Chapter 474: Chapter 235: Abnormal Change 3

With a SLAM, the bedroom door shut, and lewd moans and whispers sounded from within once more.

The fierce, enormous Tibetan Mastiff cowered in a corner, a shadow slowly falling over it as it let out a desperate whimper.

「Midnight.」

Big B was completely drained today, sleeping in a dead stupor.

But whether it was a side effect of the drugs or because the person beside him had drained all his energy, he felt his sleep was restless.

It was as if someone was whispering in his ear, fuzzily telling him to do something. In his half-awake state, he muttered:

"Bitch! Stop bothering me, or Daddy will fuck you to death."

Big B grumbled, talking in his sleep as his brows furrowed slightly.

’Something feels wrong.’

He reached out to feel the bedding and found it was a little damp.

A smug smile spread across his face.

But then he realized something wasn’t right. ’I definitely made her change the sheets.’

’Did she wet the bed? Fuck!’

In the faint moonlight filtering through a gap in the curtains, he saw his hand was covered in something dark.

Dazed, Big B turned on the night light and saw that the dark stains on his hand were all dark red blood.

He froze for a moment, then threw back the covers to see the sheets were also soaked in blood.

’Fuck, don’t tell me the girl next to me is on her period? So disgus...ting...’

As he threw the covers completely aside, Big B stared at the scene before him, his thoughts completely frozen.

A huge dog’s head lay on the bed, its neck a mangled stump of flesh and blood, looking as if it had been violently torn from its body.

Big B’s eyes slowly widened, his mouth falling open:

"AH! AHHHH! AAGGGHH— AAGGGHH—"

An inhuman scream erupted from Big B’s throat, echoing throughout the entire residential complex.

...

"Yes, I don’t know anything! I didn’t see anyone. You have to investigate this properly! Get justice for my son!"

Inside Big B’s lavish home, he was frantically shouting at several uniformed officers.

Old Zhou frowned, taking notes on what he was saying, but none of it was useful information.

The complex where the Xie family lived was not far from Autumn Water as the crow flies—in fact, they were even zoned as part of the same community. Therefore, both fell under the jurisdiction of the same public security station.

It was a local specialty that the rich and the poor enjoyed equal access to certain public resources. In many other countries, security in wealthy neighborhoods might be on par with this place, with police forces staffed by elite officers. Yet, just a short distance away, poor districts would be rife with guns and drugs, and barely any police presence to speak of.

However, having one of the city’s top luxury complexes in a bustling area right next to an old neighborhood—too expensive to demolish and redevelop—was another unique characteristic left over from the era of mass demolition and relocation.

Watching Big B wave his arms around frantically, Old Zhou frowned and asked:

"Mr. Wang Dazhuang, you said there was a woman with you at the time, correct?"

Big B—real name Wang Dazhuang—paused, then asked warily:

"Why are you asking about that? You trying to dig up some dirt on me?"

Old Zhou pursed his lips.

"Mr. Wang, I’m an officer, and this is official business. I’m not interested in your private life. But this case involves a potential felony, and everyone present needs to be investigated. I need you to cooperate."

Big B scoffed and muttered,

"The woman lives downstairs. I was with her... learning English. She was on the bed at the time..."

He rambled on evasively, but the experienced Old Zhou understood the whole situation immediately.

"Have you offended anyone recently?"

"Well... you know how it is. I piss people off every day."

Big B said nonchalantly.

Given his status and personality, it was true that he’d angered plenty of people, both through massive business conflicts and just his day-to-day behavior.

Old Zhou frowned, sensing he wasn’t going to get anything useful out of the man.

After surveying the scene, he already had a feeling this case wasn’t so simple and had called for backup from the precinct.

’Autumn Water’s security is extremely tight. Honestly, not even the government compound is this secure at night. And yet someone silently snuck up to the 44th floor, opened the door, committed the act, and then vanished without a trace?’

"Old Zhou, we didn’t see anyone suspicious on the surveillance footage. We’ve checked the hallway cameras, the elevator cameras, all the complex cameras."

a technician reported, shooting a strange look at Big B.

’Rich people sure get into some wild things...’

"We’ve collected fingerprints and we’ll run a forensic analysis back at the lab. But I have a feeling... we’re not going to get a match."

another technician, who’d been called in from the bureau for support, added.

Old Zhou nodded. Seeing that they were done processing the scene, he turned to Big B and said:

"Mr. Wang, we’ll begin our investigation immediately. Please wait for us to contact you."

"You’d better make it quick! I don’t pay a mountain of taxes every year for nothing! With all these cameras, if you can’t catch the culprit, I’ll file a complaint against every last one of you!"

Big B cursed and grumbled. Watching as the body of his beloved dog was taken away for examination, he felt a sharp pain in his heart, as if it were being sliced by a knife.

Looking at the wounds on the mastiff—which were clearly not made by a knife—all the officers present fell silent.

After the officers left, Big B made several phone calls.

"Right, don’t let this blow up...

"I was fucking you-know-who last night. If this gets out, it’s going to be a huge mess. Keep a lid on it!

"I haven’t pissed anyone off!

"Yeah, yeah. Pause the dog’s streams. Everything else continues as scheduled.

"And lift the ban on that game streamer, that Ah Bing guy... Huh? Mmm, never mind them for now..."

Big B paused, stunned. He didn’t know why he had suddenly said that.

But it was as if he’d had a dream where someone told him to stop bothering those two up-and-coming streamers. At first, Big B wanted to ignore it, but the thought kept nagging at his subconscious. He started to wonder if this disaster had befallen him because he’d been too arrogant lately, and so he gave the order anyway.
