Chapter 1192: Acker’s Improvements [GT Ranking Bonus Chapter]

And indeed, Asher wasn’t. Just because someone possessed some immobilization ability or skill didn’t mean they could lock anyone down in one location. Asher had simply moved through pure physical strength, as his physical strength and speed surpassed whatever this woman’s Shadow could suppress.

He clenched his fist, crushing her wrist, the sound of bone breaking tearing through the sound of the ongoing battle. As Asher moved to finish her, the woman moved, her fingers releasing their grip over the dagger as it fell downward. She caught it with her other hand, then severed off her own hand a couple of inches away from the wrist.

Blood splattered as she blurred backwards, her figure coming to a stop. She came to a stop, her blood dripping to the ground, yet she wore no expression of pain. The Shadow wrapped around Asher vanished and appeared beside her in one piece.

Asher took a step, his figure appearing before the woman, his right fist swinging towards her head as he aimed to finish her once and for all. As his fist was about to meet her head, a black hand appeared in the path of Asher’s attack. The hand opened into a palm as it caught Asher’s fist, halting it in place with a booming sound.

The woman instantly collapsed to her knees as she started panting heavily, her body turning pale, her Shadow dissipating into black smoke.

Standing before Asher was his own Shadow, as the woman had used her entire Astra Energy to summon it to defend her. It was the reason she was now pale and suddenly exhausted, as even her stamina seemed to have been siphoned, and even something more, as the cost for summoning Asher’s Shadow.

This was her trump card and a skill that took her years to create; the ability to summon Shadows of her opponents, which would siphon her Astra Energy, Stamina, Life Force, and Vitality in exchange until she dismissed it.

Asher stared at his own Shadow as it held his fist. Although the Shadow didn’t possess his face, he knew it was his Shadow.

Asher decided to test this Shadow of his. He wasn’t truly convinced, as even the Rank 8 Emovira from earlier had a clone of him, but it crumbled under a single slap from him. His body blurred as he appeared behind his Shadow, as he moved to end the woman, but surprisingly, the Shadow kept up easily, stopping Asher’s attack once more.

Asher’s eyes lit up like an excited child as he abandoned the woman, but still kept his attention on her as he vanished in tandem with his Shadow, both exchanging various sword attacks in rapid succession as the Shadow had formed a rapier through its Shadow, just like the woman’s Shadow had formed its own dagger.

But, just because it was Asher’s Shadow didn’t mean it was his equal. It wasn’t. At the end of the day, it didn’t possess any Astra Energy, nor his Elemental Affinity. Hence, the Shadow could be killed whenever Asher wanted in a single attack.

But regardless, the Shadow possessed his swordsmanship, his combat experience, his hand-to-hand combat prowess, and everything physical, including information and quantity.

As Asher was handling his Shadow, treating this war as a lesson to refine himself, Acker Holloway was moving in another direction.

Tears fell from his eyes as he moved. He was pained, his heart ached as he killed another Velkarin Empire Soldier.

"Retreat, young Soldier. I understand you are fighting for a cause, but violence is never the answer. It aches my heart each time I kill a fellow Human."

Acker spoke as his tears reached his jawline. He tried to convince his opponents to retreat. Although he knew how futile that was, he still had to try, and if he failed, he would keep trying. He couldn’t falter in his path to cleanse the world of sin.

Although Acker tried to convince these Soldiers to go back and not fight, he wasn’t an idiot. Once anyone made a move, he attacked to kill. While he may be trying to convince them, it didn’t mean he was going to knock them out or anything of the sort.

His golden staff blurred as he rolled it over his shoulders as he blocked an attack from a Pulse Wavestar Life Ranker with ease. He deflected the sabre as he swung his staff without an ounce of mercy. His speed spiked to an absurd degree as the Wavestar Life Ranker’s head exploded like a watermelon.

As he dodged, a rain of arrows forged from various Elemental Affinities came from above. His head snapped towards the incoming attack. He sighed as he shook his head.

"Amitabha."

He stated as he prayed for forgiveness to Buddha for killing these people, as he understood he was committing murder.

His staff rose as he spun it in front of him, creating an air barrier. The Elemental arrows slammed into the air barrier with battering impact, but Acker tanked them all without taking a step back despite the immense power and force each possessed.

But he didn’t just destroy them, no, he expertly deflected some of the Elemental arrows to the side, the arrows slamming into Velkarin Soldiers who were fighting other Algorith Frontier Soldiers kilometers away. As the arrows connected, they detonated, injuring and killing the Velkarin Soldiers, easing the pressure on some Frontier Soldiers.

Some Soldiers stared at Acker with gazes of gratitude, then charged towards the next opponent without standing around.

Acker blurred backwards. The moment he did, an enormous chasm tore open as a Sabre slash warped the battlefield, the chasm stretching for kilometers as another Wavestar Life Ranker moved to kill Acker Holloway after he took out a few Velkarin Soldiers in one go.

The Wavestar Life Ranker pressed forward with pure killing intent and hatred in his eyes. His sabre parted the air as he slashed towards Acker’s neck, his sabre covered in Astra Energy.

But alas, it was futile.

Acker, almost if not all Wavestar Life Rankers, could be considered small ants compared to the current power he possessed.

After his loss to Asher at the Inter-Empire Tournament and watching him defeat Arianna with immense dominance and power while also recognizing Asher as the Hero and Cleaver Of Sin, his delusions had become even more delusional.

Within the past ten months, Acker Holloway had deluded himself into possessing as much power as Asher possessed at the time he defeated Arianna Haellight during the Inter-Empire Tournament.

Meaning, at this point in time, Acker Holloway possessed the same amount of power Asher did almost eleven months ago.

Such was how absurd his delusions were.

But the power had taken months to manifest, as he simply didn’t become delusional about becoming as strong as Asher and boom, he was given the power instantly.

How fast his delusions made things reality depended on how easy it was. Like him possessing the ability to fly, which his delusion had made possible, and his ability to communicate telepathically with Asher and Lyra, which were both made a reality instantly, simply because it was that simple, easy, and straightforward.

But... sometimes, during battles and the heat of the moment, his Chunibyo would skip the time, like months or years, required to make his delusions a reality and instantly make his delusions reality.

Just like how Finch’s Good Luck ability functioned, turning what should have been impossible into something that simply happened.
