Chapter 26: A superstar

In the Amethyst City Airport, a group of teenage girls tugged at each other’s hand as they glanced at the back of a young man standing ahead, "Look at his hair... It’s pristine silver!"

"Oh, so handsome!"

"Let’s go!"

They bravely stepped forward, "Hello, Mister. You are so handsome. May we have your Instagram?"

The person turned around, a bewildered look appearing on the handsome face, "Instagram? What is that?"

The teenage girls exchanged glances, stunned.

"My apologies. I am a bit of a recluse so I don’t understand a lot of things."

As the girls walked away, their faces were black, "Could it be he was making excuses because he didn’t want to give us his ID?"

’’No way. He looked so sincere and clueless. He might really be a recluse. Didn’t you see the number of books in his tote bag?"

"Sigh... So charming but just as strange!"

The person heard all those discussions and calmly pulled out a book from the tote bag.

"Isn’t that the classic I lent before you left?" Sienna walked over to the person.

The person’s eyes lit up and immediately, the aura around him changed.

All the aloofness faded into nothing as a cheeky smile appeared on his face, "In the new film I signed, my character is a reclusive author who is returning to their hometown after a decade. I thought I could use some practice. When did you come?"

"Just when you were fooling those young girls with your act. If they saw your public account with millions of followers, they would tear apart your reclusive face," Sienna crossed her arms in front of her chest.

"Cough... I have to go all the way with the act but I wasn’t expecting you. I was waiting for my assistant to pick me up."

"How could it be? I promised you a month ago. I forgot the dates, but I made it in time, didn’t I?"

As they walked out of the hall, a bunch of crowd started gathering around them.

It was two people at first, then six and the numbers kept multiplying with every step.

Sienna frowned, "Was I still late? Did they know that you were returning today?"

The silver-haired man looked around, "Impossible! My disguise is so good that my parents wouldn’t recognize me right now. And my itinerary is completely locked down to a selected few after the last paparazzi incident..."

"Then...?" Sienna’s footsteps slowed as she spotted a few cameras and flashes. She could see a horde of reporters rushing.

"Didn’t you check my messages? I’m afraid they are here for you, not for me!" The person said.

As their eyes locked, a look of understanding crossed between them, "I will head to the left. Emergency exit," Sienna said.

"On the count of 3."

"1... 2... 3..."

The moment Sienna took a step to the left, the silver haired man stumbled half a step forward and the wig slipped off.

Locks of long black hair cascated down as the person’s expressions completely changed, an enchanting smile appearing on her face as she posed for the cameras.

"Ava!"

"That’s Ava Rivers!"

"The Nation’s Sweetheart!"

"Oh my god! Let’s go get autographs!"

[I see it as my personal failure that I failed to teach my daughter. Or, she would not vie for what belongs to her sister...]

Sienna watched the clip where her father went on to describe her ’moral shortcomings’.

Attached to it was Kira’s statement: [I am not a materialistic person and I would never let a position or a person come between us sisters. I only hope she could understand it so she wouldn’t stoop to doing such things.]

And all those words were back by Seth: [One of the reasons we broke up is the fact that she is heartless even to her kin. At the end of the day, she only thinks of herself...]

It turned out, these people had shown up for an interview last night.

Overnight, the Qing Family had risen to the Top 1 trending news of the country with Sienna’s name being the highlight everywhere.

From the surface, all of them had cushioned their words but the implication of those words was enough for the social death of a socialite.

"Those bastards! They let you take the fall then they showed up in this interview to completely ruin you!" Ava cursed under her breath when she saw what Sienna was watching.

"That bitch of your half sister and that jerk of your ex-boyfriend truly belong together! A true pair cursed and curated in hell!" Ava cursed some more, "And you dad... Have you ever considered a paternity test?"

"No, I will keep it in mind from now on."

"I am not cracking a joke. There is nothing funny about this!" Ava looked like she was on the verge of exploding, "You shouldered all that blame and they should be thanking you or drowning in guilt. But what did they do? They just shamelessly pushed all the blame to your head."

"It’s disappointing, not surprising," Sienna sighed.

Ava looked at her in shock, "You... already knew this would happen? Then, why did you take all the blame? What the fuck were you thinking!"

"Cut back on the curses, what if your fans hear you?" Sienna looked around, "How was it?"

"Once my disguise is off, my real personality is back. You sent the security so quickly that I just gave a few autographs and rushed out..."

As Ava fell silent, Sienna followed her gaze. She realized that somebody had recognized them and there were crowds forming at a little distance.

They couldn’t stay there for long but she had left her car at the main exit which was bound to be blocked by now.

And by the time a cab arrived, their current position would be compromised.

’Honk’

Sienna raised her head and a familiar black maybach entered her line of sight.

The car took a swift U-turn in front of them and the door to the passenger seat and shotgun seat opened.

From the corner of her eyes, Sienna saw a few reporters rushing towards them, "Get in."
