Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off
Chapter 838: The Little Horn Collector
Chapter 838: Chapter 838: The Little Horn Collector
Back in Dragon Beast City...
Xiao San stood beside the large bed, his bright little eyes staring curiously at the man lying peacefully in front of him.
The man was incredibly handsome. Even though he was completely unconscious and had not moved for a long time, there was still an overwhelming, majestic aura surrounding him.
But Xiao San was not paying much attention to his face. His bright emerald eyes were completely fixed on the two shiny, elegant dragon horns growing from the top of the man’s head.
They looked smooth. They looked beautiful. And most importantly... Xiao San really, really wanted to touch them.
His little hand slowly stretched forward through the air. But before touching the grand horns, he poked the man’s arm with one finger.
"Da...da~."
The man did not move.
Xiao San blinked. "Dada~."
Still nothing.
The little cub tilted his head, his curiosity piqued even further. He slowly leaned closer over the soft mattress. Then, after making sure his new grandfather still did not move, his small fingers carefully reached toward one of the shimmering horns.
Tap.
His fingertip touched the cool, smooth surface. Xiao San’s eyes immediately lit up like tiny stars!
"So smooth..." he whispered to himself.
He gently rubbed the horn with his tiny fingers. The man still did not react.
Seeing this, Xiao San became bolder. He touched it again. And then again! His little eyes were practically glowing with delight.
"It feels so good..."
He carefully rubbed the shiny horn for a moment before suddenly reaching up with both hands to ruffle his own fluffy hair.
Hidden beneath his messy locks were two tiny, barely visible little horn bumps. They were so tiny that they were almost impossible to see unless someone looked very closely.
Xiao San touched one of his own tiny bumps. Then he looked at his grandfather’s large, magnificent horns. Then back at his own tiny ones.
His little mouth immediately pouted into a dissatisfied frown.
"Will my horns grow this big too?" he muttered to himself, staring at the man seriously.
After thinking for a moment, his little face became confused. "Mother said..." He scratched his head, rumpling his hair even more. "...he’s also Grandpa. Father’s father?"
He looked at Teng Yunxiao again, his little brows furrowing into a tight knot. "But how come Grandpa never came to meet us before?"
He clearly found this very strange. But the complicated question only occupied his simple cub mind for a few seconds. Soon, the shiny, smooth horn attracted his attention once again.
Xiao San immediately forgot about everything else. He reached out and gently hugged the grand horn with both of his tiny hands, resting his cheek against it. He really, really wanted his own horns to grow this big and shiny!
He was still happily hugging the horn when...
Creak.
The wooden door suddenly swung open!
Xiao San jumped! His little hands immediately flew away from the horn as if it had burned him.
In a flash of pure panic, he quickly sat straight up beside the bed. His little back became unusually stiff, and his hands rested obediently on his knees.
He adopted an extremely serious, innocent expression, looking exactly like a well-behaved cub who had been sitting there quietly the entire time.
As if... he had never touched the horn at all!
Footsteps slowly approached the bed. Xiao San secretly glanced behind him through the corner of his eye.
His father, Xuan Long, was walking into the room with calm, steady steps. And cradled gently in his arms was his sleepy little sister, Yue Yue.
Xuan Long’s gaze swept across the quiet room before falling directly onto Xiao San. He walked over, reaching out a hand to gently ruffle his son’s fluffy hair.
Xiao San’s little body swayed slightly from the gentle force. "Father~"
Xuan Long chuckled softly. He sat down on the edge of the bed and pulled Xiao San up onto his lap. The little cub obediently climbed onto his father’s strong legs, settling in.
Xuan Long gently stroked his son’s head, his eyes moving toward Teng Yunxiao lying peacefully on the pillows. A faint, affectionate smile appeared on his face.
"Are you greeting your grandfather here?" Xuan Long asked softly.
Xiao San’s body stiffened just a little bit. His bright eyes darted toward the shiny horns, then quickly back to his father. He nodded with extreme seriousness. "I was greeting him."
Xuan Long raised an eyebrow, amusement dancing in his emerald eyes. "Really?"
Xiao San nodded very firmly. "Yes!" He paused for a second, unable to resist, and pointed a tiny finger toward the bed. "Grandpa’s horns are very pretty."
Xuan Long looked at his son for a moment. Then, his eyes noticed the messy tufts of hair sticking up in odd directions all over Xiao San’s head...the clear result of a cub comparing his own tiny bumps to the real thing.
Xiao San looked at his own tiny horns again.
Then he looked at his grandfather’s large, shiny horns. His little face became deeply thoughtful.
After comparing them back and forth for a while, his emerald gaze slowly shifted toward his father.
Xuan Long immediately felt a sudden, ominous chill when he saw that calculating look. "What?"
Xiao San did not answer. Instead, the little cub suddenly scrambled up to stand unsteadily on his knees before reaching both of his tiny hands directly toward Xuan Long’s head.
Xuan Long frowned slightly. "What are you doing?"
Xiao San unceremoniously grabbed both of his father’s ears.
Xuan Long froze. The little cub happily squished his ears, pulling them gently from side to side like soft dough.
Xuan Long had no idea what his son was trying to accomplish, but seeing how happy the little guy looked, he simply lowered his head and let him play.
Then, Xiao San’s little hand suddenly moved upward. His small fingers wrapped around one of Xuan Long’s horns.
Xuan Long’s entire body stiffened instantly. He slowly raised his dark eyes.
Xiao San was staring at the horn with absolute, deadly seriousness. The little cub patted it twice. Then he looked over at his grandfather’s massive horn on the bed. Then back at his father’s.
His little face became even more confused.
"Father..."
"Hm?"
"You are so big."
Xuan Long’s chest puffed out, a proud smirk appearing on his face. "Yes."
Xiao San continued poking the horn. "But why are your horns so little?"
Xuan Long’s proud smile vanished into thin air.
"..."
His lips twitched. He slowly turned his head and leveled a dark, murderous glare at his eldest son.
Unfortunately, Xiao San was completely oblivious to the dangerous look on his father’s face. The little cub casually continued tapping the horn.
"So little..." He patted it again, shaking his small head. "Grandpa’s horns are so big."
Xuan Long’s eyebrow twitched violently.
Xiao San tilted his head, asking innocently, "Are you not powerful enough, Father?"
Silence.
A suffocating, heavy silence filled the entire bedroom.
Xuan Long stared at his son, his breath catching in his throat. For a moment, he genuinely did not know whether to laugh or smash something. His father had not even been fully awake yet, and this little brat was already ranking their horns!
Was this really his biological son?
Xuan Long took a long, deep breath, closing his eyes to compose himself. He repeatedly reminded himself that Xiao San was still just a child. He could not get angry. He could not throw his own son out of the high window. He absolutely could not.
...Though the temptation was growing rapidly by the second.
