Chapter 326: Chapter 324: It’s Not Too Late to Repent Now, Is It?

As it turned out, Song Yiguo got word not long after Yu Laosan checked into the hotel.

So he had brought a group of men right over.

But... what was he seeing?

’Are all of Yu Laosan’s men dead?’

’Then where is Yu Laosan?’

Ignoring the scene outside, he immediately ran toward Yu Laosan’s room.

As he passed the invisible Chen Xing, he suddenly sensed something was off. He paused for a moment before running on.

Chen Xing could only hope that Song Yiguo wouldn’t investigate who had killed Yu Laosan.

Upon entering the room and seeing Yu Laosan’s body, Song Yiguo finally let out a long sigh of relief.

In a way, he had now avenged Yan Junxi.

But... his path to revenge was far from over.

A mountain that was difficult to climb still stood before him. He would have to reach its peak before he could kill that person.

"Get rid of all the bodies, and make it clean!" Song Yiguo didn’t delve into the cause of Yu Laosan’s death.

All that mattered was that he was dead. Who killed him and how were irrelevant details.

Not long after the bodies were disposed of, Blake sent men to find Yu Laosan.

They didn’t find him. When they went to check the security footage, they found it had been destroyed, making it impossible to trace Yu Laosan’s movements.

Since Yu Laosan was the only guest on the entire floor, there were no clues whatsoever.

Chen Xing’s heart was finally at ease, and she immediately returned to her accommodations.

Her mission in the United States could be considered a perfect success.

From now on, she just needed to cooperate with Song Yiguo and lie low.

The next day, Chen Xing checked into the Hulden Hotel, posing as a friend of Song Yiguo.

She was, of course, still disguised as a woman from the Middle East.

After the havoc she had wreaked in Hulton City last time, Blake would surely want her dead on sight.

Nothing of note happened for the next three days.

On the fourth day, riots broke out in many parts of the Hulton District.

The news of the old Bishop’s death, combined with the rumor that Blake had nearly imprisoned the Holy Daughter, fueled public outcry against him.

The sheer number of protesters took even Blake by surprise.

He had thought that not many of his citizens were followers of the Holy Hall.

Little did he know that a large portion of them were paid agitators sent by Lou and Song Yiguo.

The riots continued right up to the day of Blake’s wedding anniversary.

The anniversary banquet that evening was held as scheduled, only... the woman of the hour never appeared.

According to Blake’s explanation, his wife had suddenly fallen ill, so he would be hosting alone.

The crowd was speechless. ’You can do that?’

Just as Blake stood on stage, passionately proclaiming his deep love for his wife, the banquet was suddenly interrupted.

The Commander-in-Chief’s Wife, twenty-six years his senior, appeared at the entrance. Seated in a wheelchair, the wrinkled old woman watched him, her face buried in her hands as she wept.

Yet her tears were of joy; she had heard Blake’s heartfelt speech clearly from outside.

It was the first time she realized just how important she was to him.

"My dearest Blake, I swear to God I will love you forever..." The Commander-in-Chief’s Wife made no secret of her affection.

On stage, Blake was, at first, surprised.

’Why is she here?’

’There’s no one behind her wheelchair...’

Upon hearing his wife’s declaration, he nearly vomited. In fact, he was already gagging.

This was precisely why he hadn’t wanted her at the banquet; he could never bring himself to say those words while looking at her utterly repulsive face.

Over the past year, he had come to believe he was in complete control of the United States. Even she no longer had the power to sway him.

If he weren’t still planning to use her for a few charity events, he would have had her eliminated long ago.

Seeing the man who had just been so lovingly professing his feelings now unable to hide his disgust for his wife, the crowd looked on sympathetically at the Commander-in-Chief’s Wife.

The Commander-in-Chief’s Wife’s tears of joy stopped the instant she saw Blake gag.

She was furious.

’Am I really that disgusting in his eyes?’

Just then, her wheelchair began to move slowly forward.

No one could see Chen Xing pushing it.

She wasn’t on the guest list, but that wasn’t going to stop her from attending the banquet.

Of course... she hadn’t come for nothing.

Her goal was to make Blake’s life difficult and prevent the charity auction from happening.

As it happened, she had been in a bedroom in the Great Commander Mansion when she heard a woman crying.

It was the sound of his wife’s sorrowful sobs.

’It’s her wedding anniversary. What kind of logic is it to forbid her from attending?’

Without revealing herself, Chen Xing pushed the solitary woman directly to the banquet hall.

When they passed the few devices designed to detect an Invisible Man along the way, she deliberately gave the wheelchair a hard push and then used the Jiezhi Space to slip past them herself.

Mrs. Blake had resisted at first, but she cooperated obediently once she heard she was being taken to the banquet hall.

And as luck would have it, she arrived just in time to hear the most perfect declaration of love in the world.

But... who would have thought that everything he said was a lie?

It was only at this moment that she truly realized the man to whom she had devoted her entire life had been deceiving her all along.

The sweet nothings that had made her fall so deeply for him back then had all turned out to be lies.

"Blake... You dare to use me?" she raged.

’I could have accepted being used. At the very least, he shouldn’t have let me see this. Then I could have at least pretended he was sincere.’

Blake panicked.

He suppressed the urge to vomit and immediately tried to explain, "Darling, don’t misunderstand. I was just..."

"Go explain yourself to the Devil!" She would never believe this man again.

’He despises me for being old now, but wasn’t he the one who relentlessly pursued me back then?’

"Guards..." Though she was very old, her voice was still loud and resonant—not at all like the bedridden invalid Blake had described. "Effective immediately, strip Blake of all his authority!"

"Darling..." Blake panicked.

Although he thought he had the situation completely under control, a strange sense of unease washed over him when he heard her words.

Moments later, the guards who had been unfailingly loyal to him all turned against him.

They had appeared to be at Blake’s beck and call, but that was only because of his wife. In reality, how many of them had truly submitted to him?

Cheng Cheng was one of those who defected.

Blake couldn’t believe it. These people who had always obeyed his every command had suddenly turned on him. He was falling apart inside. "You..." He had always believed that even if everyone else betrayed him, Cheng Cheng never would.

But now, her betrayal was swift and absolute. "I serve only the Great Commander of the United States!"

"Darling... give me one more chance!" Blake, casting aside all dignity, immediately dropped to his knees and began crawling toward his wife.

’After all these years of maneuvering for power in this country, was there not a single person who was truly on his side?’

’It’s not too late to repent, is it?’

He scrambled desperately, crawling to the side of her wheelchair and clutching at her frail, atrophied calf as he pleaded.

He didn’t dare let a hint of his disgust show.

"I’ve already given you many chances, Blake. You’re the one who failed to cherish them!" When a woman sees the truth, she can often be more ruthless than a man.

Now right in front of her, Blake’s eyes were filled with fear and desperation. "Please, you have to give me..."

He was halfway through his sentence when a knife suddenly appeared in his hand. With a panicked expression, he stabbed at the woman who had always been the source of his shame.
