Huang Lingshan nodded slightly and said, "There’s nothing else we can do."

Changing the topic, she glanced at Shen Xiuchan.

"From now on, don’t call me ’Grandaunt’. Remember that."

Shen Xiuchan was taken aback; he didn’t know why she cared so much about this form of address. He smiled and nodded. "Understood, Elder Sword Immortal."

He rose, cupped his hands, and left the secret room.

The Bronze Warship was very fast. It flew for a full day above the vast ocean before finally encountering a desolate little island.

There was little vegetation on the island, and it seemed often flooded by seawater; the small island was damp all over, with clearly no trace of any living creatures.

The Bronze Warship flew above the island. After confirming there were no living creatures on it, Mu Yan led people down to survey and mark the island.

The Shen Family currently had only a single Sea Map in hand.

It dated back to the Danzhou Immortal Dynasty era, brought back from an expedition by that cultivator of the Great Chu Immortal Dynasty named Situ Jing.

On Situ Jing’s Sea Map was recorded only the information of the seas within several tens of thousands of li east of Yangnao Land.

After the Jiuzhou World was sealed by Mystic Mechanism Escape Armor, it hid within the void and drifted freely throughout the entire Cangming Sea Region. No one knew where it now lay, nor how many tens of thousands of li it was from the sea area where Yangnao Land had originally been.

Gathering intelligence on the surrounding seas and charting a Sea Map was also one of the main purposes of their current journey.

"This place is relatively safe. I’ll make my breakthrough here."

Huang Lingshan’s figure walked out of the Bronze Warship’s secret room. Her powerful Divine Sense swept across a range of over a thousand li around them. Finding no danger, she decided to break through to the Purple Mansion right on this island.

Hearing this, Mu Yan and the others no longer bothered with measuring the island’s details and immediately began various arrangements.

Array protections, driving off nearby sea Demon Beasts, eliminating all hidden threats—everything needed to be prepared in advance.

Shen Xiuchan did not remain idle. His figure landed on the island below, also preparing some methods to help Huang Lingshan strip away the Golden Nature when the time came.

After everyone had busied themselves for half a day, Shen Xiuchan found Mu Yan, cupped his hands, and spoke. "Elder Sword Immortal will be guarded by Xiuchan. Commander Mu and the family cultivators will keep watch in the outer perimeter, to prevent any Sea Beasts or other cultivators from disturbing Elder’s breakthrough."

Mu Yan quickly cupped his hands. "Rest assured, Young Master. This old man will certainly guard this place well; not even a sea bird will be allowed in."

Shen Xiuchan nodded slightly. Only after seeing Mu Yan and the others take up sentry around the island’s periphery did he head to the center of the island.

"Elder Sword Immortal, is everything prepared?"

Seeing Huang Lingshan already seated cross?legged, with Elixirs and Spirit Crystals piled before her, Shen Xiuchan spoke.

Huang Lingshan nodded. "More or less. Later, pay close attention. If it proves impossible, just let it go; don’t injure yourself."

Shen Xiuchan lowered his head, once again taking out that Substitute Grassman. He sat cross?legged not far from Huang Lingshan, quietly waiting.

...

On Jin Chuan Island, before Xu’s Spiritual Material Shop, amid a bustling crowd, a young man and woman—two handsome young cultivators as if exiled immortals—stood before the shop.

The woman’s face was covered by a half dark?gold mask, hiding her eyes and jade?like nose, revealing only a snow?white chin and cherry lips.

Her straight black hair hung down to her waist; her slender waist, no thicker than a hand’s span, was bound by a jade belt shimmering with treasure?light, making it appear even more delicate.

The young girl held a green?jade flute in her left hand, while her right hand led a pure?white deer whose whole body emanated a sacred aura.

Her pale?blue knee?length skirt set off her bare jade feet and smooth calves, making them appear even whiter and more lustrous.

In a daze, it seemed as though a faint moon?white halo emerged upon that luminous skin.

The young man wore a suit of azure treasure robes and held a long sword. His tall, straight figure carried a faintly cold yet noble air; his sword?browed, star?eyed face was solemn and unsmiling as he quietly took in the bustling cultivators inside the shop.

After a moment, a clerk in the shop finally seemed to notice the two of them. He hurriedly came forward and spoke respectfully, "Honored sirs have stopped here—are you here to buy, or to sell?"

"Is Xu Yan in?" The woman’s clear voice rang out, like chiming rings and pendants, very pleasant to the ear.

As a shop that specialized in buying and selling Demon Beast Materials, Xu’s Spiritual Material Shop was usually frequented by Low Tier Cultivators, all shabby?looking and reeking of the unique fishy stench of sea Demon Beasts.

When had this clerk ever seen two Upper Cultivators so richly dressed and extraordinary in bearing?

Now, upon hearing the woman’s melodious immortal voice, he was further stunned.

"These are two distinguished guests!"

"Their status is no lower than those core disciples of the Ice God Palace!"

The clerk thought to himself, and quickly bowed even more respectfully. "The Patriarch is in the rear courtyard. Please, honored sirs, follow me."

The two young cultivators followed the clerk through the shop’s main hall and into the rear courtyard wing.

"Please sit for a moment, honored sirs. I will go invite the Patriarch at once."

The two nodded slightly but did not sit; they simply stood quietly at the wing room’s doorway.

After a short while, Xu Yan—the Purple Mansion Realm elder who had once advised Shen Chongming to take a task at Wuxiang Zen Temple—hurried over.

Seeing the two, Xu Yan’s expression froze, then he rushed forward in excitement.

He had originally intended to bow, but noticing the clerk beside him, he forcibly suppressed his inner impulse and spoke calmly, "There’s nothing more for you here. Go tend the front."

The clerk bowed respectfully and left.

Only after confirming there were no outsiders did Xu Yan step forward respectfully, cupping his hands. "Two envoys..."

"Find a secure place."

The handsome young male cultivator unceremoniously cut Xu Yan off, speaking softly.
