Chapter 772: Breaking The Sea

With the rain pouring down, everyone inside the ship had been placed into the reinforced areas. Normally, while cruise ships had to deal with rough waters at times, the ships were designed to handle that kind of weather. It’s important to note that long before humans had gone into space, they had been battling the seas and winning. While there was no ship that would dare to claim they were ’unsinkable’ anymore, the modern day ships were a far cry larger and stronger than anything that had ever sailed before thanks to thousands of years worth of seagoers risking their lives and fighting the massive blue monster. So while people were worried, they weren’t that worried. The people most worried were the ones who had awakened, people like Jayden and her ’boyfriend,’ the clean-shaven young man who was still trying to stay close to her despite her making it known that she wanted some space from him.

"This isn’t good. Just the shock waves alone from those creatures out there are enough to tear apart this ship," Jayden said to the man and another infected who had met them in the chaos. This woman had dark black hair, wore glasses and black stockings with a tight skirt, white blouse and dark color jacket. If there was a uniform for a porn actress acting like a teacher, this would be it and clean-shaven had been mesmerized from the moment they encountered this woman. Laz had met this woman once before too, but only in passing when he told her to keep her activities on the down low and to not take it too far. Her bloodline was that of a succubus and her ability to grow revolved around her taking in vitality from men or women and making it her own. This trip had been good to her and she had already formed her foundation, making her a foundation realm being. While she wasn’t actually hunting right now, her abilities could be controlled but not turned off and to someone of the condensation realm like clean-shaven, she was like a beacon in the night that just dragged himself to her. As for Jayden, thanks to the night she had spent with Laz, she had broken through to the foundation realm herself. While she was still stabilizing her realm, same as Jane, the succubus, she wasn’t trying to grow anymore and instead steady her body. It was their bloodlines that guided them and although they didn’t understand it, they knew to trust it.

"I can sense that great being that I ran into the other day. He’s out there right now. I... can’t tell who is stronger as they both are giving me a massive sense of danger, but at least we aren’t alone in this," Jane commented to Jayden as clean-shaven spoke up.

"A massively powerful being who was on this ship? I wonder if I could work under him? Getting a connection like that could change our lives around... I wonder if we ever ran into him? Probably not since someone like that would be with all of the upper classes on a ship like this," Clean-shaven commented before Jayden started laughing.

"What’s so funny? He does have a point," Jane pointed out. While she didn’t like the looks Clean-shaven was giving her, she did like his girlfriend Jayden and therefore was being respectful to him as well.

"He does. But what he doesn’t realize is that he already met that man. I can sense him as well and I damn well know who he is," Jayden said, getting her laughter under control. She didn’t despise her boyfriend, but things were different now and she wanted to work a few things out in her head first. While she hadn’t broken up with him yet, she wasn’t staying with him either, instead taking to rooming up with Kelly for now. She knew a relationship with someone like Laz was impossible, but some things she couldn’t move on from so soon.

"Oh? Then who... no. NO! It can’t be..." Clean-shaven said, having gotten what she didn’t say.

"That’s right, it’s Laz. I’d recognize his aura from anywhere. I knew he was powerful, among other things, but I had no idea he was this strong," Jayden said, a longing look in her eye.

"That bastard..."

"Control yourself. We are out in public. I didn’t say a word after you fucked that girl Chole so you should really keep your anger to yourself. We both knew what we were doing and what could happen when we went there so don’t get all angry now that it’s said and done," Jayden chastised him for his behavior as Jane looked on, knowing there was a good story there but knowing that she shouldn’t pry either.

"I’ll tell you later. But for now... No, I have no idea how strong he really is. But I think... at the very least... he won’t give up on us. And that’s something, at least..." Jayden said, turning her gaze to where she sensed that massive outpouring of power.

’You already broke me... now I can only pray that you won’t let me down...." Jayden thought as booming echoes sounded out.

"This is my domain you are fighting in. The water bends to my will and even the skies grant my wishes. Do you honestly think you can win?" The Prince said as both he and Laz hovered almost a mile away from the ship.

"I think I can fry up some fish this fine night, yes. Little bit of salt and some lemon for flavor... MMM... I can taste it already," Laz said, laughing. He knew he was at a disadvantage as far as the environment was concerned, but he didn’t exactly care. Ever since going all out against the dragons and dragon kin back in the south pole, he had been laying low while his body healed. He hadn’t had a chance to go all out like this in a while and knew that his body was swarming with energy. Back then, the three actual dragons were all upper god tier beasts, just steps away from the ancient realm and had they not cared about destroying the land, Laz might not have walked away as unhurt as he was, minus his arm. But since they were trying to keep the gate intact while he was trying to destroy it, he hadn’t had to worry so much about damage done to the earth while they had to prevent it. As upper level gods, it wouldn’t have been impossible for them to have destroyed the entire Antarctic landmass. If any of them had been ancient gods, they would have had to worry about destroying the planet, but that hadn’t been the case.

As for this battle he was in now, Laz knew that he had to control himself somewhat. He was too close to the ship to go all out, but as for everything else, that wasn’t his concern. If miles of the ocean boiled due to his power, that would only effect the Prince’s people. Had he been on land, his hands would have been tied.

But luckily, he wasn’t.

Laz let his energy flare as the black flames soared to the sky, causing the air around him to evaporate the rain drops before they even touched him. Seeing this, the prince scoffed and raised his hands as dozens of massive pillars of waterspouts shot into the air, twisting and writhing like living beings. Pointing his hands towards Laz, all the waterspouts moved and converged on him, forming a massive hurricane that battered at Laz’s flames. Laz sat within it and calmed waved his hand, launching a ball of black flames at the Prince. It hit his body and exploded, causing the air and ocean around the man to boil and evaporate as his body disappeared.

The next moment, the prince shot out of the ocean on the other side of him as dozens of ice spears as big as missiles formed in the air and shot towards Laz, only to break against his body without causing any damage.

Laz turned and brought his hand down in a chopping motion, aimed directly at where the fish man was and a massive hand appeared in the sky, before chopping down in a mirror image, crashing into the Prince and pushing him down below the waves as the palm descended splitting the ocean into two as the force of the strike separated the waves. While the ocean was deep, the prince managed to crash into an underwater mountain that was only about a thousand feet below the surface of the ocean and caused him to be blown through it. As for all of the sea creatures in the area, they exploded like popped balloons when the pressure hit them, their bodies not able to endure.

The fish people all around looked on in shock as their Prince was blasted away, wondering if he was still alive.

Miles away, the battered prince rose from the ocean and stared at Laz. They had drifted further away from the ship which was nowhere in sight, but over the course of the miles apart, each man could still see the other and hear one another.

"You’re stronger than I gave you credit for, but your civilization pales in comparison to ours. Let me show you something you’ve never seen before," the prince said as a small stone appeared in the fish prince’s hand. As soon as it did, all the air around the prince started turning to snow, then ice as any water that got close, including the ocean itself beneath him began to freeze.

"Try some of this ice of Niflheim, human."

The stone glowed blue as the prince forced energy into the ice. As Laz looked on, the glow grew brighter and brighter until it became like a small star. Then a beam of light shot out from the stone and hit Laz faster than he could move. All at once, his body froze as ice began to form and spread out from where it hit, creating ice crystal after ice crystal that encased his whole body.

Before Laz could stop it, his body became heavy and dropped like a rock into the ocean.
