about to slash him. He barely had time for a thought, activating a Life-Saving Talisman on his neck, before being cleaved in two by the thunderous Jade Cloud Sword.
The unmatched sharp sword light raged, tearing flesh and assaulting the soul, intending to shred him and his soul to pieces.
The talisman already flashed with a colorless glow, and with a swish, the upper half of Daoist Mingxin’s body vanished into thin air.
When his aura reappeared, it was far away.
As soon as Chen Ping looked, he understood.
The half-body escape into void space and instant span of a thousand miles must have been the “Small Shifting Talisman.”
“Chase…”
Chen Ping’s thoughts moved, his sword light transforming into a rainbow, pursuing across a thousand miles.
This guy was too dangerous.
Unable to win, yet having a means to unleash Demonic Qi from an outside domain, if he succeeded, Bingli Island would surely suffer.
Even though Chen Ping prided himself on being extraordinarily powerful in this world, seldom finding a match with ease,
he still didn’t dare claim he could deal with the aura that just appeared.
Remembering when those Dragon King Dharma Bodies were crushed like young chicks, he considered himself perhaps inferior.
“Thankfully, there’s the Heaven-Reaching Tower.”
At this moment, Chen Ping was immensely relieved.
Mingxin Daoist’s actions were akin to someone in a past life, unable to win, directly throwing black grenades, with no difference, an absolute terror… agent.
He must die.
The sword light pierced clouds and flew through the air, booming as it slashed a thousand miles away, and after more than ten breaths, he saw Mingxin Daoist’s shadow with his sword as his eyes.
The surrounding area was also very familiar; it was actually the Celestial Star Ruins.
The sword light had just caught up.
When he saw the half-body glance back with venomous eyes and plunge into the Heaven-Reaching Tower.
“He actually entered the Heaven-Reaching Tower; doesn’t he know, in his state, going in is no different than courting death?”
Chen Ping was slightly puzzled.
The sword light circled the Heaven-Reaching Tower three times, but ultimately, he did not pursue inside with his sword.
By now, he mostly understood that the Heaven-Reaching Tower, guarding the Celestial Star Ruins, was likely used for suppressing demons. Though it seemed like a mandatory trial for those who entered, in reality, it was exceedingly dangerous.
Entering unprepared, being forcibly pulled into another virtual world, carelessly getting lost, the soul not returning, could very likely happen.
“I can only assign someone to keep an eye here. The urgent task is to first handle the Beizhou warfare, pacify the whole territory, as it concerns the foundation of attaining the Dao and obtaining fortune, which cannot be delayed.”
The sooner peace is established across the land, the sooner one can gain massive fortune and enhance their Realm.
Chen Ping pondered, wielding his sword with Divine Thought, and stopped for a moment over the wilds of the Celestial Star Ruins, seeing no further changes, he retreated with his sword.
