Chapter 95 Attack on Black Maria

  • Next Chapter

"Hey! Who are you guys?!"

One of the Black Maria members noticed Lars and the others as the effect of Absolute Vanish finally disappeared. The entire room immediately became tense. One by one, the Black Maria members raised their weapons and prepared for battle.

Lars and the Mazeltov members stretched their bodies. They had already expected this to happen eventually. Now, it was time to fight.

"Oscar, do it," Zane ordered.

"Got it!" Oscar turned toward the entrance and raised his hand.

"Ice Wall!"

CLANK!

Massive shards of ice suddenly erupted from the ground and rapidly spread across the doorway.

CRACK! CRACK!

The ice continued expanding until it completely sealed the entrance and covered a large portion of the surrounding wall. The Black Maria members stared in shock as their only entrance and exit had been blocked.

This was part of their plan. Prevent reinforcements from entering. And more importantly, make sure nobody inside could escape. Oscar grinned as he turned back toward the enemies.

"Now we're all stuck together."

"Kill them! Don't let them enter the dungeon! You, go inside and inform the Boss inside." One of them who was responsible for leading the group protecting the portal, named Stag, ordered. The person he instructed nodded and immediately started moving.

But even before he entered, he was struck by an arrow and collapsed on the ground. Stag looked in front and saw Lars with his bow. He was now equipping Gale Bowmaster. He would make sure no one could go inside and ruin this surprise raid.

"Tch!" Stag clenched his teeth.

"Go and defeat each of them!" Zane shouted.

"Uraaaa!"

Benn Strong and Ryuken shouted before they jumped over the railing and landed on the ground below, where they immediately unleashed their attacks.

Vega activated his skill, and five of his copies emerged from him. He then sent them to attack the enemies. Oscar jumped onto the wall before gliding along it with ice formed beneath his feet. At the same time, he unleashed Ice Spears toward the enemies.

Max was in the air, striking from above like a deadly predator. With every dive, a dozen or more enemies were blown away.

Aleph on the other side was killing enemies on the right and left. He was deadly in this kind of situation. With every strike, he was becoming faster and faster until he became literally invisible during his attacks, leaving his enemies unable to react.

Zane was releasing her wind spells throughout the other side of the room. Each of her casts caused a disastrous effect, sending enemies flying across the battlefield. And lastly, Lars was on the upper floor, continuously shooting the enemies who tried to enter the portal.

"Who the hell are they?!" Stag muttered as he felt sweat appear on his forehead. The enemies in front of them were far more deadly than he had expected.

"Don't tell me... they're Mazeltov members?" Stag's eyes widened as he considered the possibility. He had heard that his Boss had sent people to hunt down the Mazeltov members, but he never expected them to come back and attack them again.

After a few minutes, almost all the Black Maria members were on the floor. Some were groaning in pain, while others were already unconscious. Lars looked at the effects of the Classes used by the group members and was amazed.

"It seems that with the right individuals, my Classes can become even more powerful," he muttered.

Stag then raised his sword and tried to attack Lars while he was distracted. But Lars had already expected it and moved to the other side before bringing out Genesis, which was now enhanced with electrical energy due to his Tempest Duelist Class.

Swoosh!

Lars swung his longsword, sending Stag flying toward the far side of the wall and leaving him unconscious.

"It was so easy! I can do this all day," Oscar said as he landed on the ground. His body was covered in icy mist.

"Don't let your guard down. These are just low-ranked members. The real threat must be inside the portal," Aleph said.

All of them then looked at the portal in front of them before walking into it.

Celine was currently in the corner of the room, hiding behind some destroyed debris. She pulled a piece of cloth from her shirt and tied it around her wound to stop the bleeding. Right now, she was already a few floors below the place where she had first been held.

Luckily, so far, her chasers had still not found her. She stood up and slowly walked again, trying to find an exit.

As she walked, she eventually arrived in an area filled with long hallways. Dozens of doors were located on each side. The doors looked similar to the one where she had been held before. She walked closer to one of them and looked through the small opening.

A very sharp, pungent smell filled her nose as she got closer. She narrowed her eyes in the darkness before her eyes landed on a figure lying on the floor.

"Hey... are you alright?" Celine called to the figure.

The figure did not move. After Celine called out multiple times without receiving a response, she was about to walk away when suddenly, the figure began to move.

"Please... help... me..." the figure said.

Only then did Celine realize that it was actually a woman. Celine tried to open the door, but it was locked. However, she suddenly remembered that she had taken the keys from the guard earlier. She brought them out and tried one of them.

Click!

The key fit the lock and successfully unlocked the door. The key she had taken must have been a master key for most of these doors. Celine then quickly approached the woman inside the cell.

"Please... bring me out of here... before they sacrifice me..." the woman said. She was very thin, with the bones of her cheeks and ribs clearly visible.

"Sacrifice? What do you mean by sacrifice?" Celine asked. She had heard Maria mention it too, saying that she would be used as a sacrifice. But she still didn't know what it meant.

"They will... make us... become food for the guardian of this dungeon..." she said.

Celine's eyes widened as she couldn't believe what she had just heard.

Step. Step. Step.

Suddenly, footsteps could be heard from outside the cell. Celine immediately stood up and looked toward the door.

'There is someone here. I need to get out of here.'

"No... please don't leave me..." the woman suddenly grabbed Celine's leg. Celine looked at the woman. She felt guilty about leaving her behind. But if Celine didn't escape now, eventually both of them would be caught.

"Sorry. I will come back and help you. I'm really sorry." Celine bowed before leaving her behind and escaping the cell.

"Noo..." The woman stretched her hand toward Celine before collapsing onto the floor. "Don't leave me here... I don't want to die..."

---

Boom! Boom!

Thunder rang across the dark clouds above as heavy rain poured down. The wind was extremely strong, sending debris and dust flying through the air.

"This... what is this place?" Those were Lars's first words after arriving in the dungeon. He and the others were inside the ground floor of a collapsing building. They looked outside and were shocked by what they saw.

"It looks mostly like an Area-Type Dungeon. Benn Strong, Ryuken, activate the drones," Aleph ordered both of them.

The three of them then activated their drones, each one bearing an Emma sticker. The drones floated into the air before flying upward. These drones were Emma's creations, designed to help map the dungeon they were currently inside. They were still in the prototype phase, but they were already good enough to be used in the field.

"The drone will take at least 30 minutes to send the information. If the map is larger, it will take even longer. Hopefully, this dungeon isn't that large," Aleph said.

"Now, what are we gonna do while waiting?" Oscar asked.

Vega, who was standing on top of a tall pole, finished his watch before landing on the ground.

"It is very difficult to see far in this limited visibility due to the heavy rain," Vega reported.

"We will keep moving. Waiting here will only waste our time. We don't know Celine's current condition. We need to find her as quickly as possible," Lars said.

"I prefer us to stay until the data arrives, but if that is your plan, then we will follow it," Zane said. All of them then moved together as they passed through the collapsing plaza.

Unknown to them, a nearby CCTV camera was recording their every movement. On the other side of the CCTV, Maria was watching everything that was happening. She clenched her fist in anger.

"These insects! How did they find this place?!" Maria began to grow irritated.

"Order everyone to move now! I want all of them brought before me as corpses!"
