Chapter 797: Never Give Up Easily

  • Next Chapter

The moment he saw the blood-red writing on that paper, Lynn's entire body shuddered violently.

And he almost instantly understood the cause behind this entire chain of events.

In other words.

The most fundamental reason why her backlash this time had been so violent and severe was because she had used her own blood to write?

Lynn's gaze turned extremely grave.

He once again thought of that purple light that had appeared within his body before, that abnormal form of power that he still had no understanding of whatsoever.

Even Sir Aiwen had absolutely no leads on it.

He only knew.

It seemed to be some kind of power whose rank far surpassed the Root level, but why this power had appeared in his body remained an unsolved mystery.

He only knew.

It was like a violet in full bloom.

And after the quill had performed a deduction on him before, she had only warned him with a single sentence, then immediately forced herself to forget all the information she had glimpsed.

But he still remembered the words the quill had said to him.

[SOMETHING IS PROTECTING YOU, SOMETHING IS LOOKING FOR YOU.]

[YOU ARE FORTUNATE TO BE IN HELL.]

And now, the quill merely wanted to borrow that mysterious power within his body to share part of her backlash, and it had directly caused the backlash she was suffering to spiral completely out of control? Was that it?

No wonder he had only seen a single prompt in his system panel saying "Gaze of Hell" without feeling any discomfort or abnormality.

It wasn't for any other reason.

It was because the backlash had never affected him in the first place!

Lynn suddenly looked up.

At this moment, without any hesitation whatsoever, he grabbed the paper and immediately sprinted at maximum speed toward the very center of the dark space, heedless of everything.

And if the quill had truly borne the full brunt of the backlash, and the wrath of Hell had made that backlash even more violent, then the torment she was enduring right now was absolutely unimaginable. Yet she was still suppressing herself within this Alternate Dimension, not allowing herself to cause large-scale chaos, not bringing catastrophe upon Nightfall City.

And from this alone, one could truly see.

She was fundamentally different from those crazed monsters.

Otherwise, given the nature of her chaos, if she went mad, no living creature in all of Nightfall City would be spared!

"Damn it!"

Lynn clenched his teeth tightly.

Because the backlash was something he had voluntarily agreed to share, and it was also he who had asked the quill to interfere with that Fallen Angel.

If she ended up driven mad by the backlash's torment because of this.

Then that would be utterly unforgivable!

And more importantly, if she couldn't withstand it and went into chaos because of it, then he... he...

Then his grand vision of bringing the quill under his wing would go completely down the drain!

So!

Absolutely not!

Lynn no longer cared about the twisted illusions around him, his agile figure leaping between the increasingly viscous and horrifying flesh tissues, bounding between the giant vine-like blood vessels, rapidly making his way toward the very center of the flesh.

"Quill!!"

He landed in an instant, raised his head, and shouted that name through gritted teeth.

He had arrived at the very center of the space.

And he immediately saw that at the very heart of the twisted flesh masses and pervasive gore sat that quiet writing desk she had always kept in her study, the one she loved so much.

Dark and silent.

He saw the quill writing something on the desk.

He also saw the viscous, piled-up, massively mutated flesh tissues in front of the desk, saw the blood-red filth staining the quill's plume, as if all the mutated flesh had grown from her pen wings, as if gripped by some viscous giant, twisted and deformed.

And as if she had heard his call.

The quill suddenly paused.

Then, for the first time, Lynn truly heard her voice, a shriek so frantic it seemed filled with terror.

"Don't look!!"

In an instant, the scream seemed to shake the entire space.

It even formed a violent storm that blasted Lynn's body away instantly. His pupils dilated sharply, and in the moment he was sent flying, he saw countless twisted, sprawling flesh tissues writhing open, saw the flesh-made "hand" clinging to the quill frantically begin to write.

Hum——

In an instant, it was as if his brain had been struck by a heavy blow.

Lynn's eyes snapped open violently, and he sat up abruptly from his bed, breaking out in a cold sweat all over.

He sat there stunned, breathing raggedly.

Then he immediately realized that he seemed to have never left this place at all. He was lying in his own bed, and the ornate clock directly across from him let out a crisp chime, as if reminding him that it had all been nothing but a dream.

He sat there in a daze, turning to look at this empty room.

"No way!"

Lynn scrambled to his feet in an instant, his gaze snapping to full clarity.

He immediately pulled out his pocket watch from the System Space, and he instantly discovered that several hours had already passed since the moment he had stepped into Room 002.

She had interfered with him again!

She had sent him back, and he had absolutely no memory of what had happened during those hours, not even knowing how he had gotten back.

And she had told him not to look, but not to look at what?!

But he understood one thing.

She didn't want him to get close to her right now.

But what a joke that was!

Lynn realized the severity of the problem. He immediately gritted his teeth, scrambled to his feet, threw open the window, and without even bothering to put on clothes, sprinted back toward the Abnormal Creature Center at full speed.

Along the way, accompanied by the abnormal shrieks of various female creatures.

Lynn rushed to the door of Room 002 at breakneck speed, kicked the door open with one foot, and said deeply:

"Whatever difficulties you have, let's talk about them slowly. I'm here to help you! I'm warning you, don't send me back this time. Can't we just sit down and talk things through?!"

...

Hum——

It was the same bed again. Lynn's eyes snapped open once more, his pupils dilating instantly as he sat up.

He gritted his teeth, realizing what had happened again, and immediately pulled out his pocket watch.

Sure enough.

He had been sent back again, hours later again!

And just like last time, he had completely forgotten everything that had happened during that period. His memory still stopped at the moment he had kicked open the door to Room 002.

"Damn it!"

Without any hesitation.

Lynn kicked open the window with a big stomp, leaped down from the fifth floor stark naked once more, and amidst another round of shrieks from various female creatures, went streaking toward the Abnormal Creature Center in the nude.

No matter what, he absolutely had to see her and get to the bottom of this. If he gave up just like that, then his name would be written backwards!

He, Lynn!

No matter what he did, he would never, ever give up easily!

Shit!
