Chapter 1269: Surrender

"Anyway, since you aren’t showing us more of your new ability, let’s get going. We need to end the war."

Morthern spoke as his gaze turned towards the distance, where various Soldiers were still fighting for their lives. Morgana had been holding back the two Crownstar Life Rankers who had been sent after her.

She was the person whom Emperor Horace had chosen to kill, as he considered her the weakest Great Elder.

"Since Zolthemire sent out various Crownstar Life Rankers, he should have just tried ending the war instead of having them defend a few places, although I understand the logic behind his actions."

Azaron spoke in a calm tone, his eyes shifting towards one of the Cabinet Members of the Royal Family.

A smile appeared on Morgana’s face as she spoke.

"Don’t worry, I will handle ending the war by myself."

Her tone was calm and collected, although a hint of excitement could be faintly sensed beneath her composed demeanour. Her figure rose into the air as she flew towards the sky. Azaron and Morthern simply watched, wondering what this woman was going to do now.

Morgana vanished, her speed carrying her across millions of kilometres as she arrived back at the Zarethorne Empire, since her battle with the two Crownstar Life Rankers had taken her beyond the Empire’s borders.

Upon reaching the Empire, she floated above it, her hair dancing to the rhythm of the wind. With a booming force, her Astra Energy erupted with a cataclysmic crescendo, tearing towards the sky.

The sky across the entire Zarethorne Empire began to churn, the clouds turning pitch-black like something ominous was approaching. Various Crownstar Life Rankers scattered across different locations reacted instantly, assuming that an enemy was about to launch an attack against the entire Empire.

Their Astra Energy and abilities came alive as they immediately erected barriers, domes, and everything else within their capabilities to protect themselves and the location assigned to them. Their eyes narrowed as they waited for the attack, but none came. Instead, their heads turned towards the source of the Astra Energy fuelling the phenomenon.

The moment their eyes landed on Morgana, they wondered what this Wargrave was about to do now.

Various soldiers, whether Velkarian or Zarethornian, halted in their movements as they all saw something cast a tremendous shadow over them. Although they didn’t know who was about to attack them, both sides immediately assumed that it was the opposing army.

Floating with her hands behind her back, Morgana began to speak in a calm tone, her voice flat and indifferent.

"People of the Velkarin Empire, I am Morgana Wargrave, Second Elder of the Ducal Wargrave Family, and I have only one thing to say: drop your weapons and surrender. Most of your Crownstar Life Rankers have already been killed."

She simply got straight to the point as her voice reverberated across the entire Empire, reaching every remote village and even the most advanced Noble Territory.

The moment the words reached the ears of the Velkarian soldiers, their faces twisted in disbelief. They couldn’t believe what they had just heard.

Their reasoning was simple: if their Crownstar Life Ranker Grand Regents and other Minor Regents had already been killed, then surely the Crownstar Life Rankers and Soulstar Life Rankers from the Frontier they were stationed on would have attacked them by now, wouldn’t they?

"LIES!!!"

"KEEP ATTACKING!!!"

"WE MUST BE WINNING FOR THEM TO PULL SUCH CHEAP TRICKS!!!"

"VELKARIN!!!" "VELKARIN!!!" "VELKARIN!!!"

Various Velkarian soldiers screamed at the top of their lungs as their resolve hardened instead of crumbling.

But alas, they couldn’t be blamed, as Morgana herself didn’t even know that Emperor Horace was dead, nor did she know that her monstrous nephew had erased half of the Velkarin Empire.

Even if she had known and announced it, these people might not have believed her.

Morgana didn’t bother trying to convince anyone. Her Heavenly Firmament Manipulation ability came alive at a mere thought from her, and the Astra Energy she was unleashing began manipulating the sky in earnest.

With a booming force, crackling black lightning came alive, rolling through the black clouds and slamming into itself until a gigantic Lightning Dragon was formed.

The dazzling light from the black Lightning Dragon illuminated various Frontiers, but she wasn’t done yet.

The wind howled with maddening force as atmospheric conditions and pressure shifted instantly. It became difficult to breathe as everyone had no choice but to hold their breath.

The wind coiling within the sky gathered above her until it formed a gigantic serpent, whose hissing reached every soldier in the vicinity.

Flames came next, the temperature rising to unprecedented heights. In the next instant, blue flames blazed into existence, forming a gigantic gorilla that pounded its chest like it possessed an intelligence of its own.

Finally, water droplets emerged from the clouds, each streaking against the others as they gathered to form an octopus with more than sixteen legs.

Each beast floated above her, the Astra Energy radiating from them immense, demonstrating that they possessed insane killing power and destructive force.

Morgana snapped her fingers, and with an eruption of her Astra Energy, the four Elemental Beasts in the sky multiplied, each of them increasing tenfold.

She was abusing her newly acquired Astra Energy reserves.

She pointed a finger downwards, and with four different roars, each beast pounced like a monster had finally been unleashed from its confinement. However, the attacks weren’t meant for the weak soldiers. They were aimed at the Crownstar Life Rankers from the Velkarin Empire.

Various Crownstar Life Rankers from the Zarethorne Empire didn’t dare remain nearby. Their figures blurred as they shot backwards, not wanting to be caught in such a devastating attack, or they would die.

However, there was no need to flee. With Morgana’s control over her Astra Energy, even as the attacks slammed into the Zarethorne Empire itself, she could simply ensure that nobody from her Empire suffered any damage.

The Crownstar Life Rankers of the Velkarin Empire’s military gritted their teeth. Those who possessed artefacts used them to protect themselves, while those who had talismans no longer dared to keep them hidden.

Various booms erupted outside the Zarethorne Empire, the sound waves, blast waves, shockwaves, and earthquakes travelling across the distance until they reached the borders of the Zarethorne Empire.

Morgana’s eyes remained calm as her Astra Energy surged, forming a golden dome above the entire Empire that extended all the way to its borders. With a boom, the shockwaves, blast waves, and sound waves slammed into the Astra Energy dome.

It shook, threatening to collapse, but it stood strong. Seismic earthquakes of immense magnitude couldn’t even penetrate the dome.

Everyone could only watch. Although the dome protected them, it didn’t mean they couldn’t feel the sheer power and shredding force emanating from the shockwaves.

Morgana waved her hands, erasing the shockwaves. Her eyes swept downwards. She didn’t speak anymore, but her gaze alone was enough to make everyone present understand what she meant.

No Velkarin Empire soldier dared utter another word of defiance. Right before their eyes, a single person had taken on multiple Crownstar Life Rankers.

With a clattering sound, various weapons dropped to the ground as the soldiers abandoned their futile struggle.

Overwhelming power remained the most effective way to make someone, or an entire group of people, see reason.

However, just like the Velkarian soldiers Damian had captured earlier, these soldiers also believed that they would soon be freed, as their Emperor would negotiate on their behalf and bring them back home.
