Contract Marriage: Enemies With Benefits
Chapter 69: She will stay with him
Flora, who had been playing the part of a non existent wallflower, could no longer hold her curiosity.
She had never seen so many big shots together in her life as she did in a single day.
Her boss, then her boss’s childhood friend who happens to be the CEO of Davis Group and now her boss’ rumored mortal enemy who is the most eligible bachelor of the country and the heir of Hawke Family.
Flora felt like she had walked into another world.
"Of course, who else would he be here for?"
Hearing Leon’s confirmation, Flora felt a bit dizzy.
While nobody was looking, Leon even took it into his own hands to whisper sneakily, "What Vice President Hawke? Sounds so distant. Call him Big Boss."
Flora, who had barely stabilized herself, felt dizzy again, ’’B-B-Big Boss..."
"Good girl," Leon nodded, rather pleased with himself.
When Flora looked at Sienna, her eyes sparkled brightly, ’I knew it. Boss is formidable!’
Sienna was blinded by the girl’s super enthusiastic gaze so she cleared her throat and turned to Leon instead, "Tell me seriously. What exactly happened?"
Leon’s cheeky smile briefly disappeared. When he thought about the past few hours, his face turned solemn.
An usual four to five hour drive was covered by Callahan in half the time. Callahan broke every speed limit to reach Bellhaven as soon as possible.
And a few times, Leon even feared they would make it to heaven before making it to Bellhaven.
When they reached the town, all roads were blocked. Before they could figure something out, Callahan got a call from Sienna’s number.
As soon as he answered it, his aura completely changed. And after dropping the call, the man walked out amidst the raging storm.
"I followed him but because of the power outage, I lost sight of him," Leon sighed.
Leon knew that even if he found Callahan, he wouldn’t be able to stop or control his actions.
So, he called Qing Horizons and got some information about Sienna’s business trip, where she was headed, who she was meeting and everything.
After taking a long route, he finally arrived at the Elder’s place and found Sienna there.
After telling her about Callahan’s whereabouts, he could barely hold on anymore and collapsed from exhaustion.
"Rest... you all know what happened," Leon added.
Sienna glanced at the closed door, feeling a persistent ache in her chest.
The Elder sighed, "What a devoted young man," he then glanced at his grandson, "Hmph, you... drown in that business all the time, not having a single humane bone in your body. When are you going to find someone to share the weals and woes of life?"
"When I find the right person," Alex lowered his gaze and then glanced at Sienna.
Leon squinted in disbelief, ’You... you... you fox, it’s fine you are dreaming about your soulmate but why are you eyeing my sister-in-law?!’
At this moment, the door opened and the doctor walked out.
Sienna immediately approached the man, "How is he?"
The doctor sighed, "The prolonged exposure to the snowstorm, coupled with his significantly lowered body temperature, put him at considerable risk of hypothermia."
Sienna’s face dropped. For a moment, her mind stopped working, "I will make arrangements and take him to the City Hospital right away..."
"Young lady, there is no need to panic. Although there was a risk, his body was fortunately able to withstand it, and the warm bath helped his condition before I got here. He just needs rest.’’
The doctor left and the elder escorted him out.
"I have made the room arrangements. Everyone should get some rest," Alex said before he turned to Sienna, "Let’s go. I will take you to your room..."
"I will stay with him. He might need something."
Alex’s eyes flashed but the glint in his eyes disappeared before she could catch it, "Alright, let me know if you need something.’’
Once everyone left, Flora approached Sienna, "Boss, now that the town’s representative is related to Mr. Davis, shall we ask Mr. Davis for help?"
Sienna fell silent, "The elder must have his own concerns. Let’s not make it hard for him."
Flora fell silent.
"We should respect the elder’s choice. Moreover, they helped us a lot tonight and I am grateful," Sienna glanced at Flora, "Are you disappointed?"
Flora immediately shook her head, "I don’t understand a lot of things but I know that you don’t want to take advantage of your personal connections."
"If you know, then what’s bothering you?"
Flora sighed and lowered her head, "Boss, you terminated all those contracts. I am afraid that if you can’t secure this deal, General Manager Harris and the rest would cause more trouble for you."
Looking at the sulky girl, Sienna smiled, "I am still their boss. What can they do to me?" She patted the girl’s head, "Go, take rest. We will eventually figure something out."
Hearing the confidence in Sienna’s voice, Flora immediately perked up, ’Wow, so this is the aura of a boss lady, undefeated and ready to conquer everything that comes her way! Boss is so cool!’
Sienna was taken aback by the intense gaze.
"Goodnight, Boss!"
As Sienna watched the girl hop away, she suddenly remembered something, "Flora, wait."
"Boss?" Flora turned around.
"I need you to do something," Sienna’s eyes narrowed.
A few minutes later, Flora left.
When Sienna turned around, Alex’s grandfather had just returned to the living room. Sienna was about to look for him so seeing him there, she immediately approached him and asked if she could borrow the kitchen.
The elder happily agreed and led her there.
Half an hour later, Sienna prepared a simple bowl of chicken soup and went to the guest room.
When she entered the room, she realized that Callahan was already fast asleep.
She pondered over it for a moment before placing the tray on the bedside table.
Sienna sat beside the man on the bed and pulled the blanket up, tucking him properly.
As she glanced at his peacefully sleeping face, Sienna couldn’t help but shake her head. If anyone looked at Callahan when he slept, they would surely mistake him for a harmless person.
She lightly placed her palm on his forehead, placing another on her own, ’It seems fine.’
Just as she was about to retract her palm, her gaze travelled to his long eyelashes.
